You are so very right. The family you make is definitely more important than the family you came from. I really believe, and have raised my family to be very close and family oriented ❤❤❤
My goals this year is to be more present in the moments. Give myself more grace as I am my worst critic. Most importantly, exercise, exercise, and exercise as it really is essential to my health conditions, especially my lupus. You got this girl your family is amazing and you are a fantastic mother. Remember to give yourself some grace when life has other plans for you. ❤
I just wanted to say how calming your voice is! It makes your videos so relaxing.
Thank you so much!
Love your blanket, it's getting bigger. Thank you for sharing with us
I also love how you end your videos. Soothing! ❤
Thank you so much! 🥰
Your blanket is so pretty. I agree, i leave long tails too. You're smart to plan ahead and save too. I see you as very determined, you will do well. And youry teaching your kids through that too. God bless you Ella. 🙏🩷🤗
Thank you so much! I appreciate you!
Love your blanket ...
Love the idea of a no spend month in January. I’m planning one too but both of my kids birthdays are in January so it may not be the best month to try 😂 one of my personal goals is to declutter/ organize my life/ home.
I have set the goal of saying no when I am overwhelmed. I love to be of service to others but just need to know my limits. I struggle with putting myself first which of course affects my mental health. I love the video and the blanket! Hope you have a.great day!
That is so important! Setting boundaries is essential for our well-being.
Love the blanket❤
I had a huge goal to slowly go through the house and purge. I got 9 trash bags full of stuff from my closet and gave to a nursing home. But then got hit hard with back pain and arthritis pain throughout my body. So that is still my goal and I hope I can get back to it. Amazing what we accumulate!! Enjoyed your video. Inspired me to get my crochet out. Haven't touched it since the 1st of December! ❤
I hope you're able to get back to it! I'm so glad I could inspire you to pick up crochet again!
Your blanket is looking beautiful!
Love visiting with you! ❤
Really liked this video. I crocheted with you. I need to motivate myself to get up and walk. I sit and crochet/knit too much lol. Got to move. Hard to believe June is going to be 3!
I know! She's growing up so fast!
Hi there!😅😅😅😅
I started tying mine into a big ball and when it was basketball size My grandaughter and I started rolling it into a cake. she is a sweet ninny and had to name each cake. So it is the Pocohantus sakajawea scrap afghan. We cant fit all 12 into the name lol
That's so sweet!
I homeschooled my children for 8 years, and I cooked from scratch as much as possible. It takes a lot of planning ahead, and your crockpot will become your best friend. Bulk cooking meats and freezing them in portions also helps. Don't feel bad if you can't scratch cook everything. Like you said, it is hard to do in America now. I wish you and yours the very best for 2025, and I look forward to your videos!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to hear from others who understand the challenges of home cooking. I want to get a mini deep freezer in 2025 so I can batch cook more often and have things on hand.
This coming year will begin a new season in mine and my husband's life. We've sold our home as we're getting older and are unable to do all it takes to keep up the house and property. We will be moving hopefully to an apartment for seniors only as my husband is 79 and I'm turning 70 in February. I'm disabled and he has started having trouble with his hip and he still works for UPS in the warehouse. He will be retiring very soon.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. ❤
Hi Ella 🤗 both your words are great! I love how family orientated you are! 🙏🏼🥰🧶🤩
Aw, thank you so much! 🥰
Hope to see you and your kids more
I'll hopefully be sharing more family videos!
I think the new year is the perfect time to set goals. This year my goal is to try and get my health somewhat under control and learning new things 😊
Love the pattern on the blanket.😊
Heeeyy Ella! 👋🏽
We share a bunch of common goals. I’ll keep you posted on which ones I stay consistent with. 😬🫣
Love how the blanket is turning out
Hi Ella, me subscriber here. I absolutely love the way you think. We have very similar thoughts and feelings. My boys are 20, 18 and 13 and it's terrifying then getting older lol. But it's amazing to see the wonderful young men they're becoming. I have been blessed with great boys who are homebodies so I thank God for that. I will be bingeing your videos. I hope you have an amazing 2025 filled with blessings! Can't wait to see your coming videos. ❤
Hope to see more of you the kids this year
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy my videos. ❤️
I'm thinking my word will be hopeful.
Have a Blessed day
Ella
Thank you for sharing all your goals with us! It was nice to hear everything you want to do. 😛
I should sit down and figure out some for myself 🤪
💜🩵🥰🩵💜
You are very welcome! Happy to share and inspire! 😉
I was knitting the heel into my big Christmas Stocking and nodding away to you. I agree with you so much!!
I am having my words as Intentional, Slow and Simple. Doing things with purpose, at our own pace and in the way that suits us best.
You will do amazing with the no spend, its fun as it brings out your creative side. Just keep checking in with yourself and make sure you are in an ambundance mindset. Reminding yourself what you have when you notice what your going without. I struggle with it the most every year and just unplug when i need to stop accidentally comparing things.
Definitely utilise youtube with your movement, i like doing the just dance videos with my two and its silly so it gets us laughing which helps with keeping on track with food and not feeling down too. I wish you lived closer ♡
Im also focusing on our family unit. I also have been loosing alot of energy in people that dont care for it. No more, just our little family to focus on now.... not that my other family will be forgotten, but this is the garden im in charge of tending. I just know you can do anything you set your mind too. Think how amazing you have done with your markets!! You will be brilliant ♡ xx
I like that “garden I am in charge of tending”.
