Thanks for the hack white wax with white paint .. I’ll have to try that! I love painting with white chalk paint. Appreciate that you keep it real! I can relate to all your process in that furniture flip! You have a good attitude and getting more and more talented!
Wow! A beautiful transformation indeed. Good information on using primer to stop bleed through...I had no idea. Really like your tutorials, keep them coming👍💕
Thanks again D. Bird! And yes, priming with the right products will certainly help prevent bleeds. Thanks again for continuing to watch my videos, I really appreciate it!
Your pieces look great I myself use Rust-Oleum chalk paint and white and find that two coats covers it nicely just a thought so glad I found your Channel have a great day God bless
When I have a project that has a crack in which the wood is not completely broken off, I use a kitchen marinate syringe injector that I fill up with glue. It facilitates the application or 'injection' of the glue in those tight & narrow creases and areas. The 'chamber' or syringe dispenser where you insert the glue, is see through so you can visually determine how much you've added (and used). Plus the syringe's needle hole is wide enough for the thickness of the glue to pass through and not clog. I think it's better than brushing the glue in or using my fingers. Another added advantage is that I hardly waste any glue now. I add what I know I need into the syringe, point, inject and voilá. Wash off the syringe easily. I also feel this kitchen one is better than the other real diy glue syringes that are sold because this one has a very long & thin syringe, it's reusable, better quality, washes easier and it's less expensive. IMO Anyways, just don't use it to marinate your tenderloin afterwards 😂
Have you ever tried using either Zinnser BIN or Bullseye 1-2-3 primer before painting white? They're both available in spray, and I've never had bleeds with them. In case you haven't, I'd say the Bullseye is easier to work with but the BIN dries faster.
@@FurnitureFlippa Definitely worth a try. BIN dries almost immediately and cleans up with ammonia, but it can be tricky. Bullseye is water-based and a lot more forgiving. BIN blocks absolutely everything (tannins, cigarette smoke, blood, you name it). Bullseye says it can too, and so far it hasn't disappointed me. Even pine knots don't bleed through.
@@tresawilkins7159 I don't have any experience with blocking animal urine, so I can't tell you that with certainty. However, the can claims it does, and others online have agreed. Since Zinsser BIN is white, though, you wouldn't be able to see the wood any more. I'm also not sure how it would handle foot traffic. Zinsser makes another product called Odor Killing Primer. I've never used it. It's water-based, so the cleanup would be much easier. Hope this helps some.
@@BR0JASON I've just tried the Zinsser Odor blocking primer and it works very well. I actually purchased it by accident thinking it would help conceal 2 cigarette burns on a teak table. The burns are not (burnt) deep into the wood, but rather a surface one. Still though, 2 cigarette burns on a beautiful teak table is ughhh. My goal was to avoid sanding it too much.
Tables turned out just BEAUTIFUL 🌟💫 I am enjoying going back through all your projects! I have a tip for you when painting white furniture....instead of using poly or lacquer for top coat...use just wax...clear or white.....the others tend to pull the tannins out....wax will seal them in! Less work and no new bleed through during finishing process......another tip is if you find tannins peaking through during painting process try spray shellac just on areas with bleed through....then continue painting!,,might take a few tries but drys super fast.....so it doesn’t hold you up to complete your projects! Really like your videos.....you do a great job! Thank you for sharing😊kim
Very nice 😊 I just completed a set of 2 white end tables with black hardware. For all the time I’ve been flipping furniture, this is my first white piece. I just never use white. I generally do 2 tones and white just never configures into the equation, lol
Those look fresh and modern. Beautiful job. I love the sounds when you speed up your video, your Bosch sander squeaks...Lol Btw: You can also spray shellac directly on any bleed through and paint over it after it dries.
you could get one of those attachable handles for spray paints to make easier on your hands and so idk where to get them but there's this other channel "desert diy" corey uses this handle thing for spray paints

Meticulous work. I hope you try chalk paint as it’s designed for furniture and I’ve heard that other types could end up peeling. Well done video. I appreciate to the point videos.
Have you tried other paints? I've had pretty good luck with chalk paint. I'm trying out different companies right now, so I don't have a favorite. It gives pretty good coverage on just a couple coats. If you've tried others, I'd love to hear about them.
White chalk paint is definitely the way to go for coverage. This behr paint was not doing a good job. An easy option is rust-oleums white chalk paints!
Im sorta new to all this, and im not sure the point of wax as a top coat if you have to reapply it about every 6 months. Maybe that's not true for all waxes?
It really depends on the piece and how often its used. If its a frequently touched/used piece wax might not be best if you don't understand the product. Its used because it gives a great looking sheen when buffed. Its still very durable once cured and can last a long time no problem!
You definitely need a finish. Doesn't have to be wax, could be polyacrylic. Since white paint, we don't want yellowing so avoid certain polys that tend to yellow.
@@just_a_guy13 your market really matters, so take a look at what is available and the prices this can kinda help you get a better understanding of what things will sell for. Good luck!
Consider using Benjamin Moore's Advance paint! You won't need a poly or a wax. Plus use their Stix primer. It's a high bonding primer that usually only needs one coat. Your work is great but, your working too hard! One coat of primer and two light coats of Advance and your done!
Wise advice about enjoying the process and taking time...hard to do but essential. You can see the details nicely in the white colour
They look good. Nice to see some white furniture.
thanks!
They look great! I like that you kept the original drawer pulls.

These would look GREAT in my coastal home here in South Carolina 😍
You find the greatest pieces to refinish!
Thank you! FB Marketplace is a dangerous place lol
If you find bleed through, take some spray shellac over the area then do your next coat.
you did a beautiful Job .uch handsome pieces keep up the great work .
Really nice results here.
I've never heard of white wax! That's awesome 👌
Nicely done.Love the white and black.clean and classy.

Very sharp looking. Can't wait for the table. Smart white wax finish.
Thanks Belinda! Tomorrow I will be working on the table all day! Hopefully get the video out by the end of the week. Cheers

Very informative and I admire your talent.
Fyi: The next time you want to paint furniture white, try Rust-Oleum Chalked Paint in Linen White. It should give you solid coverage.
Yeah, I realized the paint I was using wasn't the best. Chalk paints cover better, that's for sure. Thanks for the tip!!

White paint is tough. That Rust-Oleum chalk paint is the bomb.

Yes the linen white does have nice coverage. If you’re looking for an off-white chiffon cream is very nice as well.
Maybe I'm just a purist but the hardware was gorgeous to begin with.
The handles were nice the way they were with the brown, but it wouldn't have matched with the white.
