- Here is the duet presentation of Sharada Kouthuvam by Mridula Sivakumar & Mrinalini Sivakumar in SDN's Satyam Sivam Sundaram dance festival 2021 held @ Vani Mahal.
SHARADA KOUTHUVAM -
SHE is Sharadha, the consort of Lord Brahma and the giver of wisdom. HER luminous form radiates like the full moon and SHE endlessly bestows boons like the Kalpaka Tree. Holding the Veena in HER hands, SHE abates the sorrow of those who surrender.
A verse from Shyamala Dandakham followed by Sharada Kauthvam...
This Kouthuvam has been composed by Sri G Srikanth adapting the lyrics from the Marati bhajan on Goddess Saraswathi. This is set in Valachi ragam & Misra chapu talam.

Great performance Mridula chechi and Mrinalini chechi.......❤ Iam also a classical dancer who is following the kalakshethra style of bharatanatyam . In thattimettu adavu we usually place our foot in L shape. I came to realise that in . 4:50 they do a thattimettu adavu in L shape. I thought that in melattur style this adavu is dances in aayadam ........ Can you please explain that i want to know more .......

What an exquisite performance by the Sivakumar sisters that does justice to this beautiful choreography, and music. You make SDN school proud. The productions from this institution is of high quality and have set the bar. This is something that all students of Bharatnatyam must aspire and strive to live up to or exceed, nothing less. Wow! Who will say that Mridula had taken a sabbatical! She is back in full form as an even more matured dancer... and her expressions are just divine! Mrinalini has matured quite a bit as a dancer too. From a viewer perspective, if she can hold her balance for a little longer for the one-legged postures, her dance will have more charm (it is already very charming, just so you know :) Great going by the sister duo!
Btw, I am mesmerized by G. Shrikant’s rendition! His vocals take the dance to a different level altogether!
