After 21 years I retired from the Army and became a deputy US Marshal. I just want to tell you that you should be given a metal, definitely not a prison sentence. As a law enforcement officer I understand why we can't have vigilantes out there, just f*cking up anyone they feel is necessary. However, in your case you did your homework and you knew these pieces of crap were guilty. People call me a hero because of my multiple tours in the middle east and Africa. I was doing my job. This dude is my absolute hero and he doesn’t even know it. My step grandfather did the same dirty shit to me too when I was about seven and 89 years old and then one day I was playing with one of the kittens in the backyard and he comes around and he takes a kitten from me And he snaps the neck of the kitten and he says that if I ever tell he’s gonna do that to me and I never told I buried it so deep that I forgot about it for many many years and then when I turned 35. It all flooded back And I remember my step grandfather selling me to some guy about an hour away from my house next thing I know I see him with a wad of cash the next weekend he bought a brand new car. I wish I could meet Jason Vukovich he is my absolute hero, he doesn’t know it but I love that man until the day I draw my last breath and I’m 41 years old. I’m almost 42 was so damn traumatizing for me it changed the course of my life forever. I love you Jason you are my hero.

Having grown up in church myself, this is so fucked up to hear. Absolutely heartbreaking mate. We did have issues with rockspiders joining the church for access to children, however they were quickly rooted out and reported to the cops. At least in the three I grew up in. Thank you for your sacrifices is what my pops(vietnam marine vet) told me to say instead of thank you for your service(as service is what you get w a bigmac sacrifice is what soldiers do) he also told me to always tell em welcome home because they might not have heard it. I feel both sentiments are fully fitting of jason and his actions he defo served his country put in 10 plus years thats a career by any length. There are very few people ill hold in that regard (military fire nurses and truly good teachers come to mind) i guess ill add profesional chomo hunter to that list

I did every drug I could get my hands on and violence was always easy for me, street fights and running with gangs and going to jail/prison was just the easiest way to deal with it.... until I had my daughter she literally healed my soul. I appreciate this video and I commend this hero.
I just left Alaska, this is one of the reasons, and the alcoholics, people are so,not friendly there either. I moved with my husband up there from Mississippi, damn sure no southern hospitality there! A person goes missing af3w times a month as well! Thank you for being who you guys are! Be blessed!❤❤

I had several sexual abuse incidents with several different men, I really understand where Jason is coming from. Jason is very brave and strong to openly talk about his sexual abuse. It's more difficult for men to talk about. Me and all of my siblings were physically abused by my alcoholic mother's boyfriend. We always lived in poor neighborhoods, and nobody ever called authorities because half of the neighbors were doing the same things. We love ❤️ you Jason.
JD I just watched your interview with Kevin Lanning and just wanna say you sir are the man. I beat a 10 yr opiate addiction and am never looking back. My life is great now and I plan to keep it that way. Glad to see you come out on top and the world needs more people like you. Keep up the great work and be proud of what you have accomplished because you deserve it

His story reaches down deep inside of me and touches me heavy in the heart and ignites a fire in me to want to protect the innocence of children everywhere just like he did. Here is a man that society has basically effed over and turned a blind eye to as a child, who needed help more than any child did. And instead of being cold and hard he turned around and used that anger to protect innocent children who were just like him. I am for certain, that no matter what you believe, or what you believe in, there is some place very, very special for Jason. If more humans were like him in this world, what a better place this entire world would be. He deserves so many awards and accolades for protecting our youth. It's just heartbreaking that he went through that as a child. You can almost see that child when he speaks. He obviously has a good heart. He should have never had to do what he did, it should have been dealt with by the authorities quickly and severely. They should have done their job to protect him, his brother, and all the children those evil people hurt. I hope this doesn't offend him if he reads this because of his past dealings with "religious" people, but I will definitely pray for him. For healing, for peace, and the protection of having truly sincere and loving individuals to surround him and show him the love he should have gotten growing up. Jason, I hope that you find healing and continued support. I appreciate that you rehabilitated and continued in the advocacy that we needed. I went through similar types of abuse, including spiritual abuse from parents and the religion. I've had over 20 years of therapy, 2 years of rehabilitation, and 4 modalities of therapy every week currently. The neurological science and mental illness research and resources have helped in my healing.
Please, please seek therapists specifically for this. I know you have a strong belief system, you are doing alright, and helping others, but you deserve to thrive and be as free as mentally possible of this horrific childhood and find some relief. Love you guys so much, may God bless you always.

