- I watched the DCS Kola Peninsula Map release trailer today and this was the best part to me. New Viper Pilot model will be awesome and takes me back to my time in the 35th Fighter Squadron supporting 40 line pilots and 25 F-16C Block 30 jets. Pantons class of 93' [Push It Up!] ~ Juice
NOTE: I have already reported the error on the back of the helmet with the missing JHMCS power and information cable. The Housing is there, but no cable. I'm sure they will get it fixed.

Finally! Now wouldn't it be cool if you could walk up to the jet and climb the ladder and strap in and your crewchief helps you hook up!
Coming soon.
We could only hope!
Maybe for a CoD game?
Exactly, DCS really isn't a video game like the others portray in this regard. I feel some of the frustrations within the DCS community stems from the expectation of such. The fact is, Digital Combat Simulator is in its name. All of the others are just games.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Hear, hear, for less fidelity there is also War Thunder
Physics based cables! Destructuable trees next???
Naahh, that would actually improve the gameplay. And ED is only interested in attracting more fresh players that will bring more money with beautiful promotion videos.
The destructible trees would be nice but not really needed. But don't crash into them 😀
@@victorhartman1904 Good point!
What are physics based cables?
He may be referring to the carrier arresting cables in similar motion to the helmet bladder air hose that is shown in this video.
i cant wait! im so tierd of sitting in an empty cockpit when i play the viper, i always turn the pilot model on if i can! the dynamic movements look incredible, the inertia effects his torso and the natural movement of his arms when he turns his head looks so good! was really dissapointed it didnt come with this update, hopefully at the end of the month!
I usually only turn mine on when I'm taking a picture of something in the cockpit to make it look like the pilots in there, but for the most part, I leave it off so I can see all my switches and engages when I look around
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP ye when i need to see a switch i just turn it off
Thanks!
Damn this is seemingly such a small change but at least for me it amplifies the immersion ten-fold lol.
I'm loving the evolution of DCS.
Looks amazing. Been needed for a long time
Take notice to the slight movement of the tubbing routed to the back of the helmet at 0:10? Ah.....I think we might see some new Tanker Hose physics soon!!
That would be cool!!! I reached out recently to my developer contact with ED and recommended. They also add the white markers on the refilling hose for MPRS
Hopefully the end of May patch/update with the Kiowa along with smart weapon fuses to fix the JDAMs
I think you are onto something...they really teased that in the Orbx Kola Map video today didn't they? Did you see the helmet bladder hose movement at :10 into this teaser? Some guys complain about the pilot's chunky head movement, but I wonder if you have your settings cranked up, does it move more fluidly. I'll have to test that when I do my Aircrew Flight Equipment review video after this module update comes out. I also am working on having one of my Viper Pilot friends join me for the discussion.
that was the only thing i noticed from the video they released
Me too...I'm not on the new maps purchase train but give me viper updates all summer long 😀
looks cool how the pilot sways in response to start/stop rolls
I'm thinking it's depending upon client graphics settings possibly when it comes to the amount of movement, or might not be.
About damn time, looking forward to it
AMEN!
100% about damn time, 100% needed, and 100% looking amazing!
AMEN!
Now thats what we need for the Mirage 2000 😂
Indeed, more Fidelity, and all the cockpits would be great. I'm hoping for a fully functional F - 15C
We should fly sometime in the near future
Where do you fly at Don?
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP I hang out in the 4YA servers.
I'll try to find time for that.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP my current problem is, I bought 227 inch monitors so I can set up a three screen, but I can’t figure the damn thing out
I'm not familiar with multiple monitors but RUclips and Google might help.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think the little things are magic in DCS. Many people complain about all of the shortcomings that really aren't shortcomings for DCS. They're just fluff for other video games. For me it's what you do with DCS in your teamwork experience.
Speatchless,... i have no words to say ❤️ just DCS is AMAIZING
That looks so good. Can’t wait! Any idea if it is a translation of the player’s head tracking data?
