Wonderful performance, sound-man asleep for first two tunes but finally brought into balance to hear the concertina on the third tune .. then there was some craic .. Don't give a damn about the Cup! .. just to hear the music.

Gammel Prutte, you're right, normally we would have had much more say in where the mics were positioned. Unfortunately in this instance the mic arrangement was being changed by a sound supervisor after each act. We did ask for the camera angles to be considered but it didn't happen in this case. Hope you still enjoy the music.

Gammel Prutte : I agree, I'm used to use short microphone stands for these instruments (and probably 2 mics for the concertina ...)... It provides a better image. That said, the sound is great.

well, for a start, the pipes has two mics and the concertina has one! So it couldn't be right. The concertine (As far as I know) needs a mic on both sides.

Oh, the sound is OK -- I was referring to the positioning of the stands, which sound men seem to think are invisible. I want to see Mick's fingers.

    What are the tune names?

Superb playing -- but I would have thought that the camera man and the person who positioned the microphones could have worked together.

Ah I see. But still, the concertina could've been made a little bit clearer though.

Yes, the music is splendid and I always enjoy your videos, for which I thank you. I appreciate the difficulty of miking the players, especially those where the sounds come from different places -- but in this example particularly there seem to be superfluous stands just left there. In some of the shots it looks as if the poor chaps are in prison.
At least you are aware of it, so again, you have my thanks.
