I was inspired to look at Appletree's products from this review. I dreamed about the Appleslice V3 since May and I managed to pull the trigger just recently. Yesterday I had the first session with it and I was blown away... After more than one year of "arrested development" because of what I suspected was "wrong gear" I can now officially confirm it was indeed the reason. I wish I had made this decision earlier, the best board for me so far. Thank you guys, some of the advice of this review stuck with me and made me understand what I was missing from the gear I owned.
This is great to hear!
Excellent looking t-shirt Rich, where can I buy myself one of those?!
Excellent choice
Epic video guys! Keep em coming
Wang Lordz! Nice touch. 😂
Thanks for the review! Did you ride it with North Foils as well? I‘m always afraid of nose-down riding if the board has not enough tail rocker 😅
We did, it has a nice long track which helps gets the mast position just right. The nose gives plenty of help in touch downs and take offs too
great review guys.. Can I ask which size are you riding in the video
Thanks, hope it's helpful. The board in video is the 80L - 5'4 x 22.5" x 4.60"
I'm running a Appletree Slice V2 @70l - should I downsize to 60l on the V3 - the board would be a daily driver?
Hard to give a direct answer as it all depends on your size, conditions and riding style.
Dropping 10L will feel much more lively and fun to ride. The (narrower) V3 60L will gather speed as quick and easy as the 70L V2, but dropping 10L if it is significantly under your body weight can make the difference between riding or swimming home in light conditions.
if you drop you'll probably find you might loose a few knots of bottom end sessions, but gain more fun in the average to good sessions.
After a little adaption time.
I'm assuming the wing you are using in the video is from brain Child. When will these be available in stores? Nice T-shirt
Hey, they looks sick hey! They are indeed a custom from Brainchild. They complement our reviews and fly great, currently not plans for them to hit stores
Fresh garms
Looks great! How does it compare to the Omen Flux? Same factory, similar general use board.
Hey, neither of us have tried the Omen Flux yet to be able to give an honest comparison. You are right they both have similar spec and brief. The Bottom shape is quite different though, I would imagine the Slice v3 takes off and recovers easier, whilst the Flux touches down less on the carve, but unfair to say until trying. Will make a note to let you know when we do
@@poseidonwatersportsuk Thanks a lot! Looking forward to it. MacKiteboarding seems to be stoked on the Omen.
The flux has more of a v-hull with rear chines. They do have a similar shape though. I proned and kited the 36L. I reckon that would be hard to wing on although they have much larger volumes offered. AT has light boards, but they come at a cost…. Very delicate. You need to handle these boards very carefully. Not so easy when frothing. 😂
