I'm more concerned about the amount of toxic fumes the fake plants and fake rock will release over the years and the mold that will surely form on those wood beams behind that fake rock....
@@JakeDogg-RIP True, but I'm sure some wouldn't mind the investment already made for them if they don't have to pay extra and like the pond the way it was constructed.
It’s always an adventure working together George! Glad we didn’t have to surprise your parents this time 🤣 Looking forward to our next project together!!!
Thank you so much for doing a cost breakdown! I always hate it when RUclipsrs say : costs to keep blablabla and then have an extreme variety in range of costs. Like, I’m here to see how much to expect, not get scared about how much money I’ll be dropping! This is such a cool tank- can’t wait till you get some sting rays for the tank!!!🤩
Looks amazing George! I was wondering when you'd wrap that up, such huge projects take time & so much efforts. Congrats on doing a wonderful job, to you and everyone involved.💚
Awesome job. Do you have any issues or concerns about all the constant humidity in the basement from the evaporation? Whether it be from mold or peeling paint.
Beautiful George, we are happy to be part of your success and to see how well you are doing. Thank you for giving a final cost at the end with and without the discounts. Love from Germany. 🙂
Yes its insane how most koi ponds are just a rectangle bowl with water. They say because you need to clean tje bottom easier. But having substrate and plants does all if not all of the cleaning for your. Bacteria in the substrate breaks down the waste and then the plants suck up the waste.
@@sariel8406 koi will absolutely destroy plants, what are you talking about? They're carp, they eat everything they can get their mouth on. That aside, planting enough to actually have an impact on the sheer amount of waste an adult koi will produce would make it impossible to observe the koi at all.
Thank you for the expense breakdown George really appreciate the transparency. Would love a pond one day and its good to get an idea on cost. Will your Koi end up outgrowing this pond over the next 5 years though?
Future reference: light colours wash out the colour of your fish, if you really don’t like how your fish are looking against the white tile switch it to black
Absolutely a phenomenal pond build George, skilled tradesmen make it look sooo easy to do, you always give credit where credits due in your videos, and this video is no exception, especially the cost difference in what you paid, to the actual cost (roughly) including the freebies, but its certainly worth it for sure, a fish paradise. 👏👍
Beautiful fantastic pond but George the 1st think I thought when you finished it and added all the plants 🪴 was geeez what a great setup for ARCHER FISH 🐟
Wow, this a totally beautiful pond. So well done, and decorated with plants and rock panels. As far as the price, we all spend our money according to how much we have, so in your case, very done. Well worth it is the days to come!
You should have hired a professional tiler though, both the inside and outside tiles don't have a flat surface and few join well together. Personally, I would have gone for tropical fish and a little sand beach so I can have a nice warm bath in winter. 😄
Looks great George, and Dad and Mom approved, lol. Love Aquascape, they do the most incredible work, and Universal Rock which I learned about through Brian B. at The Reptarium (who by the way is building a huge Aquarium/Reptarium across from his original). I'm sure the Koi will enjoy their new surroundings, and thanks for taking us along.
Curious serious question, Wont the fake plants get dusty , and if so, wont watering them to get rid of the dust add unwanted chems to your pond, if so lol how would you combat that? like i said serious question.
Love this build. Just curious though why didn’t you tile the walls the right way with mortar and grout and spacers? Would have been a very little bit more work but the look would of been 100x nicer and would last. Not sure that glue is gonna hold long term. It looks incredible though. I guess the handyman in me got triggered lol
The maroon walls don’t go with the tropical pond. It looks like a hotel koi pond. Your basement will be so humid. Watch out for mold and get a dehumidifier.
BIG respect for Not wasting the nutrient dense water. As a gardener/farmer it makes me sooo frustrated watching people just dumping that liquid gold on the driveway or down the drain.. (looking at you OFR 😆 🤣 🤟) OFR Cleans their sock filter gunk down the drain. It's a sin! 😆 put it on the pond perimeter and gardens for funks sake!?! (Love you OFR!)
Yes, there is an overflow in the filter box so it will catch any extra water and send it out to the yard. Also underneath the pond there is a drain system so if it did leak same thing!
You forgot to add the free labor and supplies probably easily 3-5k so really closer to 20K. That’s way more than the average person can afford. Also- how much does it cost to run?
Honestly, it's probably more like $30K with current prices (or more depending upon Ed's people's time costs). While you suggest an arowana, the pond is not a good option for them or any fish with a tendency to jump. You might want to find something other than the planned Stingrays to put in there permanently because you're going to hit the one major issue with having indoor/outdoor fish that you transfer, the cycle collapsing on you each time so something to keep the cycle going and keep some interest in the top of the pond...
George I saw you need to add a cascade, or some air pumps because Koi fish need tons of oxygen, other than that its beautiful!!!! Great work hope one day I can have one indoor pond like yours
Hey George I have a question about aquashella. So I want to take my son for the whole weekend to it when it happens and we looked at the pricing we were confused if the vip weekend ticket includes children and adults or if we'd have to buy 2 vip weekend tickets for me and my son.
Ngl this is the first video i watched and the sentence "picked koi in japan" was kinda weird but actually sitting down at the end giving a transparent cost run down, that was really nice just having someone end their video with "this was the exact cost and here i got help with" is really amazing
we are never gonna build one of these for ourselves lol you did because 1. youre rich and 2. your parents are awesome and support your career choices. two reasons many of us dont have. it looks great though. 💜👍
Thanks for the transparency! Am aiming to do something akin to this in adulthood, granted revising the timing with the price tag as well as being settled down real estate wise.
Congrats on an awesome build. Your parents love you for real. What is funny is you whole huge pond costs almost as much as my 225 gallon reef... without the livestock lol.
I'm planning something similar as a saltwater aquarium. How did you connect the glass to the stone base in the wall area? I'm particularly interested in the connection points of the individual components
13:40 Are we going to ignore the exposed line of plywood near your sneaker under the front section of that fancy tile? When maybe seventy percent of the costs are donated because it's for you then the cost breakdown is kinda pointless to your viewers for IRL reference. Your dad is a real character though. He's funny and even looks like comic actor Eugene Levy the father from the American Pie films.
It looks like the flooring isn't finished so it might be hidden by the tiles/wood whatever they're gonna put there, I doubt they'd leave it like that because it does look pretty bad
I would have left all the design to Ed! It's his forte afterall. So did your Koi over winter Ok? And what did you tell your mom and dad THIS time? You said the Koi went someplace else in the summer?...how come not your outdoor pond? or am I confused right from the get-go? What a marvelous journey of this Koi has been. I've been so entertained!