The helmet of the pilot does move around as I move around with head tracking now, I think the smoothness or Fidelity of it really depends on the client user settings on level of detail. Kind of like the outside train looks different for people in different settings.
oke, so all that movement, rigging of the cables, physics (most likely?). Is that actually the plan? Even the head movement looks smooth, but I assume this will still be controlled by the player camera and so log rigid. So, how real are all these small animations, and does it really matter (unless your doing cinematics)? Do other jets have this too?
I think it has to depend on your settings level to see that movement where is guys with lower and rigs have to turn their settings down for performance, and if you have them cranked all the way up and have enough processing power, you'll see the movement animations. It's kind of like in the Apache with the equipment hooks in the cockpit.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP cool stuff!
Thanks!
Just would like to mention that we can see working mfds while outside the pilot's perspective instead of the usual low quality cockpit, could it be a new camera mode?
Think it's just an unrestricted cockpit camera they use for the trailers. If you look completely left/right and pause then skew the camera to it's extremities you can see the head model pop back when you're in the Hornet.
@@Amvienttz Didn't know they had such thing.
Thanks for the info! \(^o^)
Totally, thanks
Exactly what he said comment below. I need to figure out how to use that other higher quality camera better.
Neat, looked good
The little things ED gives us...I love it!
Outstanding
I think ED is doing great with these little details. We've come a long way from 2008!
are the aircraft skins in the trailer a mod? or are they coming soon?
Hey Nathan...those are new Royal Norwegian Air Force F-16s and will be updated in DCS as well.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP awesome! I can’t check right now but are they in game right now or will they come out in the next update
I checked last night after this little update to see if the pilot model was changed and it has not been changed yet. But I didn't think to look and see if the aircraft livery was in.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUPdope, thanks!
I'm hoping that they ad RNLAF skins as well.
did you add pilot emotes ?
No, just stocked footage from the Kola trailer.
damn
🫡I love it!
When F16 sale on Steam 🤑!?
I don't really know, everyone I know uses DCS Standalone for the benefits.
More drums... ;]
Yes! I listened to this on my stereo headphones on the PC and the "boom" at the very end was pronounced. But on my phone and tv not so effective.
i rlly want it as it looks so nice the map but not sure to get syria or that or afgan. anyone got any help to buying first map
I have all of the maps up through South Atlantic and I love Syria. I'm not a video gamer, so I think that the Nevada map is the best map in DCS world because it's where the real big kids train for warfare. 🤪 Maps are like modules, you'll find something you like or hate with them all. The real problem with most of the challenges people have enjoying DCS is that most of them came over here because they thought it was a video game.
Two weeks?
You know, that might actually be almost true...I'm thinking the last week of May...fingers crossed!
🙂👍

Whats the point when 90% shift P's right from the start. Lmfao better fix the delay in this bird
It's for the outside view when people are looking over at you and formation. Even if you have shift with the pilot in you, can't see your helmet.
hey look, another random visual thing that is purely cinematic and doesn't enhance gameplay further. No ai improvements, no SC, no dynamic campaign.
Enhances my experience...as well as the others who agree. Enjoy DCS amigo!
I don't understand why people want a piolet in the seat. I mean, if Emerson is what you're after, why do you want someone else to be where you're supposed to be?
When you are driving, do you see your legs and hands? Imagine how wrong it would feel if you couldnt. Thats why a lot of us dont like to fly without pilot models
It makes a massive difference if you fly in VR. For me it connects me to the aircraft. An empty cockpit with the controls seemingly moving on there own just kills the immersion. Interestingly, before I got a vr headset I'd never use the pilot model but there was always that disconnect when using a flat screen, even with trackir. I've had the F16 module since day one and since I got vr about a year ago I've not flown it. The best pilot models are Razbams F15 and EDs F18, they have some movement as you turn your head. I saw the pilot model in the Kola trailer and was really impressed.
This is the external flight model pilot only. Hardly any of us fly with the pilot turned on because it's easier to see inside the cockpit without it. But if you look at the external pilot model now you can see old equipment, old mask and not highly detailed graphics.
This is purely the outside pilot model appearance, as if you look at the one now it's not highly detailed graphics and and has the wrong equipment.
That's a good point and with VR people are able to lean forward and see around their body. Imagine if they had some type of suit where you could move your leg and your leg would move in the jet so that you could move it over to the side to see something in the center panel 😀
