Gifted player, combined with the work ethic. Interesting to hear that he struggled with confidence - from the outside looking in - he had it all. If not for the horror run of injuries, it is likely that he would have been one of our great centres
As a Mooloo and Chiefs guy, I was a massive fan of Richard Kahui. Great player when on the paddock, and blessed with good genes. I remember going to CHC in 2011 and seeing posters of Kahui, DC and SBW as All Blacks in the airport. Good looking lads those boys... In my U19 year got to play Tokoroa Pirates, they were great hosts after smashing us on the field. Excellent podcast Jimmy.
RK was a phenomenal 13/11. After his injury in 2009 I think he had a stink of a season in SR after rehabing. Couldn't catch a cold. He was picked on the bench to play Wales, came on and tore it up. Even TJ in the coms box called it out. Also, fun fact, my Canadian wife had a huge crush on RK. I messaged Weetbix to see if I could get a copy of his card. The liaison officer had a friend in the Chiefs and got me a signed photo for my wife. Forever grateful. For the photo and that the wife didn't leave me for him. 😉.
Its outrageous people were so crazy-nasty to Stephen Donald after that HK Bledisloe??!!#** Mooloo country! 🤐 tf is wrong with them? Worse still, that he took it so much to heart - - - poor lad, one for the "bucket" right there! Man a common thread, I've noticed through nearly all the interviews, is the toll being an AB takes on the body, the brand does so much for our country, up the players 🖤for what they give to it? It's interesting how when your guest was having constant injuries he also admits (if I have timelines correctly) that he had a more anxious mindset, then with confidence that comes with age & experience in later years and less pressure on himself --- he clocks a hundred games plus for the Western Force?! A bit airy-fairy for the "jersey" I know, but there are philosophies out there about mental patterns and injury etc! (But for sure it's a tough game, if not the toughest). Sad Richard Kahui has been plucked out of the NZ gene pool! Damn Ozzies! (ha Yeah, Na, good on her!) cheers What a Lad ✔ Like and Subscribe Mothe...............ers 😊

Richard Kahui exactly what the all blacks have miss since maa nonu someone the put fear in the opposition from running straight similar to what Steph Dutoit was doing against Jordie at World Cup

@@richardyoung4405 yea the lack of confidence surprised me to but just goes to show you never know how these guys are feeling on the inside
What a good guy, sports injuries are cruel. He is a great speaker and very good to listen to.
