Video saved me a big headache. Instructions say to just hold down the bind button, nothing about holding it down while you turn it on. I fought with it for too long before I watched this video, jumped right to the booting up part, and that's when I saw my problem. Thank you! Always have the most helpful videos!
thank you for answering my question about whether you can use one tx for all the furitek rx, going to put a furitek system in my tr4m, max smasher and scx24
You're welcome! I think you'll like it. It's pricier than some competitors but the convenience of tying into the Furitek components so easily sure is nice.
Fix end points dude or switch the connection point on your rear steer servo horn. The closer it is to the servo the less action at the back and turn your punch level down might save you chewing through axles👍...sweet build my guy
Just got my Avatar with the 4 wheel steering knob. I’m old school RC racer and have always struggled with the complex adjustable transmitters. I was doing this so long ago that you had to make sure your servos operated in the right direction, no reversing switch. Some company came out with little kits to install in your radios, then eventually dual rates kits came about. So basically all adjusting was analog and up on the drivers stand in the heat of the moment you could slide up to the top of the track and go right to your switches and knobs the drop back down and go. With these computer radios it seems to be a search for the adjustments to apply you tweaks. You do sir explain and show way better than most in your videos. Thanks for your excellent work and your builds. All very helpful. There is one question, are all the after market axels the ones thoses bigger cross pins fit in, the tiny stock pins look real cheap and breakable ,,,and if so are there a.f. pins that will work on the stock FW axels ? On my Furiwagon I really don’t care for the tiny little pins that the hex nuts index on, I’ ve seen and received several pins in the brass hex nuts that the wheels and pins index to in an effort to strengthen that area of function. The pins all seem to be to large to work on the stock furiwaggon is there a solution to get a metal axel nut and pin that fits…. Thank you sir
Great features with the Avatar. And great they took care of you super quick. (I'm sure having a YT channel helps! Not sure that be standard service for everyone) My hesitation is reliability issues/ out of the box problems. Seems, from all the vid's I've seen, people have issues too frequently. Would be even more painful for us Canucks given the higher price and $$$ shipping and extra time shipping takes. Maybe they've finally sorted the issues by now. Would love an Ava. and a Cayman, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger for the above reasons.
Good points. Thankfully my replacement avatar has been solid ever since. I'm running 9 rigs on it now and use it pretty constant. But there are excellent, lower cost alternatives out there.
I'd love to see Furitek or a competitor come out with a crawler specific mini transmitter like this with thumb dial or similar to control the rear steer independently with your left thumb!
i know this video is older now, but did you ever dial out the instant throttle issue? you can always adjust the EXPO on the transmitter so that you will have some ease for the first 25% or so, then you can ramp it up after that point if need be.
I need to set aside a couple hours just to play with the app. I haven’t sunk any serious amount of time into it and I know I’m leaving a lot of functionality on the table. These electronic upgrades offer a whole new level of customization!
Wow, that transmitter is really cool! So many features. Any reason you went with Furitek over FlySky or something else? I'm still using the stock transmitters for my rigs, but I don't have rear wheel steer going on. Another really awesome video Adam, thanks as always! Take care!!!
Thank you! I went furitek because I liked the idea of have the full suite of furitek electronics on the bronco and gladiator. Plus I was attracted to the tiny little receiver that comes on the package with the transmitter. I would like to try a flysky setup for a comparison on the future though!
Adam - I am having maybe a similar problem, I can not get the micro receiver to bind. All I get is a flashing red light on the receiver when I press the bind button and power up the ESC. I really want to love this little Cayman Pro but I’m a little frustrated with it. Contacted AMain and they sent another receiver to me but the same problem with it. I’m on the west coast so I will try to contact Furitek tomorrow and maybe we can get it sorted out.
If you overdrive both gear sets, front and rear, it would make the entire rig faster. I only overdrive the front so the front spins faster. This helps with traction, particularly on vertical climbs
@@CapeCrawlers haha yeah that might be the issue but if you ever overdrive both front and back you should make a vid or a short just to see how fast it would be
Thanks! I think you could since the transmission is servo operated. There are preprogrammed options for those buttons and there is a generic CH3 or CH4 option. If you were able to plug the transmission servo into the CH3 or 4 you could possibly use the switches to operate it like the stock FMS remote. But I am just speculating. I haven't seen that done personally.
I desperately want to get my hands on a Cayman. They're preorder only on the website but maybe I will reach out and see if I can score a demo for the channel.
Only thing I have with the avatar, is I wished they would change out the cheap plastic with some sort of heavierweight hardware. For 100-150$ it shouldn't be made from 20$ plastic 🤷♂️
Thank you! No, no comps yet. All the comps locally are 1/10 scale. I might make a road trip to hit up a 1/24 meetup and comp a few states over before years end. It’s definitely a goal of mine.
Hiya Adam, will this transmitter and receiver work on the trx-4m?I've got the furitek ultimate and mini komodo to go in aswel!can you use the spare channels for lights?thanks again!keep it up!👍
Hey Tom! It will work on the TRX4M, but you'll need the lizard pro or some sort of aftermarket esc as well. You will lose your pro scale light functionality unfortunately. The fog lights will work though, or aftermarket lights that can plug into that channel.
I might need to get this!! My c10 would be so awesome. Another great video lots of awesome tips. I'm running into a problem on my deadbolt not sure if you know of anything. Did a c10 front end conversion now I can't find a bumper that clears my servo. Any ideas on like a longer mount.
@@CapeCrawlers I was but it's now on a lcg carbon frame. So it looks like snuggle tooth at the moment just that servo hanging out the front. Which I don't super like.
@@Matt-it8jh ahh thats going to be tricky since most LCG chassis dont have bumper mounting options. You would likely have to fabricate/modify something of your own to get a bumper on there.
I have a Spectrum Transmitter. I mainly use it for my race stuff. Have not considered putting a receiver in the 1/24. Is there a reason people are not using Spectrums?
I am just dipping my toes into the aftermarket transmitter world, so I can't speak as to why folks don't use Spectrums that often. The most common system I see is the FlySky, which I hope to try soon as a comparison to the Furitek. I am pretty brand loyal, and I liked the idea of having a full Furitek system on my builds. But I do want to try other options on some other builds.
Adam, will the Avatar Micro RX bind to the factory Horizon TX? My factory RX/ESC is shot, and I just want to know if I can install Furitek Lizard and Micro RX and still use my transmitter to keep cost down?

I can not get the micro receiver to bind. Press bind button, power up ESC - flashing red LED on receiver. Same with second receiver. Need some serious help I guess.
On the avatar? Can you see on the telemetry screen that throttle is being applied? Do you have another motor and/or ESC you could try it with? If none of those identify the root cause, I would suggest contacting Furitek's helpdesk using their ticket system.
I’ve looked at the Advatar but at $150 it’s over priced. Should come in the $70-$80 range. Can’t see that it has anything GP5 or G7P the RC4GS has a dial to the rear of the steering wheel that can be assigned to channel 3 for rear steer.
G7P is a nice transmitter the only issue is it uses the ANT protocol & the last time I looked there was only 1 rx available for them here in the US. They show esc/rx on their website but haven’t been able to find them anywhere. I don’t like the looks of the RC4GS or it’s bigger brothers but I think it’s best for rws with the control know on the right side. I printed a wheel to go over the knob which lets me steer the back with my thumb. The only draw back is it’s not spring loaded so you have to do your own centering.
