Glad the channel is picking up for you dude, you deserve it! And yup, having a home base and a nomad setup is the best of both worlds, I wouldn't have it any other way. Feels so good to go on road trips for half the year, then come back to snowmachines/snowboards and winter wonderland right when it gets good and have a cabin & land to recharge in... i totally feel ya.
Overlanding and car camping has grown so much in the past few years. Campgrounds really need to reconsider their business model. Even if they put a corner aside for such camping
I absolutely agree! There are spots here that are tent only, or meant for huge RVs. Would be cool to see more off grid remote camp sites, but on the west, that’s just any BLM or public land 🤣

A lot of Nomads are starting to realized the importance of a home simply known as the Base Camp. A base camp is merely a place to settle down for awhile. If you plan to establish a base camp, you need some neighbors who are willing to watch the base cam while you are one of your trips. You can establish a base cam in most of the United States. For the moment, enjoy the break from life as a nomad. Still once a nomad is a nomad whether they are part time or full time.
I agree, it is cool to change it up after so many years of always wondering where the next spot will be, still living out of the rigs, in kind of a hybrid way
Exercise caution in campgrounds - we have previous experience wintering in Nevada's campgrounds. For instance, in a somewhat isolated KOA campground in Verdi, NV, we encountered theft and vandalism, affecting both our rig and car. It's common for transient visitors, often stopping for a night from the freeway, to be tempted by items like chairs, electrical devices, or other valuable equipment. Always ensure to securely lock your belongings.
My dog loved those floppy frisbees, but the squeaker in the middle would last about an hour. Even though they’re supposed to be Kevlar dog proof, she got through them pretty quickly.

Never been a full time nomad though I do enjoy going out for several weeks at a time camping out of my rig. I have ALWAYS thought a full time nomad would be better off with a 'home base', or at least a temporary home base. I know I appreciate the return home after a couple weeks of glamping. Glamping for me being a soft, warm bed, a fire ring and a picnic table. Having tap water readily available is nice too, but that is a take it or leave it sort of thing. It is my theory that you really can't get to know an area until you have spent a week or two, or even a couple months there. I really DO NOT like campgrounds with elbow to elbow neighbors, then again, if you are out exploring the area during the day, and mainly using the campground for sleeping, it lessens the impact of so many close neighbors.
I love the feeling of having no Home base, but it comes with a price. I’m happy to have opened my perspective and to see the benefits of campgrounds, they are a great tool to use sometimes

I’m not basing on you, but man, you just seem happy but the vids are kinda depressing. Hope to see you at hammers 2024!
Not for nothing but there are 10 million plus acres of public land in mid Atlantic region. In my state (Virginia) alone we have more than 3.7 million acres of public land, with thousands of camping spots free of charge. How are you struggling to find public land exactly?
@17, We built our ExpeditionVehicle for boondocking exclusively. We occasionally visit chums staying in a campground or resort. . Admittedly, we could get suckered-in by the shuffleboard tournaments and canasta marathons. And their "Hi, I'm..." name badges. . But the clincher is the perky Activities Director.

What brings you to the east coast for the holidays?❤
My girlfriend Amanda is finishing up school over here, happy holidays!
As soon as it gets dark, if they leave their gear unattended, it will sprout legs and walk away. This is a big problem with campgrounds.
Bro come back to AZ!!!!!
It’s very difficult in the East and can be discriminatory. Great video man, thanks.
Welcome to PA
How much for the month? Asking for a friend!!
Why not over-winter in Quartzite? (I'm sure you have a good reason btw)

