Of all things to get added to the game I never expected the Assassins. They can be generally game changers, had great times in the past with a Vindicare. I was kinda hoping they would be like a 5th or 6th squad member as sometimes it seems like the numbers game was a factor.

They project an aura around them that makes them untouchable by the powers of Psykers and they are one of the few things that Demons fear for those with the Blank Gene can destroy their souls. Vindicare: Pretty much as you see. Top tier marksman. The classic sniper trope multiplied by several thousand times. Callidus assassin: The classic infiltrator trope. What makes this assassin unique is the use of a drug called Polymorphine that allows the assassin to physically look like someone else. Eversor Assassin: Imagine someone with top tier raw brutality. Then said someone get pumped with so many drugs and chemicals that makes roid-rage look like a cute little puppy. and even if you did manage to kill it, it'll still go boom in a explosion of chemicals that will kill you if you are close. This is the assassin you send if you want to drown an entire town in blood.

Honestly Odd, you should return to this game since you havnt been playing too many games recently. In addition to the dlc they just released, They have come out with the previous duty eternal dlc, and over a dozen updates adding new enemy units, mission types, maps, wargear, and a load of balance changes. It would be wonderful to see you do another season of Chaosgate!
I’m ready for this to be the new XCOM season because we’re out of options to spice up an XCOM 2 WOTC season but this game has a ton of DLC that we haven’t seen on the channel
They....added....assassins?! - I know grey knights are crazy in WH40K. Assassins is a whole nother level. Culexus Assassins: The most powerful nulls in existence. Basically one in a billion if not fewer has this trait. Nulls basically cause extreme discomfort to anyone around them, especially people with psykic powers. A culexus assassin being near a daemon or Psyker will make them try to kill themselves or they will go insane rather than be near them. Psyker powers simply do to work around them. Sometimes their victims die before the assassin ever gets to their target. These are sent to solve psyker/daemon problems Vindicare: Imagine a top trained sniper, that can slow their heartbeat to one beat per 5 minutes while remaining in the same position for weeks on end. Waiting for the perfect opportunity to take one shot at extreme distance - These guys basically never miss Callidus assassins: Shapeshifters taken to the extreme. If the empire wants to do a political assassination these guys can kill their target and take over their role. Basically only psykers will be able to discover that a trade has taken place....a psyker that survives discovering them that is Eversore assassin: Imagine pumping the most powerfull physical enhancement drugs and psyko-stimulats makeing them permanently berserk into a dude you have super trained to doom marine type levels. They are kept in stasis chambers and launched at their targets. Their handlers don't even want to be on the same planet when these guys are unleashed. These are used on entire families or strongholds when the imperium wants no survivors. Eversore assassins basically keep killing till they drop over dead If one of these guys is after you. I hope the emperor has mercy on your soul for these assassins will not
Lore wise having a Culexus Assassin onboard a Grey Knight ship would be off putting for all the Knights given she (you know I never considered that there were female Culexus) is a psychic void. It is said that even a Hive Tyrant is troubled by their presence. Looks good. I agree with others that you should really limit to one assassin per mission but they did fine. Now even less likely that you will ever field a techmarine (poor techies, always the last to be picked whether it be Aliens or 40K). Vindicare are going to be a favourite I predict. Just keep him back and let him snipe. Love to see you run a new campaign with all DLCs and addons.
I'm planning on running a set up with Vindicare and then a Purgator and Inceptor with support fire. You can have those 2 nearer to the enemies while the Vindicare takes shots from a distance. it should trigger the support fire on those 2. Not sure how good it will be, but definitely want to try it.
I knew a girl like this once.... Soul sucking unnerving presence.... But of course sniper is gonna be top priority. In Chaosgate bolter got a range of CoD shotgun and deals no dmg to people behind tissue paper. And on Higher difficulties they got absurd amount of HP.
It makes absolutly zero sense... Culexus presence would erase any and all demons -_- Demons would rather showe their ass into their gods face instead of being hit by Animus Speculum that thing ERASES souls. No coming back from that one...
You need to exploit the AP regen at start of combat. If you se or expect that a move will trigger combat, use as many AP as possible, then trigger combat and get all the AP back.
@@DartNoobo you are getting that wrong. Three Chapters attacked the Eversor Temple and all of the Eversors and all the Space Marines died but one of each.
Culexus assassins are so good dude. lol I maxed out mine and she can easily one shot low level enemies. If on Plague marines, she takes about 1 overcharged and one regular shot to kill one. Plus the range is so long and she can shoot through obstacles. Sooo good.
Worth noting that executions only give KNIGHTS +1AP, and you don't need to move beforehand, it'll go above max. It's probably best not to use more than one assassin most of the time since the bonus AP is really useful.
The Culexus headgear is indeed lore accurate. Its not very lore accurate for one to be standing next to a grey knight however. As Culexus Assassins are nulls, under normal circumstances a psyker would be uncomfortable near a null, culexus's are weaponised nulls and their presence onnthe same ship would be outright painful for every grey knight aboard. Also, in the team load screen, notice how the Eversor was in tank, unlike the other assassins. This is lore accurate as unlike the others theres nothing remotely subtle or stealthy about them, they are outright manic, insane, crazy, hyper murder weapons that you have to keep in stasis to prevent it from killing its handlers, you simply start waking it up, teleport it into the middle of the enemy camp, and then block your ears to avoid hearing the bloodcurdling screams of both the Eversor and its victims as it rips apart everything it can find before eventually exploding.
I used the Callidus first, she absolutely melts high armour targets. I haven't messed with her properly yet, and only used her damaging abilities in the game I used her in. You can set up some nice combos with her disruption ability and her debuff though.
Null if strong enough and found by inquisitor or black ships soon in his/her life, can be trained into culexus assasin. But not every null is asasin. Calidus are in lore able to reshape and mimic almost any human and xeno, including voice, language, smell etc.

I just got this DLC. Started a new game. Got first boarding mission. But can't destroy reactor. Tried everything. Bombs, bullets, and bashing. When I try to click on reactor I get nothing. Won't highlight it. Do I need assassins to destroy it?
all the assassins, might be super good, but Vindicare, Eversor, and Callidus assassins, are all kinda scared, of the Culexus assassins, in the lore... just by PASSING u, they wanna make u end your self, and that's if u are just a normal person, but if u are a PSYKER, just end your self, if u see a Culexus assassins, in the distance! PS: if u watch "Every single Warhammer 40k (WH40k) Faction Explained" part 1 and 2 (about 3 eyars old, but VERY detailed), from the YT channel Bricky, u will learn a lot about WH40K factions, who the different "clans" are, and how INSANE powerful, and CRAZY scary, some are... i watched it, after your last time playing this game, and OMG, it gave me a lot of insight, and now i will enjoy u playing it again, even more!
Honestly it needs more enemies, it says demon hunter not demon hunters a plague story, needs more chaos forms and demons and idk why there isn’t a warp strom ability turning normal humans into warp spaghetti monsters.

the fact the celuxus is in this game and the greyknights arent in absolute pain just standing beside them isnt lore accurate. the grey knights would be clawing their own skin off.
I would have preferred if the Assassins Guild was a 5th spot, but you could only take one per mission.

The Vindicare has the best voicelines and that's why I'll choose him first. I don't like the way the Eversor sounds.
I genuinely enjoyed this game but something about an hour long mission makes me shy away