George is the valentines give away real or a scam please ???
Your videos are my favorite
?
I was inspired by you
Change your RUclips name back please
“You’ve damaged my house basically” the dad is super cool 😂
But the property he has went from milli to millionss
I was in the basement so how is it damaging the house well actually it is the house still but still
That was the highlight. I hope he gave his RUclips money to dad jaja.
Exactly what I said
I'm more concerned about the amount of toxic fumes the fake plants and fake rock will release over the years and the mold that will surely form on those wood beams behind that fake rock....
Pond looks absolutely amazing man! Congrats! The team killed it🔥💪🏼
hi paul. love the vids
The team did an amazing job 👏
Love your video’s Paul ❤️
Hi @paulcuffaro
frrr
Thank you so much to your dad. He is beyond generously gracious to you & your channel.
Your dads reactions are always gold. I honestly feel for him 😅 how does this even up the house value?
George probably has to buy his dad’s house eventually.
Decreases the value probably, unless u find a koi collector that’s looking to buy a house, or find a coral 12G fan that wants to buy it
A fish lover looking to buy a home would probably be pretty excited, but that's not the average person lol.
@@Prolificx yeah and a fish lover may prefer a black slate to build their own pond to their own size preference etc 🤷♂️

going to get mold and other issues. this is so wrong.
Nah, because it's not his house.
This might be the most amazing indoor koi pond I have ever seen it's truly breath taking
you haven't seen many then.
Beautiful George, we are happy to be part of your success and to see how well you are doing. Thank you for giving a final cost at the end with and without the discounts. Love from Germany. 🙂
Wow!! They really transformed the pond into a gorgeous oasis!! Ed is amazing! That man is a genius!
The fish deserves living plants

Your parents are legendary for allowing this 😆
So are you never moving out?
Bro is that your mom?
The pond looks so sweet! Your pops reaction was gold per usual😂
Thank you for the expense breakdown George really appreciate the transparency. Would love a pond one day and its good to get an idea on cost. Will your Koi end up outgrowing this pond over the next 5 years though?
George I love all your travel videos, but I really love your videos on your personal aquariums as well

Everyone involved did an outstanding job! I love koi fish, their colors and their personalities. Amazing work
I’ve been waiting nearly 2 years for this 🤩
I wanted to tile it for you George 😂 it looks AMAZING 😻 nailed it 👌🏽 top job Ed 🤙🏽
I love the tile in the tank. Makes me imagine as if a pond at some park flooded over and the fish are swimming up to the sidewalk.
How does that work with the humidity in the room? Does it not get to damp or moldy?

How do you prevent the evaporation from that pond ruining walls?
Looks incredible.......you have some exceptionally understanding parents. Love it !!!
you have amazing parents man! please dont take them for granted! tell them every day! love the pond too. so cool.

Great pond! Are there safeguards against accidents or leaks? Like a powerful pump that starts dumping put water as soon as it detects a leak?
Yes, there is an overflow in the filter box so it will catch any extra water and send it out to the yard. Also underneath the pond there is a drain system so if it did leak same thing!
Great job. Try installing airlift systems to improve the water quality.

finally finished I have waited for so long
George’s dad is amazing
Your dad cracks me up everytime!!! He's secretly so proud of you though...
You should add a waterfall . It will really bring out the plants

Are those outsticking bolts seen at 9:23 not dangerously sharp for the fish?
Glad to see glass panels instead of acrylic. Awesome pond bro.
$13k in awesome home improvements- that probably devalued the house like $50k 😂😂
I wasnt convinced abt the white tile on the inside but it really does make the Koi pop!
The pond looks amazing!!
Woahhhhhhhh I love this build!!!!
The minute that plywood gets wet those large tile will pop off
Glad you have your dream pond George!
YOU did a wonderful Job!

A THOUSAND DOLLARS for the electrician to install two ceiling light panels? Geez Louise!
Good thing I haven't slept yet because this is the update I'm waiting for in a long time George! 🥳🎉
I love how u can sit in that little cubby hole thing (where u were during breakdown) and really just enjoy watching the fish.
Enjoy the mold that inevitably grows because of the humidity of the tank lol.

I love it bro, have you ever thought of adding a red tail catfish?
The pond upgrade is awesome 😊
George in my opinion you should add some seaweed and aquatic plants in the water, OH lillies would be awesome, fake or not!
Feel like ive been waiting forever for this video!
You deserve it Megale! Enjoy and keep on with your great uploads.
The tile seems easy to clean but also like it's going to show every drop of poop between cleanings.
Looks great I think you need a uv sterilizer will help heaps with the clarity off the water
i have waited so long for this
i love how you jump in frame for 2 seconds and act like you're helping them lol

do you need to do water changes in these as well like normal aquarium tanks?
