Those food items which daren't speak their name on RUclips are available down south, but probably not as nice, or as spicy, as the ones you had. Thank you so much Ann and Émile. You may be able to get a RidgeMonkey equivalent called “Happy Call” if you search on eBay. They do a Double Sided Grill Pressure Frying Pan T12. Or Harris Sports Mail may ship to Canada.
A lovely little quaint quirky town and i found the history of it interesting. I like the nickname chutney for carol. I wonder how they give the storms names and are able to say which one is on it's way. XX ❤️💙
I don’t know who chooses the names for the storms but they are always in alphabetical order. We wish they were better at forecasting the weather so we could plan our trips better 😁
I agree about road closed signs too Ken. The turning or spot you're looking for, may well be before the actual road closes. (i think they should put a distance to closure on those signs).......Also, if its on country lanes, it may well be an old sign left by the workmen, or even perhaps its only closed between working hours and is open again in the evenings.
We are only about half an hour away from Bridgnorth when we are at the kids but have never been. I actually had a strange dream last night that we were at a show and looking at a van the same as yours and were considering buying it. Agree about the closed road signs. We've had it in the past where the road closed has been way past where we want to go.
@@LifeistooshortCK lol. You two manage perfectly well although it might be a squeeze with Nanook! That's where we park up in Ironbridge, it's not a bad spot at all.
I enjoyed the video I luv all the history, its so interesting . its a shame a lot of castles have been knocked down. all it does is rain. I don't like hot food, it makes my mouth sore. stay safe
I was down in Shropshire visiting my friend. We couldn’t get to Shrewsbury or to Bridgenorth where her parents used to live. It rained all the time I was there but we still enjoyed ourselves. I usually love visiting Iron bridge but not this visit. Next time!!
Another lovely video. Our local butcher here in Gloucestershire makes his own fagots. Apparently they are excellent. I always feel a bit of a fraud when I go to buy then as 1) I am vegetarian, but the butcher thinks I am buying then for the family and 2) I buy then as a treat for my dog, but he is family but definitely not vegetarian :)
Another great video. It's been years since I visted that area. I remember eating those as a child and thought they were really yucky 🤮. Some relatives had moved from Wales to Lancashire and decided to cook us a dish that was popular in Wales. Never had the urge to try them since especially once I knew what they contained🤣
Thanks for the video. Shame about the weather. Bridgnorth and Iron Bridge are both excellent places to visit. The Ex-Pawers camped in the same place in Iron Bridge, they experienced a storm too. In what way did the the trip beat you? "The finest view in all my kingdom" - that was the opinion of King Charles I looking out from the medieval castle over Bridgnorth, in the 17th Century
Another interesting and informative video. Your clip date problem had me go check my own Osmo Action and sure enough, the date set was an hour out from the date recorded! I linked up to the DJI Mimo app (which I almost never use) and that seemed to correct the problem. Must be something to do with daylight saving time, but odd that that can't be addressed in the camera!
You don’t get it on the double glazed caravan style windows but will always get it on the windscreen and cab windows which are single glazed unless you have extremely good ventilation.
Thank you for sharing, it looks really nice, so you give us a lot of tips for when we go visit the UK. I was wondering how you guys manage the moisture in your van, especially when it is rainy and cold weather
We have started using bubble wrap in the winter for the side and back windows ruclips.net/video/qcgNJO3fSzA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/mB_ud2oMUoc/видео.html
@@LifeistooshortCK of course we saw that video, but we where wondering why you guys don't use is on the frontscreen anymore, because that is the place where we found the most accumulated moister
@@rojoontour the moisture has to go somewhere so as the front windscreen is so easy to dry with the squeegee and microfibre cloth we leave it clear of bubble wrap.
Best town in England. Unfortunately the "national housing shortage myth" is causing the town to grow and grow. So I'd advise visiting it sooner rather than later to appreciate it's real beauty and character.
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. This is the start of a series we filmed in February when we were headed for the Lake District but all did not go to plan 😉😆😀
Hi excellent VLog once again thank you very much… Off topic, my wife absolutely loves true crime podcast… Would you ever consider starting a podcast for true crime?? I have to say your Nnarrating skills are excellent!! Your personality is spot-on… and with your past experience i’m sure you will be a sensation
Are you going to do a cookbook please? Your van seems to be the ideal size or would you prefer something bigger. I'm thinking of downsizing from a 6m van. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Love following your travels
I doubt we will ever do a cookbook Alex. We have some Q&A videos coming soon, 1st one this Wednesday where we discuss the van. We sacrifice a lot of comforts for the ability to get under any barrier and be able to park almost anywhere. That was our priority and deliberate choice coming from a large comfy caravan. Only you know if you can do without those comforts 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK I think your van is ideal, but perhaps I'm being idealistic. A dry, warm tent on wheels is effectively what you have. My van, has a shower that is rarely used, 2 sinks which is ridiculous and a fixed bed. You suffer with storage. Your mpg must be better than mine. What is your rfl please? Perhaps that will be answered on Wednesday..