How much does the monthly run?
Id lije to buy land to have a base camp and let other nomads come live as needed. The only prerequisite is they will need to have a dog and a dirtbike
🥶🥶 i think florida is considered the east coast as well , if you pull this off , i buy ya'll dinner 🥶🥶~peace~
Hmmmmm it's your channel and life but this channel just isn't the same. Best wishes man
Did you ever visit Newfoundland? You should
Cool spot dude! Way cooler than being a finance bro.
Crunch berries! Breakfast of champions...
You did not mention where you're at or what Campground sounds interesting or maybe you did and I missed it
He probably doesn't want you and 20k other people trying to stop by to say hi uninvited.
Thank you David! Ya I figured I’d leave that out for now haha
@@chublezspot on! Haha 😂 you get me
I wanted to ask please is RUclips your main source of income?
Watching for a long time now, keep up the life man!
Thank you for that I appreciate you!! 👊
@@Down2Mob we appreciate all that you do for us to enjoy this wonderful journey together with you guys! 🤙🏻
You can feel it. He wants to marry this chick. Down to mob will soon have a little ripper running around causing all kinds of trouble 😂
Or at least the skidmarks will get bleached out lol.
I was kinda wondering that too ? 😊
Getting soft with age. Running water and flush toilets🤦♂️. Pretty soon you’ll be talking about forced air and kitchen appliances
What’s the name of the campground
Bro definitely upgraded for sure 😂 congrats my boi
Get ahold of yourself brother ! Dude go back and watch some of your videos ! Don’t do this , you already know this deep down inside .
I’ve got a pretty good hold of myself. Better than in years! I actually watched some of my old videos from Utah recently and it has helped me get excited about the future and “back” to some of my old self but also a totally new self! Lol
@@Down2Mob nothing but love for you dude , but don’t be fooled by tight covered moose knuckles !👍🏻
There must be a reason for paying on the east Coast When you have a free off gris property
Phil, we’ve met a couple times at Hammers and I’ve always been a fan. Not sure why your so far from home, but if it’s for love, I’m happy for you! Not sure your plans but hope to see you again where the free can still be free! Safe travels. Also, I know you know but these vids are lacking. There is stuff to do and explore on the east coast but you got to park the truck and get a back pack or get a boat. Your gotta mix it up to keep the content fresh. I’m not basing on you, but man, you just seem happy but the vids are kinda depressing. Hope to see you at hammers 2024!
What campground
Not for nothing but there are 10 million plus acres of public land in mid Atlantic region. In my state (Virginia) alone we have more than 3.7 million acres of public land, with thousands of camping spots free of charge. How are you struggling to find public land exactly?
I hate camp ground camping having a young child i tryied this summer and didnt make it to the second night before leaving. 😂😂 to peopley
@17,
We built our ExpeditionVehicle for boondocking exclusively.
We occasionally visit chums staying in a campground or resort.
.
Admittedly, we could get suckered-in by the shuffleboard tournaments and canasta marathons.
And their "Hi, I'm..." name badges.
.
But the clincher is the perky Activities Director.
An east coast nomad must remain stealth.
Take her to your property for the winter
Dude Phil, Your off grid property is calling. Get back to it. Start building an earthship start the next chapter.
JEAHHHH!
Why are you staying on the east coast if it’s so bad?
A little too revealing tight pants if, you get my drift. Please no more. I’m just down to maub. Glad your not panicking in the snow tent. You should get back there and kick winter’s butt with a giant load of fire wood. West to the desert perhaps.
🐫
Hemmed up and domesticated 🤦🏽♂️😂.
It's awesome that you found a woman but seems like a repeat of the last one and just start forgetting about what down 2 mob was all about two totally different people one alone one with a gf
Go to KOA
I wouldn't bring your dogs to dog park with the mystery illness killing dogs.
Typical Canadian going soft lol
Seems like you got a new improved girlfriend.
Wait what? You changed your whole life because of a girl? I'll put no comment here because RUclips would probably cancel my account. staying in a campgrounds ain't so entertaining. 🤟 #Zzzzzz
Haha yes sir - the one constant in life is change! And I’m leaning into it! 👊
Changing you life for 😻. Huge mistake. #shallowhal
One quick question Bro, can you buy permanent space for your Camper ?
