The SNES version of Aladdin (1993) follows the plot of this Disney movie much more closely than its Genesis counterpart ( tasvideos.org/4215M ).
The core trick of this TAS is to abuse the parachute extensively to move faster than normal walking or jumping.
Thanks to numerous small improvements, the time has been lowered by 15.5 seconds compared to the author's previous ( tasvideos.org/872M ) attempt. We recommend reading his comments ( tasvideos.org/1961S ) for more detail.

Seriously though, fooling around during auto-scroll segments is a staple of confident speedrunning and a _necessity_ for an entertaining TAS video. 👍

@@JoLiKMC TASpeed is just a part of a much bigger Tool Assisted Super gaming. And besides it probably took the poster lots of tries,. Eddits "re-records" and confidence is a thing. Thier's a TASSBot tas of SMB3 with mario juggling a turtle shell. I have no idea who the persoS that wrote that TAS script found out durring the autoscroll you can juggle shells and the alowences and tollerances for hit boxes is well beyond normal. I'm guessing to collect garbage and clean up 15 something worlds of schinanigans behind the scenes and basically flush out the games memory somhow.

I find funny how sometimes Aladdin goes so fast that the Abu animation has to go literally over spikes and thruough walls just to be able to keep up, and even then it's not enough. It just appears at the end of stages out of thin air.

i will always watch TAS speed runs over regular speed runs, its just more incredible seeing that happens when the human limitations us uncapped.

It’s a TAS ( Tool Assisted Speedrun) they have save states and can slow the game. It is to show theoretical bests, not what is achievable by human standards.

TAS significa Tool Assisted Speedrun. O cara fez um troço pro computador jogar, e ele consegue apertar umas combinações de botões que a gente nunca vai conseguir mesmo...
@@MrNabeshin021 Tem umas TAS que são feitas na raça por pessoas também. Esses de combo no Street Fighter por exemplo, tem uns caras que fazem na mão mesmo, e tem que manjar muito dos combos pro TAS ficar interessante. Fiquei sabendo por um amigo aí que um gringo demorou uns 10 anos pro TAS dele ficar 100% pronto.
o cara não fez um "troço" pro computador jogar, o cara jogou frame a frame. O computador não fez nada, apenas emulou.
@@Amaraticando Mano, no vídeo do carinha ensinando a como fazer TAS, ele tava fazendo um do Megaman X2, e só nesse começo aí que ele foi tentando ensinar, já da pra notar como é um porre fazer um TAS. Se no começo com ele voltando os frames toda hora pra tentar fazer um movimento perfeito já foi uma droga, imagina fazer isso com o jogo inteiro. A galera que fica desmerecendo os caras que faz TAS, chamando eles de cheaters e o krl a 4 nem sabem como é foda fazer essas paradas.

Fast. Remember people this is a Tool Assisted Speed run (TAS). You literally go frame by frame/ second by second to input the controller buttons. It probably took many hours/days to do the inputs for this TAS.
I bet a few seconds or more could be shaved off, I did see some "errors". But that would be hard to do.

The Genesis version was fun, and definitely looked better, but I always preferred the SNES version. The acrobatics felt more like Aladdin than swordplay did.

During the “stage clear” screen, it takes time for the collected red gems to appear on screen, which is why he avoids them (though he did get 1 in the second stage.)
For a speedrun, the object is to save as much time as possible (which may come down to hundredths of a second).