@@alexn5648 sorry the Q&A about the van will be part 2 in a couple of weeks. Yes, a small van is definitely more economical. We average 53mpg. Road tax is £275.
As you said that’s a typical example of why a closed road isn’t necessarily completely closed. Just because a side road is closed doesn’t mean the whole route is closed, I wish the councils could put out better signage to say that. That sign should have read “a road closed ahead” not “road closed” I bet loads of people have made long unnecessary detours when like you they could have got through ok.
Those caves are not the Hermitage ones I'm afraid, those are going up the hill out of Bridgnorth on the Wolverhampton Road. Those caves you see have been off limits since the 80s
Hi Guys I posted a comment about the 'meatballs' you were eating a warning popped up "Did You Really Want to Post This" without thinking I clicked yes, now it looks like the system has deleted it, why, because I typed the word F@#*@TS I believe anyway I meant to tell you in all innocence that Asda and Iceland sell the frozen product 😇
Ooh, I think I know where this is heading! Bridgnorth was beautiful just before the weather turned. I bet there was excessive condensation on the windows with your sweating after the spicy faggots. I’m a Northern lass but I don’t think I’ve ever tried them. Must give them a go. Just moving on to your Q&A vid now … Take care, Sue x
Hi Sue. You will recognise a lot of places on this trip as we got plenty of inspiration from watching your channel 😁 We recommend faggots, just not really spicy ones 😋
Blocking those caves is actually a disservice, it's adventures like that during childhood that makes men. I was in a chat last night with a bunch of late teen early 20's boys, very odd reading their conversation they have no sense of adventure and view the outdoors with a sense of dread.
I would normally agree with your view but apparently the kids lit a fire inside and the heat caused the roof to collapse. Knowing that could happen again left them with no choice I think. I suppose they could have placed warning signs but once it’s dark they are pretty useless.
@@LifeistooshortCK yeah, we had old limestone caverns and actual man made caves from mining limestone for concrete where I grew up in Missouri. We went in those hundreds of times even driving in the mined out caves, but I don't think we ever even considered lighting a fire. Live and learn :) .
Here in the US I can’t type the word _ _ ______, and gravy. Just wanted to know what it was. But the censors flagged me. 😅 Also, can’t say the word _ _ _ ed up! Now how’s that for funny?
From Wikipedia: “They are meatballs, typically derived from pork offal, that originated as farmer's food in the British countryside. Though they unfortunately share their name with a slur in American English, the two terms are unrelated” 😂
It was so wonderful to see Bridgnorth I lived for many very happy years there!
When I was a teenager back in the 1970s, I worked on clearing out those furnaces. They were a fascinating piece of technology. They had enormous bellows driven by a water wheel to provide the air to the blast furnace. The water reservoir was on the hill above. There was a steam engine which pumped the water from the river (reason for the location) up into the reservoir. The reason for this complicated arrangement was to prevent the possibility of the bellows stopping working during the smelting process which would mean the iron solidifying inside the furnace and effectively meaning thing would have to be rebuilt.

@@LifeistooshortCK very true the name is less important 😊
Iron bridge was on our bucket list on our last cycle trip in England. Ride up the Seven. Brought back memories. P S had lovely weather.
Glad we could bring back some happy memories for you and you had good weather for your cycling trip 🙂👍
You make some good points there Thomas. That’s why we usually ignore them and very rarely have to turn around ☺️
We are only about half an hour away from Bridgnorth when we are at the kids but have never been. I actually had a strange dream last night that we were at a show and looking at a van the same as yours and were considering buying it. Agree about the closed road signs. We've had it in the past where the road closed has been way past where we want to go.
That is not a dream it’s a nightmare 😱😁👍
@@LifeistooshortCK lol. You two manage perfectly well although it might be a squeeze with Nanook! That's where we park up in Ironbridge, it's not a bad spot at all.
@@roaminginraymond You definitely need a bigger van with the Nookie Monster 🐕😀👍
This is better then BBC
Thank you 🙏☺️
just got back from Bridgnorth today,,,that very confusing diversion is still in place.
Hope you had a good time 🙂
good void on you trip thanks lee
Cheers Lee 🙂👍
Nice video as usual. Good hint to travelers not to change course to quick when you see road closed.
Cheers Larry 👍
I enjoyed the video
I luv all the history, its so interesting .
its a shame a lot of castles have been knocked down.
all it does is rain.
I don't like hot food, it makes my mouth sore.
stay safe
Glad you enjoyed it Moira. As for the rain, you ain’t seen nothing yet ☔️😁
I was down in Shropshire visiting my friend. We couldn’t get to Shrewsbury or to Bridgenorth where her parents used to live. It rained all the time I was there but we still enjoyed ourselves. I usually love visiting Iron bridge but not this visit. Next time!!
