I had 2 of the 3 torx off and the last one stripped on me by the connector.. I have absolutely no room like 3 fingers across and my connector was ripped off when my serpentine broke off I have no clue where it goes
There is an engine mount in the way for 2007 pontiac g6 3.5L so this how to is good to locate the actuator but cannot get to part without removing engine mount
Verty good video actually. Do you have any idea where the camshaft position sensor and crankshaft position sensor are on this exact car? My daughter has an '08 Pontiac G6 GT with the 3.5 liter. Your engine bay looks identical to hers.
the camshaft position sensor is on back of the power steering pump , u have to let go the drive belt, take off the power steering pump to get at this little small sensor which is held on by one small bolt, pain in the ass to get at , 2 parts the VVT and camshaft sensor should be changed which then should clear the check engine on steady light on dash
pontic g6 have few issues, 1, the damn ball joints are made into the lower control arms which are aluminum , so once the ball joint goes u have to change the whole control arm with the new ball joint in it ( stupid design), the exhaust has too many small flex pipe attachments which rust out and the stupid muffler design which is just plain retarded , rack and pinion and steering shafts are hard to replace , transmission fluid changes and checks are stupid because there's no actually dipstick, whoever designed these cars are idiots!
@@frankiejamescollins I was able to do the camshaft position sensor several months ago. Thank you for your response though. Regarding the crankshaft position sensor, I had a shop do it with my part because I don't have access to a lift. I could see it, but even after jacking the car and removing the passenger tire/wheel, I just couldn't get to it.
Your instruction that that little nipple in the center is bad if you can't push it in and it bounce back up on its own is bad information. I thought so too at first. I read the same service bulletin. The nipple it was talking about is on the back side wall of the hole where you removed the actuator from. Not the actuator you removed from the hole.. That nipple you can pull up, but not push in. The one inside the hole where you install the actuator is the one you can push in and and then bounces back up on its own. Both the nipples sit flush against each other when you install the actuator.
hello,, I'm having all kinds of different issues with my vehicle. what was the P code do you remember. and did you happen to notice besides the engine running terrible did the RPM gauge in the vehicle work with the bad cam sensor?
I have a 06 Malibu SS with a 3.9L engine ... the blocks on the 3.5 and 3.9 are pretty much the same ... since they are the same my 3.9 has the same pulley setup your 3.5 has there with the cam actuator solenoid ... What my question is , is ; Before you fixed this sensor was your car shifting hard , and if it was ; did this fix cure that problem? My Malibu SS is throwing the code P0010 Instead of P0011
I have yet to fix it, I have ordered parts from GM including the Cam Magnet and a Map Sensor to replace;Hoping that those fix it. The parts will come in sometime next week and i Will put them on and fill you in on how it goes. Iv been driving like this for over a year now , ready to get it fixed lol
tough2012. i ordered actuator and im waiting for it how much do you think would be the labor on something like that i also have 2006 malibu ss im trying to pass smog and am really having trouble
I have no idea on that Marcus , I live in Alabama were we don't have smog regulations or inspections to pass. I am also fitting the part myself to save some money. I haven't went into the dealer or a mechanic shop yet to get a quote to even know were to start with labor charges to give you an idea. It don't look to be that bad of a job but if it comes down to were i might have to pull the engine cradle down or something to get to were i can change the sensor then yes i may have to go to a Dealer to have it done myself.
Sorry for the late response. Do you have lights on the dash when you turn the key. It might be a check your fuses, take it out of park..... not on a hill . Make sure your break is set. Than try starting. Or might be your ignition switch itself. Good luck
Finally!!! Thank You so Much for this video. I only wish I could’ve watched you get that part off of there from start to finish. Wish me luck!

Thank you so much its the same for my 2007 saturn aura
I also been looking up at other videos and its nothing like this.

Will this drain the battery?

i have the same problem. how did u handle it

Did you end up swapping the actuator?
Could you tell me all of the tools you needed to take it off?
pain in the ass , T20 torx bit and it's next to impossible to get at the 2 screws below( top one was easy ,
does this video apply for the 06 g6 2.4l engine?
No the 2.4 they are on top of the valve cover on pass side
does any oil draining need to be done before doing this?
Mine had the wiring melted, and im pretty sure that is an air filter box, not an AC box
Where did you find this part, dealer only? How much did you pay? Thanks!
AutoZone
de beers. I could only find it at the dealer. it was 85.00s .
My Pontiac G6 2009 is throwing a error code to but it's not turning over or even trying to crank up at all not even spinning over it all

That’s not a sensor. It is an actuator
