So the way ogres are made is like giving somebody a steak, but instead of letting them eat it, they smack it round they're face until they hate it. Nice
+Nathan Lang clearly the ogre out-thought you then. If you ever notice the tactical positioning of gologoroth, and all ogres in general, they are usually behind a force and will only fully charge once enraged. (Their might side takes over) If anything, the ogre is more strategic than you are, and you are merely the brute firing wildly into its face, or slashing here and there without abandon.
Cipher 064, the Underwhelming Gamer And I'll point you to the explanation of how opposing forces, swords, and light level in destiny. The ogres are outsmarting this fellow for sure. Doesn't mean they will win.
derpy hooves perhaps they are smarter than the thrall, but i never see them take cover. they just stand in one spot and shoot you, regardless if they are alone or hidden behind boomers. im not saying they are dumb, as they can clearly path around obstacles to get to you, it just seems that either "cunning" is used lightly, or they don't utilize their full potential. maybe they are just too blinded by rage to think. idk.
Interesting fact. Golgoroth is also a name of a monster from the writings of HP Lovecraft. I was also trying to make some conncetions between Golgoroth and the Rom the Vacious Spider from Bloodborne, however never made it to the final version :)
Have you looked into the description of the dreadfang sword from the new update the quote seams to be oryx sister and his failure and also sword logic.
NOTE/CORRECTION: Thanks to Ali Dakhaikh and Sam Predmore who made a very obvious correction. How can the orbs of light belong to Guardians if we are the first to board the Dreadnaught? This is why you guys are great because I totally did not think of that simply rebuttal that would disprove my speculation. Thanks for leaving the comments and corrections, as it improves the channel and I read them. Sort of disappointed that it could not be plausible now :( lol
+Myelin Games They may not be guardians, but it´s still likely that the orbs are other creatures allied to the Light. Also, even if we were the first to board the Dreadnaught, there is a chance Golgoroth could go out of the cellar and hunt outside. After all, Ogres are weapons, and Golgoroth is the strongest.
But doesn't Tolands journal talk about how a guardians light fades as they pass deeper and deeper through the drednaught. So isn't it possible that guardians may have been but there is simply little to no memory of them??
about the reclaimed light: it may not be human guardians, but maybe previous agents of the traveler, like the eliksni or other races from the books of sorrow. whose to say they couldn't have boarded the dreadnought?
Hope you find my lore skills better than my raid skills :/ The lore poll to select your own topic will be coming back soon, however I just wanted to get a couple of videos out the way first. Also I have an elaborate plan to increase how much I am streaming. A friend gave me an old PC, which I fixed yesterday, my parents had an internet upgrade which should allow me to stream at 720. So I am planning on setting up a streaming headquarters at their place, as you can imagine they are pretty thrilled. :) stay tuned.
also, since all of the weapons you're using are said weapons you can increase you're damage against bosses by just switching do a different weapon instead of reloading it. They reload themselves when you don't use them.
+Daylon Orr right!, I always forget that. The sniper I had was one I just got, so thought it did not have cocoon on it yet. When I stream, I plan to alternate between RUclips stream and Twitch stream
The spider draining the light is a reference to Ungoliath in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Sillmarillion,." Who killed the trees of light, drinking their sap until the world was clouded in the blackest ink.
I wish Peter Jackson would make a movie of some sort concerning something in the First Age, such as the Children of Hurin perhaps. It could be pretty damn good
just wanted to say that if you look at the grimoire card for the might of crota in the destiny app, toland says that they are tormented by the light so your theory about the thrall being tortured by light to become ogres is confirmed.