Sometimes the weather is just not with you. We certainly found that on this particular trip. We look forward to a sunny summer 😊
Haha. I bet your dog loves them 😋🙂👍
Another great video. It's been years since I visted that area. I remember eating those as a child and thought they were really yucky 🤮. Some relatives had moved from Wales to Lancashire and decided to cook us a dish that was popular in Wales. Never had the urge to try them since especially once I knew what they contained🤣
Best not to know what’s in them and think of them as spicy meatballs 😊😋
@@LifeistooshortCK I'll stick to making my own meatballs 🤣🤣
Thanks for the video. Shame about the weather. Bridgnorth and Iron Bridge are both excellent places to visit. The Ex-Pawers camped in the same place in Iron Bridge, they experienced a storm too. In what way did the the trip beat you?
"The finest view in all my kingdom" - that was the opinion of King Charles I looking out from the medieval castle over Bridgnorth, in the 17th Century
You will have to continue watching this series to see how it progresses ☺️
Another interesting and informative video. Your clip date problem had me go check my own Osmo Action and sure enough, the date set was an hour out from the date recorded! I linked up to the DJI Mimo app (which I almost never use) and that seemed to correct the problem. Must be something to do with daylight saving time, but odd that that can't be addressed in the camera!
Thanks for the tip about the Mimo app solving the problem. I will give that a go 👍
Bless your hearts. The battle with condensation goes on. Are there any vans that don’t have that problem???
You don’t get it on the double glazed caravan style windows but will always get it on the windscreen and cab windows which are single glazed unless you have extremely good ventilation.
Thank you for sharing, it looks really nice, so you give us a lot of tips for when we go visit the UK. I was wondering how you guys manage the moisture in your van, especially when it is rainy and cold weather
We have started using bubble wrap in the winter for the side and back windows

ruclips.net/video/mB_ud2oMUoc/видео.html
@@LifeistooshortCK of course we saw that video, but we where wondering why you guys don't use is on the frontscreen anymore, because that is the place where we found the most accumulated moister
@@rojoontour the moisture has to go somewhere so as the front windscreen is so easy to dry with the squeegee and microfibre cloth we leave it clear of bubble wrap.
Best town in England.
Unfortunately the "national housing shortage myth" is causing the town to grow and grow.
So I'd advise visiting it sooner rather than later to appreciate it's real beauty and character.
Thanks for the video, we both really enjoyed it. Are you going to be doing a Shropshire series, or you heading off somewhere else?
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. This is the start of a series we filmed in February when we were headed for the Lake District but all did not go to plan 😉😆😀
Hi excellent VLog once again thank you very much… Off topic, my wife absolutely loves true crime podcast… Would you ever consider starting a podcast for true crime?? I have to say your Nnarrating skills are excellent!! Your personality is spot-on… and with your past experience i’m sure you will be a sensation
Very kind of you to say so.
Not a mention of one of Bridgnorth's major attractions The Severn Valley steam railway
We didn’t visit it.
Agreed. We always take a look and have not been caught out yet.
I bet you’re dinner caused a few raised eyebrows from your viewers across the pond! Lol
We thought it might but nobody seems to have fainted so far 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Ken & Carol: I love your videos and your choice of accompanying music, and enjoy the history of UK. No fainting just a grimace.
ExPawers parked up by that furnace, but got moved on when the river flooded..
Yes they were there very soon after us 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK Yikes, glad you stayed safe..!
It’s a shame you don’t have a Patreon account, but I’ve added to your PayPal.. :)
@@StephenMott that’s very kind of you 🙏
@@StephenMott Thank you very much for your kind donation, it is much appreciated ❤️
Those caves are not the Hermitage ones I'm afraid, those are going up the hill out of Bridgnorth on the Wolverhampton Road. Those caves you see have been off limits since the 80s
Thanks for setting us right Martin. You can’t beat local knowledge ☺️👍
Doesn’t surprise me with the amount of censorship we suffer these days. Thanks for the tip 👍
@@LifeistooshortCK It’s great to hear I provided a little inspiration on places 😊. Really excited to watch this trip! x
@@joelle3135 aw, you're no fun.
LOL we have no idea what you are eating .... eh
😂 A Northern English delicacy 😂
Here in the US I can’t type the word _ _ ______, and gravy. Just wanted to know what it was. But the censors flagged me. 😅 Also, can’t say the word _ _ _ ed up! Now how’s that for funny?
From Wikipedia: “They are meatballs, typically derived from pork offal, that originated as farmer's food in the British countryside. Though they unfortunately share their name with a slur in American English, the two terms are unrelated” 😂
@@LifeistooshortCK, thank you SO much! 😂😂😂 I had no clue. The censors are too funny!
