As a farmer of many decades I can say unequivocally that growing plant foods causes much more environmental damage than growing animals. Even growing forage crops for animals that are not raised on natural pastures is not as reliant on chemical inputs as are vegetable crops.

Expensive supplements made of chemicals and labelled as natural and vegan/vegetarian friendly often contain harmful fillers, toxins, and carcinogens. My decades of experience with the plant-based diet and taking supplements initially made me feel good but resulted in gaining fat weight, losing muscular strength, developing hypertension, NAFLD, arthritis, prediabetes, and mental health issues such as unexplained frequent irritability, aggression and suicidal ideation, as well as full-blown T2 diabetes, and had to rely heavily on medication to address these health issues. And still, I did not feel any better, and the biomarkers worsened.
Long story short, ditching plant sugars, plant oils, and plant materials in my diet and replacing them with Animal Source Food helped me reverse all my conditions.
Thank you, Dr. Westman and other doctors, for promoting a ketogenic carnivore diet for optimal metabolic health.

Here in Reality the average Vegan does statistically better than the average animal eater and Vegans have the lowest risk/rates of diabetes and even peer reviewed clinical proof that proper Vegan eating habits can actually help reverse diabetes but hey this guy typed a RUclips comment so just ignore all that reality...
Plus make sure you ignore that here in Reality the vast amount of supplements contain animal ingredients (aka are not Vegan by default) so it certainly isn't the small percentage of Vegans using the vast majority of supplements it's animal eaters keeping the billion dollar supplement industry in business and using the vast amount of supplements but don't let that basic common sense reality come into play either...
Oh and don't forget to ignore that there is objectively no such thing as a physiological human carnivore too...

I ate a vegan diet very consistently for 5 years, and found that it did not seem to affect me one way or the other. I took b12 and other supplements, which I had done for many years before that, and drank unsweetened soy milk because of the higher protein. In 2021-2022 I started reading about the attacks on farmers, blaming them for ‘climate change’, and decided to start eating animal foods to support farming. I can’t say I’m either more or less healthy now, but I’m happy with my decision to eat animals, although it’s mainly salmon and other fish, eggs, bacon, a little pork, chicken and hardly any red meat - I was never a big meat eater anyway. I still drink soy milk as I think the estrogenic effects are probably good for me as an older female. Now trying to focus on lowering carbs as much as possible.

My father's family lived in southeastern Wisconsin and sold milk from dairy cows. The dairy cows only ate corn or grain in the winter when they needed the extra calories to stay alive. Barns were not heated and they were cold. Not quite as cold as outside but close. Also fresh alfalfa is not available in Wisconsin in the winter. I think that the cattle also were given some dried alfalfa in the winter, but I admit that may be wrong about that.

We don't possess a multi chambered stomach or an enlarged cecum to ferment plant material and utilise cellulose. If you are going to live solely on plant material having either one of those organs is absolutely essential as is the ability to digest and utilise cellulose. Omnivore doesn't mean you can choose either meat OR plants. Any mammal that cannot digest cellulose must eat other animals to be healthy. This is a biological fact that humans are not exempt from.

I ate vegan for five years after I retired. All the arguments about animal welfare, the environment, etc. were interesting, but I got into it because eating rice and beans was affordable for me -- after paying my rent, there wasn't much of my Social Security check left over for everything else. I think there are no doubt people who do well with eating that way, but I think it was not beneficial to my metabolic health. The biggest lie is that no animal death or cruelty is necessary for the production of the vegan diet. There is often just as much if not more animal suffering necessary for the production of 'plant-based products'. Pesticides poison, harvesters eviscerate. Even when the animal in question is beneficial and even necessary for the vegan food, there is unfathomable amounts of death and suffering. Take almonds, for example, a vegan staple around the world (think of all the almond milk and almond flour used for vegan foods); in just a few short months between 2018 and 2019, over 50 billion bees died in the US as a result of commercial beekeeping practices when used to pollinate the almond crops. 50 Billion, with a B. That's more death than all other animals raised for slaughter combined, including fish! It was more than 7 times the entire human population.
The second biggest lie is that it's healthier, or even healthy, period. It is impossible to stay healthy on a solely vegan diet long-term for adults, and it's even worse for the young or old. You require a cocktail of pills and supplements just to fill in the nutritional void, and kids and toddlers unfortunate enough to be born to parents willing to force this onto them develop far worse issues and diseases when compared to kids who don't eschew animal products. There is also no evidence of weight-loss benefits when compared to animal-based diets of similar type (i.e. any diet compared to the Standard American Diet results in short-term weight loss, there is nothing unique about vegan diets in terms of weight-loss benefits).
And the third biggest lie is the exaggerated environmental impact of animal farming and the complete denial of environmental impact of plant farming. Huge percentages of land are not and will never be suitable for sustainable farming of crops for humans, but are perfectly able to sustain grasses for animals to graze upon. They both feed into the same system, it would be ecological suicide to demand the cessation of one and the complete reliance on the other. You can't have plants without animals, you can't have animals without plants. Few things are worse for the environment than industrial monoculture-crop farming, which is where the vast majority of vegans get their diet from. And that's with the tiny percentage of voluntary vegans today, they want to forcibly push this diet onto every human on the planet...just think how much environmental devastation would be necessary to provide it.