Awesome video. That's crazy the orbs we shoot down are victims of Golgoroth and pure light. I never thought of that. Ur videos always give me more to think about with destiny lore. Keep up the great work
Awesome video. I'd like to add that the 'orbs' in golgoroths room that have that taken goo inside (the ones you shoot for the damage buff) look to be similar to spider eggs. I wonder, what if maybe those 'eggs' were to hatch without getting shot up first. If the middle one spawns golgoroth than what will the others be? The way I see it, is that those things are like food packages that are prepared for oryx. If you shift your attention to when we first board the dreadnaught, we have to disable the 'weapon' or oryx' massive planet cannon. The energy source was a taken 'blight' sort of thing but compressed within a forcefield type thing, similar to the orbs in golgoroth stool. What if these 'eggs' are like a reserve stash for oryx that golgoroth collects from light in the solar system, not necessarily from guardians but from the traveler. These stashes could have been used to maintain oryx in his time between before killing akka and devising a plan to kill akka.
As an extension, we know oryx could not continue to feed his worm due to his increasing strength. These light packages could have been a way of oryx sustaining himself slowly. I know that it is a bit far fetched, but I kind of like to see it fit in there, mainly due to the time period of when auryx became oryx and when oryx turned his throne world into the our universe.
+destan5568 this is pretty much what i was thinking. I initially was going to mention that maybe golgoroth is involved in some way in making it blighted light, like poisoning it
+destan5568 this is pretty much what i was thinking. I initially was going to mention that maybe golgoroth is involved in some way in making it blighted light, like poisoning it
+Myelin Games I can relate yeah. I do some research on destiny lore but it was not rich, until I found your videos. Watching your every video now while I'm eating, or studying, its relaxing and rich content.
+Myelin Games Also, I want to know more about how actually traveller and the speaker cannot trusted theory, from the beta information. Can you make a video about that subject too? because in the cards, there are lots of info mentioning how guardians are mindless zombies, or how traveler is going different planets and bring destruction within. There was a lot about this on black garden card. I would like to hear your opinion about all this.
If you look at the wiki page for hp lovecrafts golgoroth this comes up: Gol-goroth (The Forgotten Old One) appears as a titanic, black toad-like monstrosity with an impossibly malevolent glare, or a tentacle covered, scaly, bat-winged entity. However, its physical form may alter to fit the worst nightmares of whoever is viewing it (spider-like to an arachniphobic person, etc.).
Surprising fun fact, Golgoroth is apparently taller than Phogoth but shorter than Morgeth, making it the second largest Ogre in the series. Though Phogoth and Infantile are the only Ogres present in the game that make the camera shake with every step that they take.
I have a speculation of my own in which I would like to elaborate on even just a little. During one of the missions in which we return to Crota's netherworld "Last Rites" Eris morn uses a teleportation technique she says she learned from toland. And toland as you know has somewhat of a legacy of hanging around hive. If toland learned teleportation from observing hive then that could mean the Hive upper class or high ranks like Crota may have the same ability. As we know crota wreaked havoc on the moon as his shadow-Not his full complete form-So maybe in an attempt to prove his worth he would send hordes of massacred guardians to Golgoroth through teleportation which in turn allowed Golgoroth to liquidate them into their purest form, light which would support your speculation without fully ignoring to acknowledge the fact we are the first to board the dreadnaught. That's just my speculation, btw orbweaver.
wait, guardians can only be killed by having their light, their ghosts light drained, or their ghost damaged. Let's assume for a moment that the guardians golgoroth had liquefied ghosts are still intact, wouldn't that mean they. were still alive? no body, just the light that made them.
The thing that blew my mind was the spider symbol for pool of reclaimed light and most of all the light u step In is dead guardians! Myelin you open my eyes in every video!
Wait if this ritual is strong enough to turn a thrall into an ogre, what would happen if the same ritual was performed on a knight or ascendant hive, wouldn’t that create a monstrous ogre-knight?
I don't think so knights are very old thralls they tell us that within the game lore and for the ascendant god or those superior hive beings pretty sure it won't work they don't process like that they are used to kill each other to become more powerful and they have special ritual that doesn't cause pain
Ogres are taught to hate the light they so dearly crave, and in turn this brings them pain; making them more ferocious. Thus it may be safe to assume that the reclaimed light orbs within Golgoroth's chamber are there to cause Golgoroth pain, making him infinitely stronger.
the orbs of light could just be light that was passed up through the ranking, or they were previous victims of golgoroth before he was in the dreadnaut. they could also be something put there by oryx used to torture golgoroth even further.
