Karon, read some biographies and interviews. Heroes on stage are different than heroes at home; they have their own conflicts and problems. But if God made "peace" with music to help us, these two have surely done that!
We were at that show. Everyone...including Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves and Joe Walsh was just wonderful. I found myself with a big, stupid smile throughout the evening.
This is out of this world. Only Vince can sing so beautiful.. I admired him for so long, he is the King of Countrymusic an one of the best guitarist on our planet.

"Taylor tells Billboard he wrote "Bartender's Blues" for his 1977 "JT" album explicitly with Jones in mind. "He had a huge influence on me," Taylor recalls. "He's a real innovator and one of the most remarkable American singers anywhere. So I had written this song, 'Bartender's Blues,' as a tribute to him and with him in mind. It's got a predictable set of changes and a very simple song, but it was definitely 100 percent George Jones that I was trying to do -- like so many other people." more...
JT normally sings this tune in the key of E and he's being quite the trooper taking a vocal lead, straining hard to hit those higher notes while this song is played in the key of G to accomodate Vince Gills much higher natural vocal register. Great musicians!
I love the beautiful harmony in their singing of the chorus. I must admit to being disappointed that Vince Gill muffed the lyrics, losing some of the more graphic mental picture of the bartender watching someone fall down on his knees.
Absolutely outstanding. Two of the greatest talents alive!
If these two heroes ruled the planet, what a wonderful world this really would be.

Love both of these guys. Two great legends right there.
This duet is absolutely beautiful, they should do more.
The voices of Vince and James together- proves again that music is the speech of angels.
Would love to see you two do a project together. Would be sublime.
Stellar performance by two of the finest singers and pickers on the planet.

Bret Hedenkamp key of c
Yup. Key of "C". While JT does it in Bb on his album recording. So, my piano tells me.
Aaron Lewis covers it, and seems to be tuned down a half-step, playing it in "A",...which essentially turns out to be "Ab".
JT....ooh, I know that one!
Somebody tell me what harmony part Mr.Taylor is singing, please.
Not familiar with that song, but it's beautiful. Love that old country sound, almost like a lullaby. :)
It was a HUGE hit for The Possum (George Jones).
More James Taylor please. Too bad Linda Ronstadt can't do backup.
James didn't know what je created
Mmmm. Like vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce.
The jealousy of our youth.