This dude is my absolute hero and he doesn’t even know it. My step grandfather did the same dirty shit to me too when I was about seven and 89 years old and then one day I was playing with one of the kittens in the backyard and he comes around and he takes a kitten from me And he snaps the neck of the kitten and he says that if I ever tell he’s gonna do that to me and I never told I buried it so deep that I forgot about it for many many years and then when I turned 35. It all flooded back And I remember my step grandfather selling me to some guy about an hour away from my house next thing I know I see him with a wad of cash the next weekend he bought a brand new car. I wish I could meet Jason Vukovich he is my absolute hero, he doesn’t know it but I love that man until the day I draw my last breath and I’m 41 years old. I’m almost 42 was so damn traumatizing for me it changed the course of my life forever. I love you Jason you are my hero.

Having grown up in church myself, this is so fucked up to hear. Absolutely heartbreaking mate. We did have issues with rockspiders joining the church for access to children, however they were quickly rooted out and reported to the cops. At least in the three I grew up in. Love and hugs from Australia mate. Can't wait to see you truly free. You shouldn't have gone away period.

Thank you for your sacrifices is what my pops(vietnam marine vet) told me to say instead of thank you for your service(as service is what you get w a bigmac sacrifice is what soldiers do) he also told me to always tell em welcome home because they might not have heard it. I feel both sentiments are fully fitting of jason and his actions he defo served his country put in 10 plus years thats a career by any length. There are very few people ill hold in that regard (military fire nurses and truly good teachers come to mind) i guess ill add profesional chomo hunter to that list

I feel every fkkn word he's speaking. Thank you both for this video. Things happened to me as a kid that my parents still don't even know about and I'm 59 years old. I did every drug I could get my hands on and violence was always easy for me, street fights and running with gangs and going to jail/prison was just the easiest way to deal with it.... until I had my daughter she literally healed my soul. I appreciate this video and I commend this hero.

I am moved to tears by Jason’s story. I can’t imagine ever hoping someone would notice bruising on me so I would be rescued from a family hell. Seeing Jason brought to tears makes me even more aware that even the biggest, toughest men have emotions and I feel it is so important to normalize men’s mental health, just as much as women’s.
For everything Jason has done, his story is not over. The rest of his life is shaped by what each next moment brings him. So Jason, if you happen to be reading this, THANK YOU FOR BEING SO SELFLESS IN A WORLD THAT WOULD’VE TAUGHT ALMOST ANYONE ELSE TO BE SELFISH. I had several sexual abuse incidents with several different men, I really understand where Jason is coming from. Jason is very brave and strong to openly talk about his sexual abuse. It's more difficult for men to talk about. Me and all of my siblings were physically abused by my alcoholic mother's boyfriend. We always lived in poor neighborhoods, and nobody ever called authorities because half of the neighbors were doing the same things. We love ❤️ you Jason.
JD I just watched your interview with Kevin Lanning and just wanna say you sir are the man. I beat a 10 yr opiate addiction and am never looking back. My life is great now and I plan to keep it that way. Glad to see you come out on top and the world needs more people like you. Keep up the great work and be proud of what you have accomplished because you deserve it

Jason is an angel amongst us. His story reaches down deep inside of me and touches me heavy in the heart and ignites a fire in me to want to protect the innocence of children everywhere just like he did. Here is a man that society has basically effed over and turned a blind eye to as a child, who needed help more than any child did. And instead of being cold and hard he turned around and used that anger to protect innocent children who were just like him. I am for certain, that no matter what you believe, or what you believe in, there is some place very, very special for Jason. If more humans were like him in this world, what a better place this entire world would be. He deserves so many awards and accolades for protecting our youth. It's just heartbreaking that he went through that as a child. You can almost see that child when he speaks. He obviously has a good heart. He should have never had to do what he did, it should have been dealt with by the authorities quickly and severely. They should have done their job to protect him, his brother, and all the children those evil people hurt. I hope this doesn't offend him if he reads this because of his past dealings with "religious" people, but I will definitely pray for him. For healing, for peace, and the protection of having truly sincere and loving individuals to surround him and show him the love he should have gotten growing up. Jason, I hope that you find healing and continued support. I appreciate that you rehabilitated and continued in the advocacy that we needed.
I went through similar types of abuse, including spiritual abuse from parents and the religion. I've had over 20 years of therapy, 2 years of rehabilitation, and 4 modalities of therapy every week currently. The neurological science and mental illness research and resources have helped in my healing.
Please, please seek therapists specifically for this. I know you have a strong belief system, you are doing alright, and helping others, but you deserve to thrive and be as free as mentally possible of this horrific childhood and find some relief. Love you guys so much, may God bless you always.
He is my hero here on earth. I never been a FAN/Fanatic of artists and or anyone involved with sports etc. But this man....this man is my hero and he also a reason I heal for my abuse. I only wish he could get the praise that Beyonce or Jamie Fox or any other celebrity receives. This is just amazing and I want him free always mentally and physically. I appreciate you James!!!! Thank you for being so transparent and sharing your story, brother. It wasn’t until I was 21 that I even was able to share that I was molested for two years from six to eight around another man. Now I share with no shame just in case it may inspire someone else to feel like they aren’t alone. We are strong together. We can heal together.