    (1) I am on a vegan diet: I eat vegans. They're weaker; they're slower; they're easier to catch. Technically, it is impossible to be a true vegan. Organically grown plants require either manure (which comes from animals) or organic fertilizer (which is made from ground up shrimp shells). So, if your plants aren't vegan, neither are you. (2) I could listen to Dr. Zoe Harcombe all day. She's brilliant. I learn something new every time I listen to her. (3) Is vegan healthy? You could eat a plate of French fries and potato chips, wash it down with a sugary carbonated beverage, and have Oreos for dessert. Is that vegan? Yes. Is it healthy? Most would say "No". (4) If vegans have to supplement, then by definition their diet is insufficient.

Having so many chickens (18 to 20 a square meter) that you can't clean the floor and they all stand in their own poo until they get harvested is just awful. The problem imho isn't eating meat. Yes, vegetable crops use less land if counting only a limited number of measures - i.e. protein per hectare, for instance, but they need GOOD land. My food is grown on land that would never support a vegetable crop without extreme measures. High carbon cost, high cash cost, high environmental cost and, in most cases, unsustainable. Meanwhile, my food is not destroying the soil and is adding to the net carbon sequestered by the living soil ecosystem they feed from and add back to. The vegans like to say their crops use less land. They show how much land is used by all farming and indicate that it could be supplying vegans when 70% of the land they call farmland "wasted" on livestock couldn't grow a vegan consumable crop...ever, without destroying that land and its ecosystem/environment in the process.

You forgot to mention the major greenhouse gas by far, which covers 70 percent of Earth's surface (in liquid phase, so far). This ghg evaporates from oceans and Hudson Bay Grant landmass in Canada and Northern USA, as a gas. It rises and condenses into fog, rain, and cloud. It rises further and freezes into snow clouds, always accompanied by ghg in gas phase. Messing around with ruminants and power stations cannot stop water from evaporating. Water has raised Earth's temperature by most of 33 Kelvin degrees; CO2 helped along with, I don't know, half degree or one degree, to bring it up by 33 Kelvin. Earth average temperature is thought to be 288 Kelvin.

Moreover, our molars are actually slightly bladed, looking like the top of a fist with your pointer finger slightly raised. They are not like a traditional vegetarian molar which is rounded, more like the top of a tight fist. We are looking at 4million years of evolution down stream of our ape ancestry which is a long time, we have had agriculture for 10,000 years, which is just yesterday. It's already been settled it's just that the wannabe lions/pretend apex predators are terrified they will weaken or die if they accept the reality they don't need to harm animals to devour them and/or won't adult up and put the importance of life above taste pleasure which is especially weak since they can have plenty of taste pleasure without doing such things anyway so they keep denying, crying, distracting and making excuses as the doctor in this video often does here... ;-)

@@RaceLever When will people realise that the truth about science is far more important than scientific consensus created and developed by people, industries and health organisations with vested interests? True science is not based on manipulated data from biased surveys with almost infinite variables involved.
The importance of life is blatantly ignored by fat fearers when the life is of the smaller variety. Bees for instance are rapidly declining in population in part because of their use in the pollination of almond trees to provide unnutritious milk for the wilfully blinkered.

I think Dr you need to do a lot of research before you come on and spout your opinion.because all the research I have done has pointed to eating plant-based food only as a win-win for not just the animals but for the environment and our health. I find that most doctors are so into pharmaceutical sales because they get a percentage of money whenever they give the patient the prescription that they want people to eat meat because they want to make money off of people coming in for appointments because they don't feel good from eating meat but you will continue to tell them it's something else so they won't know what the truth really is. I think a doctor should be transparent about everything and not worry about their Greed for money.