+Levity the Leviathan yep, i also agree with this. I don't think j mentioned it but my other theory was that golgoroth converts the light into blighted light for oryx consumption
This was what was going on in the mission Chamber of Night, I assume? And I figured that tablet of ruin had some lore implications; I wonder if all the raid mechanics are lore based. Anyway, enjoyed the video!
+Ali Dakhaikh I see what you mean now!! how would there be orbs from the ceiling if we are the first :/ now this destroys my specualtion.... buggger. lol
+Myelin Games I'm not nitpicking, just really interested in the source of the light! It could be from guardians lost in the disaster at the moon, or maybe other source!
+Myelin Games The Fallen were one of previous owners of the light, which is why they hate us so much. They are jealous of our power that they once held. Also there were other users of the light before us; the hive tends to follow the Traveler because wherever it goes the Hive are granted a feast of light filled organisms. The orbs must be those before the guardians of our solar system such as the Fallen.
Myelin do you think the giant shard of the traveler was used to make Golgoroth/Pogoth?? It seems like a bunch of light that could he used to hurt them. In the mission aswell we see 4 hive wizards around the massive shard. Maybe they were performing the ritual to make pogoth.
Gulrot was created by wizards in the prison of elders out of desperation and madness to escape the prison. As for his title it's unclear but my theory is that Gulrot's verry creation was useless to the hive's dishier to kill light and deemed unholy in the hive pantheon
light has existed as long as the darkness, maybe the orbs of light are of other species that wielded the light but were unsuccessful in the many conquests of the taken king
Orb weaver. I banish thee into the depths of the Kings abyss. Shall you be confronted, your prey shall belong to Himself, and shall you be defeated, your soul shall rest within His hide.
Golgoroth is also a spider because he has legs on his back. Like legit the fist time I saw the disgusting thing I just thought I was an ogre that mutated with a spider that died on its back.
So if the hive can't distinguish between love and war and they are waging war against us, does that mean they love us? I'm not sure if I'm ready for that kind of relationship
Wait, I have an idea. The Khvostov 7G-0X's description says it is renewed and enhanced by Light, and the hive want to eat Light, so we can stop the hive from killing by donating unwanted Khvostovs!
So the way ogres are made is like giving somebody a steak, but instead of letting them eat it, they smack it round they're face until they hate it. Nice
Lone Hound correction: until they hate a cow (steak filled being)
Interesting analogy
Lmao
ogres: Might: yes, Cunning: only technically.
I have yet to see them use their head for anything other than conjuring laser beams.
LOL!
+Nathan Lang clearly the ogre out-thought you then. If you ever notice the tactical positioning of gologoroth, and all ogres in general, they are usually behind a force and will only fully charge once enraged. (Their might side takes over)
If anything, the ogre is more strategic than you are, and you are merely the brute firing wildly into its face, or slashing here and there without abandon.
+derpy hooves Well, whatever their strategy it clearly isn't working because all fights with Ogres ends with them as a pile of ash on the floor.
Cipher 064, the Underwhelming Gamer
And I'll point you to the explanation of how opposing forces, swords, and light level in destiny. The ogres are outsmarting this fellow for sure. Doesn't mean they will win.
derpy hooves perhaps they are smarter than the thrall, but i never see them take cover. they just stand in one spot and shoot you, regardless if they are alone or hidden behind boomers. im not saying they are dumb, as they can clearly path around obstacles to get to you, it just seems that either "cunning" is used lightly, or they don't utilize their full potential.
maybe they are just too blinded by rage to think. idk.
If the hive inflicts pain as a way of showing love, does that mean that the ogres got extra love?
Maybe they secretly enjoy it ;)
BDSM CULT, FORM OF, OGRES!!!
They're masochists. So? We are gonna kill them even if they weren't kinky.
