Best signature snare sound Ever! AVH has been a huge influence on my drumming since i was 11-12yrs old & it still gets me pumped up hearing VanHalen & Im 47!!❤
A good sign of a Rock/Pop drummer is playing exactly what's needed, no more or less, instead of trying to squeeze every lick known to mankind in one song. Alex always seemed to play exactly what was needed... exactly what the song called for, thereby enhancing the song. Alex had his Neal Peart-style moments too, but always and only in the proper song. I miss Ed, Alex, and the guys. Alex had a good sense of timing and consistent tempo. No, ProTools to quantize the living crap out of everything... just all-natural heart, soul, and imperfect human feel. Imperfect human feel is what gives songs natural groove and flow without the modern, robotic mechanics of so much of today's music. "Before ProTools there were REAL Pros!" - Jay Graydon (session player, song writer, producer... did the lead on Steely Dan's "Peg")
@@QBtracksandstuff My 13yo drummer is obsessed with the double-kick. He can play 'Hot for Teacher' like a boss. His top 5 are Neil Peart, AVH, Dave Grohl, John Bonham and Buddy Rich.
Thank you so much for providing this isolated drum version of JUMP..I've been having a tough time trying to figure out the drum part during keyboard/guitar solo. A big thumb's up to you & A HUGE salute to Alex VH
Alex sounds awesome. I know there were a lot of electronic tom tom stuff going on throughout the "1984" album but boy does it sound great or what. As of now, I am uploading all Isolated Drums to my other channel @artistdrums
Thanks. Super cool to hear this by itself. Gotta love those roto toms. Glad this is a legit isolated track as opposed all of the AI versions that are popping up these days. Those just don't sound very good. I assume this came from Guitar Hero or something like that?
Alex is criminally underrated.
General consensus in 1985 was top five. Today the consensus still seems to be top 5.

My headphones are gonna blow up for how heavy that beat is thanks Alex Van Halen
As someone posted before, “that snare!”… I would only add, “that snare reverb!”… Thanks for the upload… Love it!

Sad that Alex is selling up.

The most underrated part of VH (Even Mikeys vocals get more praise)

A friend of mine sent them to me 👍

This isnt Alex
It is honestly
Doesn't sound like the take on the record
Oh really!
Ya think it might sound different with all the other instruments? 🤦♂️ Welcome to studio recording, clown. 🤡