If that's your opinion you have not done your research as far as agricultural practices are concerned. Go and talk to local producers. They'll be quite honest about the level of death arable crops deliberately cause. You'll be horrified. Animals are shot, or poisoned, taking up to 12 days to die from the poison they ingested that was deliberately put out to target them. And any animal who thinks to prey on the poisoned one in its weakened state, well, they get poisoned too. In contrast we just put a home grown heifer in the freezer. I could live on nothing but beef for 18 months and hers would be the only life that was taken. The body count on any vegetarian or vegan plate is much, much higher despite the lack of meat.

Perennial grassland is a massive carbon sequestration engine. If methane from animals were a legitimate concern, then all sewage systems would utilize anaerobic fermentation. Human poop is a massive source of methane. But, anaerobic fermentation of sewage or even compost is on the table anywhere in the world. PG&E has a pilot plant in N. CA that does this in order to generate gas for combustion to provide power. Such systems are perfectly possible, but instead we have hysteria about cow farts and burps. It's a swindle on it's face. And, promotes the use of petrochemicals to manufacture fertilizer instead of the use of manure.
The notion that the Amish, who practice integrated traditional agriculture, are somehow contributing to climate change is just ignorant and preposterous on it's face. Corporate monoculture agriculture is a problem. Grass fed ruminants are absolutely NOT a problem.
Anyone who has ever actually tried to grow crops knows from experience that manure is absolutely critical to soil building, plant feeding, proper root building, and the mitigation of soil erosion, not to mention the mitigation of water contamination from the use of petrochemicals.

It really comes down to a person what diet is good for them. For most people a balanced diet of both meat and vegies is good.
I have done keto diet and its great for rapid weight loss. But i would not do it for long term. Ive heard some people getting heart attacks and so on.
But i would definately not go full vegan either since there are other issues with that.
My friends GF has been a vegan for more then 10 years now. And couple of years ago she lost the use of her left leg.
Doctors dont know whats wrong with her. They say its like she has MS but she dont according to all tests.
So that leads me and my friend and some other people to believe that it has something to do with the vegan diet.
She did tell me that she takes vitamin supplements so if thats true that should not be the issue.
My friend was allso a vegan but he stopped being one because of that.
This is still just hypothetical and there is no evidence since the doctors can't come up with a diagnosis.
Im not sure how her condition is at the moment since i dont see them that often now days.
But i hope she will try a ''normal'' diet and see if it helps.

I see you are ignoring the billions of animals, some cute, fluffy ones too, deliberately shot and poisoned annually to establish, grow, protect and harvest plant crops. That is where the animal abuse lies with poisons taking up to 12 days to kill their intended targets and animals shot from a distance so rarely receiving a humane kill shot. There may be no meat on your plate but there is far more death there than on the plate of any meat eater. Your ignorance of agricultural practices is concerning, but not surprising when you've joined the cult.

MISLEADING INFO!!! WFPB, "whole food plant based" is NOT vegan. Totally different. WFPB eaters agree that veganism and vegetarian is not the best or healthiest. Oreos are vegan afterall. So don't slam the WFPB community or put them in the same category as Vegans until you know all the facts about it and read the thousands of studies about it . There is a huge difference. So sad that people misslead others with their lack of information and confusion about vegan and WFPB. (Plant based means just that) Less about the meat and Its more about omitting processed foods, junk foods, added chemicals etc. And can you honestly say, that eating those are healthy? Stop misleading people about the health benefits of eating cruciferous vegetables!!!!! Because they can also eat those on their keto diets. And why do you all think meat is the only source of protein, UGH!!!!

Veganism is an ethical position, not a diet. Even if eating corpses were amazing for your health, the way we obtain such products to supply an insane demand is problematic. Some people in this world fry dogs alive in festivals because they believe the meat tastes better that way. That's how you remove the ethics out of food completely.

      @@alissoncassiocosta You're making things up.
Most crops are grown for human consumption. The waste is given to livestock.
      An example would be soybeans.
It is rare that soybeans are fed directly to livestock these days because it was found the soy oil interferes with digestion.
It is first processed to remove the soy oil for human consumption and the waste is given to livestock as soy meal.
Corn is similar with ethanol, starch, flour...
Wheat is similar with beer, bread, pasta, sauces...
Why do you use animal products needlessly while only pretending to be against it?
Guess you enjoyed the festival you mentioned and feel guilty or something.