No Golgoroth is not the most powerful ogre in the game. That level 18 ogre. He has the ability to blink.
casartherandom 😂
casartherandom It's obviously The Wretched Eye Ogre. he is legit immortal until you kill the splicer.
casartherandom It's the first Ogre you fight in the game. It's confirmed it was actually the Darkness testing you.
Takaithepanda golgroth is the most badass ogre ever so he wins
He will eat the splicer and the ogre
when you guys started looking up the War priests butt, I couldn't stop laughing
Very Punny Orange Joke i did that too and found out the ass was nothing but a disappointment for a creature of that size.
damn, that lore got deep towards the end. kinda creepy with the hanging sacks of light.
+SpockCanYouSaveme hehe right.
Interesting fact. Golgoroth is also a name of a monster from the writings of HP Lovecraft. I was also trying to make some conncetions between Golgoroth and the Rom the Vacious Spider from Bloodborne, however never made it to the final version :)

also the warpriest doesnt have a full name too! so maybe him next?
Have you looked into the description of the dreadfang sword from the new update the quote seams to be oryx sister and his failure and also sword logic.
Myelin in geek mithology, the gods of love loves the gas of war. that sounds familiar.

Most powerful Ogre ever? Ha! Please. Kovik's Monster.
TheVoidLord no it's potato, the untamed
ya but he blows up when his master is killed, so obviosly he wasnt powerfull, but being kept alive by kovik.
Pit of heresy dungeon ogres for the win.🙄😂
Oryx wouldn't let him play football he was just angry
I'm this deep into binging your videos

they are built up with extreme rituals but dies in 1-2 shotgun shots

So the orbs we shoot down...
that splatter on the ground....
Are our fellow Guardians? 😨
No because we are the first guardians to board the dreadnaught

That's just my speculation, btw orbweaver.
the "orb Weaver" bit makes sense- he pretty much has spiders legs on his back, with "Web" coming from them
1 don't forget there were other species who were aligned with the sky
2 what about light eater ogres
3 great video ,love your lore
wait, guardians can only be killed by having their light, their ghosts light drained, or their ghost damaged. Let's assume for a moment that the guardians golgoroth had liquefied ghosts are still intact, wouldn't that mean they. were still alive? no body, just the light that made them.
I always thought it was oyrxs pet, anyways great video loved every second off it your voice is very therapeutic :)

The thing that blew my mind was the spider symbol for pool of reclaimed light and most of all the light u step In is dead guardians! Myelin you open my eyes in every video!
+Ryan D'Amelio arr man, I really loved that speculation, I have got some horrific ideas for some art work depicting this!!!
Your videos are awesome!
I am enjoying these law videos keep going!!!

Yes malok is also a thrall
Orb-weaver, great video, good luck on your Phd
Ogres are taught to hate the light they so dearly crave, and in turn this brings them pain; making them more ferocious. Thus it may be safe to assume that the reclaimed light orbs within Golgoroth's chamber are there to cause Golgoroth pain, making him infinitely stronger.
The way you explain things makes oryx kinda sound more curious and providing, than evil and selfish
about the correction part in the description, you are the first guardians, but what about all the awaken that died it could of came from them
the orbs of light could just be light that was passed up through the ranking, or they were previous victims of golgoroth before he was in the dreadnaut. they could also be something put there by oryx used to torture golgoroth even further.
+Levity the Leviathan yep, i also agree with this. I don't think j mentioned it but my other theory was that golgoroth converts the light into blighted light for oryx consumption
"In the garden grows a tree of wings, the leaves are ruin, the bark disaster. Of the seeds we do not speak."
N7 OVERLORDZ Ruin Wings
Keep up the great work myelin
+Ian Thomson cheers Ian. Thanks for all your support
You should do one about the Warpriest
Well, this made the Golgoroth fight a LOT creepier
So... whenever I step in a pool of reclaimed light, I'm just stepping into a puddle made of guardians?
Orb weaver this video has taught me a lot more thanx
Something about Golgoroth just fascinates me. idk why but Golgoroth is my favorite raid boss
This was what was going on in the mission Chamber of Night, I assume? And I figured that tablet of ruin had some lore implications; I wonder if all the raid mechanics are lore based. Anyway, enjoyed the video!
