Thanks for this! I usually explain to clients that Brand Identity is the complete set of values, qualities, and traits that comprise the brand, while Visual Identity is the visual expression of this through the elements you identified: color, typography, logo, imagery, photography, etc.
@@ivsonaguiar4979 It depends on the client, but ideally, it is all one package. If they want to break it up, the brand identity comes first because it's the foundation for everything that follows.
@@ivsonaguiar4979 Personally I give both because of two reasons. 1) If I do the brand identity and then they go to another designer to get the visual identity work done and they butcher it, it will piss me off and defeat all my hard work. 2) I do not wish to trouble my clients, to look for a designer to bring out the visual identity so yeah both of us get to be happy this way. However, if you're great at brand identity then sell that and get the visual part done by someone in your team. Hope this helps.
This simple video ordered my ADHD mind so fantastically. Been struggling with the order of some aspects of a design and now I know where I need to go to work on it, THANK YOU
Thanks for this video! I agree that visual identity is only a part of brand identity, but what trips me up is: How do you then distinguish brand strategy from brand identity?
That’s a great explanation and the chart illustrates it perfectly. I think it’s important to be able to clearly and concisely explain this (as you did❤) because clients don’t always understand the need for brand identity; they come for a logo and visual identity. Thank you James
Whaaaaaaat!, didn't know there was a difference between these two till today. Truth be told, this helped my perception towards these two aspects. Thank you James and The Futur
Was a very helpful video, yet the way you are explaining this is very distracting for me.. I don’t know if I am the only one telling you this, just wanted to let you know!
i agree. to many bells and whistles with the sound effects and the lost of visuals going on in the background, and the thinking while delivering the info. Not hating i got a lot of value from this just as someone with ADHD i found the deliver made me distracted.
this video makes you understand that 98% of designers on Instagram are wrong about their services
Thanks for your explination

As a designer, do you provide the complete brand identity pack, including visual identity, or is it sold as two separate items?