I like that, too.
"The garden I am in charge of tending".
I love this conversation while crocheting today from you. I need to come back to this conversation and spend more time listening to your plans so I can start my plans too.
Thank you for this chat.
Have a great, great day. Love yarn bunches. ❤️🤎💜🩵💙💚💛🧡🩷
Hi ella, your blanket is looking fantastic!. I was brought up to know that your own 4walls comes first. Husband & children ect. So i completely agree with you on this front. The rest of families come second. You have some fab ideas!. Mandy uk 🇬🇧 xxx😊❤
❤❤😊😊love Carolxxxx
Your blanket is turning out great…love all the colors! I love your words for the new year. I would like to make walking more of a priority in my daily routine. We have a very sedentary craft and I can really feel the damage in my knee joints…getting more and more stiff.
I hear you on the sedentary craft life! My knees are definitely feeling it too
Your blanket is so pretty with all of those beautiful colors. I don’t really have goals because they never are realistic. I just want to crochet more blankets to donate and enjoy my family as much as possible. Your goals sound reasonable. Good luck in the new year. 🧶💜🙏🏻
Thank you so much for this video. I need to do things with more intentions and do better with my spending!
Hi Ella,so nice crocheting with you. I’m crocheting a hat for donation…that’s my goal for 2025 to make more things to donate to those in need and to try and get a daily walk in.Wishing you and your family all the best in 2025.🎉❤️
Downsizing is one of my goals for 2025. Not only my yarn stash, but things I need to donate or dispose of. Another goal is to finish scanning all of my family photos, so I can organize them and share them with the family. ❤
I need to downsize too. I've slowly been doing it. But I think I'll focus on it in January!
Aww I remember when you guys got married!!! Hugs!
Even though we just got through moving last summer, we had to take this place. Cause it was all that was available. You have to go upstairs or downstairs to use a bathroom. And I have bad balance, bad back and Arthritis, so hopefully we can get our bills paid up this winter and move back to Austin minnesota, my husband is through with dialysis. He got a new kidney, so we want to go back where we came from. We're in Albert Lee right now. I don't like it. We're looking for a large, 2 bedroom or 3, with Central air washer dryer and garage. It's pretty hard to find. Thank you so much for sharing.
Love your blanket and chatting with you 😊
Ella,, on the movement thing.. I crochet for45 mins then 15 mins movement. It helps with hand stretches.. well thats just what I do.
That's a great idea!
I enjoyed your video. I am working on a blanket someone asked me to make. I haven't thought about any goals yet.
2025 is going to be the year of touching grass for my family. We plan on getting out of the house and visiting family, going to free community activities in our community and cutting screen time down. A personal 2025 goal is to participate in a daily activity that keeps my mind healthy.
Those are awesome goals! We love going to free community activities.
Hi! I'm going to start my first horn toad by Krafty Kait. ❤
Hi Ella, yeah,my kids r 35,36,my daughters birthday is January 4,she will b 29,this is the first year of my daughter teaching (high school ) the state we r in banned cellphones in class, she knows the kids will b totally lost when she tells them no phones & no earbuds in class, guess it's time to go backwards to the day of no phones, love your sweatshirt,I was considering crocheting the blanket u r currently making,I have Christmas colors to finish up,have a great day, stay warm
I have had words for 3 years now. My first was Joy. Then Seek. And in 2024, I had two but picked Proclaim. I might pick the other word Path for 2025, or I was thinking about the words Hope and Change.
I am trying to be intentional about losing weight, eatting healthier, and being mindful of what I spend my money on.
👏 👏 👏 👏
I'm going to do a no spend January too, and I'd like to keep going after that, I'll see how I go. 😬 I've never had a word, but love the idea, I'm going to choose consistency, I'd like to start some new healthy habits and routines and stick to them daily. I'd also like to lose weight and raise my fittness levels. Best of luck with your goals. 🍀🍀🍀
I go from light to dark. Often you will find depending what you are working on another row will be the opposite.
I am not a New Year Resolution gal, but I'm retiring in a few days, so my 2025 will look different. Goals: more sleep, learn to say no (or not today), more movement since I've noticed crochet isn't building me muscles 😂, and learning new skills. House projects, another language, and I want to learn how to play a musical instrument. Says the girl that has not found her musical talents YET.
I love your blanket! 😂
Those are some awesome plans! It's so annoying that crochet doesn't count as an exercise! 😂
Hi, I just found u, um I have been inspired to try a bullet journal this yr... The way u r trying to. do better for ur family.. Maybe something U want try???? Just an idea...tku...blanket is cute!!!
I've done bullet journals before! They are a lot of fun! I may try to do some more this coming year!
Oh, and my word of the year is "MONEY"
I'm doing 4 things to better my life. 1 No spend year, 2 working on my house in 5 minute increments three times per day, 3 getting down on the floor and getting back up (because I'm fat and old), 4 take a shower every other day (because I let personal hygiene lax when I'm depressed.)
That sounds like a great plan to me!
I want to lose weight!! That is my main goal!!
