Farm to Mouth & Table: Harvesting Berries and Fruits

Summer is about to come to an end in our beautiful town. Fruit trees and berry hedges (we call them fredges - fruit hedges) have done well in our Urban Permaculture Garden this year. We have been harvesting them for the past few days. Some of the harvest is going straight from the plants into our tummies (because we do not use spray any chemicals on these plants and let them grow organically) while some is being preserved for use over the winter months. Our harvest includes apples, pears, strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, and blackberries.