Had there been a guardian at the dreadnought before our friendly visit?
+Ali Dakhaikh I dont believe so... unless you count Toland.... :O

The orbs must be those before the guardians of our solar system such as the Fallen.
+Ali Dakhaikh Check out the response I made to help support his theory ^ to answer your question
But I thought the lore said that we were the first Guardians to fight Oryx and Golgoroth so how could the sacs be dead Guardians...
So is Golgoroth still powerful after seeing the enormous Morgeth?
Swolegoroth
Myelin do you think the giant shard of the traveler was used to make Golgoroth/Pogoth?? It seems like a bunch of light that could he used to hurt them. In the mission aswell we see 4 hive wizards around the massive shard. Maybe they were performing the ritual to make pogoth.
I thought our guardians were the first team sent to kill Oryx? So those might be other light-bearing creatures
So when we stand on the pool on reclaimed light we stand on a guardian corpse.....
Hey Myelin, who/what is Gulrot, Unclean. The ogre seen in the prison of elders. What is its purpose there and why does it have the title"Unclean"?
+Ethan Beck that is a good question, I forgot about Gulrot. I dont know off the top of my head, will need to look into it
Gulrot was created by wizards in the prison of elders out of desperation and madness to escape the prison. As for his title it's unclear but my theory is that Gulrot's verry creation was useless to the hive's dishier to kill light and deemed unholy in the hive pantheon
Ethan Beck because the ogre hasn’t had a bath for 10000 decades
light has existed as long as the darkness, maybe the orbs of light are of other species that wielded the light but were unsuccessful in the many conquests of the taken king
Myelin what if the orbs of light ARE Guardians and there light have been tethered up to Golgoroth since he is part of the hive pyramid??
Guh, I'll never look at those hanging orbs the same way again.
Orb weaver. I banish thee into the depths of the Kings abyss. Shall you be confronted, your prey shall belong to Himself, and shall you be defeated, your soul shall rest within His hide.
If there is no difference between love and war to the hive... does that mean they love guardians?
I wasn't home when I saw you post you were doing the kings fall raid this Saturday. I would have done it D:
+Paul Sanchez no dramas man, managed to scrap together a team :)
did you ever think about what would be ogres that would eat light? not be tortured with it?
on the golgoroth grimoire card you showed his head vaguely resembles the helm of saint 14
+Sam Lewis dammm, did not think of that. They do both have lines of light up the centre
Myelin Games It may be imagination on my part, but the jaw of the helm and golgoroth are similar as well.
Love this channel.
wow i had no idea about the orbs on the ceiling in the raid that's pretty messed up but cool
wow that was interesting thanks now i know whats been happening in destiny
Golgoroth is also a spider because he has legs on his back. Like legit the fist time I saw the disgusting thing I just thought I was an ogre that mutated with a spider that died on its back.
So if the hive can't distinguish between love and war and they are waging war against us, does that mean they love us? I'm not sure if I'm ready for that kind of relationship
Or don't distinguish to be more accurate
+45Thawk lol. Sort of to be honest. Oryx confesses that if some one defeats him he deserves to be beaten.
Wait, I have an idea. The Khvostov 7G-0X's description says it is renewed and enhanced by Light, and the hive want to eat Light, so we can stop the hive from killing by donating unwanted Khvostovs!
maybe the ogre created in the Abyss by Oryx could be the Infantine from the Summoners Circle.
I just noticed in your book of sarrows 1 aurush
Sathona
Xiro
Are the names of orxy and his sister with slightly different prenouncation
I dont know why but youre voice makes me so calm hehe
Lol i was confused at the voice crack it killed the mood lowkey 😂
Tho i still wonder why golgoroth has an eye instead of a big blob like other ogres
ya know I wonder... are shriekers hive?? this may not be as important as I thought but still... its weird
Please do lore on Malok. His story is actually quite interesting.
Sorry but would anything happen if you had the key of eir and the key of xol at the same time
