you've got a really makeshift sort of vibe with your cooking that I really admire. sometimes I feel silly combining random old leftovers and scraps, but then you go and put coffee creamer in your corn flakes like it's nothing. food has no rules!
I rarely comment at all but i wanted to say that i really really like and enjoy ur videos. They're super comforting to me and i love how they're not crazy about being healthy and counting every calorie you eat cause that's a very harmful idea especially about veganism. a lot of youtubers and vegan influencers try to put this label about how vegans should always be eating super healthy foods and boring salads all the time otherwise there's no "goal" in being vegan. I really love how you just eat what you crave at the exact moment whether its healthy or not!. Lots of love xoxo
I would recommend making kimchi fried rice!! it gets ride of the kimchi texture pretty much and brings out the flavor (plus its stupid easy to make and super customizable)
Korean style Kimchi pancakes are also a great way to use up kimchi, along with making Kimchi Jjigae, a type of stew and I know you love your soups and stews. There are a bunch of veganized recipes on youtube 🌟💚🥰
@@Rinaa11214 I just cook the kimchi for a bit until you can smell it and then I put cooked rice in with it with a bit of sesame oil and an egg but you can add veggies or tofu or whatever you want really :0
I love this style of video - I'd always watch more! Also, I'm in love with Maple and you should do a video where you cook/eat "dog-friendly" meals so Maple gets to taste test a lil bit of everything
I've been watching some of your old videos, and I'd just like to say that I really love the music you put in the background of your videos now it's so chill, and also that the brunette hair suits you so well. Not that your old videos aren't good or that your blonde hair didn't suit you, idek what I'm trying to say, just that the vibe and look you have now is... Immaculate. 💕
I've not felt like cooking lately so I've been eating more unhealthy and I've really felt the difference body & energy wise. As usual, your what I eat in a week provided nice & simple meal ideas
From a fellow chai lover who enjoys a strong drink, I recommend Third Street Chai! Their Dragon Tongue Ginger flavored concentrate makes awesome chai. I especially like it for iced chai. You can pick it up at some Whole Foods, as well as some grocery stores. Amazon also carries it.
i cut up my kimchi really small and turn it into a salad dressing by mixing it with some rice vinegar, a lil sugar, tamari, oil, a lil raw garlic, and it goes well on like a cucumber salad or a cold quinoa salad (:
Something about the way you filmed the making of the food reminds me a lot of the achillvegan days :3 I remember watching when I first started going vego, so this was really nice and comforting c:
Honestly adore your videos, your demeanour and the way you talk is just so easy to watch/listen to and this is coming from someone with adhd who struggles to pay attention to anything for longer than 2 minutes but I can watch your videos in one sitting. Also love love love food haul vids, especially from aldi and stuff like that cuz we have those over here too so it’s interesting seeing the differences. Anyway. Love from the U.K.
I definitely prefer these types of videos with the voiceovers and the full week I think it shows how to use leftovers so well and I love just seeing new things to try for snacks. But also wanted to say you are the perfect example of a healthy balanced normal vegan who eats food that is tasty but still nutritious and nourishing. Thank you for showing the world what normal vegans look like and what we eat also love how you are mindful of price and are so low waste you have always been my favorite vegan you tuber 😁
i missed this sm pls continue this. I really like watching you make makeshift meals, or use leftovers because it’s so realistic and remind me that I don’t have to make something new every day and how to realistically add certain things for my meals I also just enjoy watching lol
I love al your content but the wieiaw videos are my absolute favorite videos. I just find the soooooooooooooooooooooo relaxing and comforting to watch. I love the doggy too.
I am so impressed with how many different styles of food you are able to make. Culinary bad ass! Also if the lettuce is wilted but not slimy just submerge it in ice water for 1 hour. It will come back to life ("
I think I slightly prefer to see you "live" and talking but tbh I love all your videos, they're so chill and the vibes are chef's kiss. Loved seeing Maple!! 💕💕💕
emily! long-time viewer here (like since i was a junior in high school... im now a junior in college ^^), just wanted to say, your videos are so comforting for me! I love putting them on while I'm cooking or doing the dishes. I wanted to give you a recommendation for a good chai i like. The one I use and love is a chai powder from the brand Blue Lotus Chai and it's the Traditional Masala Chai. I usually take 1 heaping scoop with the scooper provided and mix it into liquid sweetener (date syrup is my fav bc I feel like it goes really nicely with the flavor of the chai, but honey, agave or maple syrup work great as well) to make kinda like a paste of sorts. Then I slowly mix in 1/2 a cup of hot water, stirring to incorporate everything. Then add 1/2 a cup oat milk or any other non-dairy milk and fill with ice. It's so so yummy!
Using loose leaf rather than tea bags for your chai allows you to adjust the intensity of it! Also when you use the tradition method of simmering it in a saucepan it has more chance for the flavours to come out. And with loose leaf you can see the full star anise, cardamom pods and cinnamon sticks all in there whereas teabags just can't hold a lot in so maybe skimp on them? I'm not sure, I just find you get a stronger flavour when you you loose leaf over a saucepan
You can make a chai concentrate by boiling/simmering the tea on a low flame for twenty minutes. Use as many bags as you can, depends on how much water. I do this to make regular chai because I usually have the spices on hand (green cardamom, cloves, fennel, optional cinnamon and vanilla). Adding a 1:1 ratio of sugar to water will turn it into a syrup over time, but I find that a 3/4 cup tea to 1/4 cup milk ratio works best for me, but sometimes half and half is fine depending on the strength of your brew! Sugar is always to taste. Tasting chai without sugar and then adding sugar is the best way of finding your true chai taste buds.
Omg I saw something recently about limp Lettuce, and that it's actually just thirsty. So if you submerged it in ice water for a little while it will turn crispy again because it rehydrates? 🤷♀️
i'm a barista and when we do pour overs we "bloom" the grounds by wetting them evenly so when you stir ur coffee grounds in the french press it seems like another form of blooming (: you might be getting some extra good flavors
i like both styles of video, but i prefer this one. I think it is a better way for me to personally get a view of what i can possibly do with all of the food i buy. with the other ones that are more like glimpses of a few days or only cooking, the bigger picture is harder to see. Thanks so much for taking the time to make these videos!! I am trying to get back to a more plant based lifestyle and when i see you making it happen, it seems so much more attainable
We smooth out our guacamole & put water on top of it to keep it green. Just remember you did that if you take it somewhere so it doesn’t jostle around a lot & the water mixes in.
For me I find washing my fruits, veggies and greens in vinegar water, drying it and putting it in a glass container with a wet cloth. I normally cut off the stems of the salad and separate the leafs. ✌️
You might like homemade kimchi that is fermented for only a few days, like 2-3 days, so it's still crunchy. Sometimes store bought kimchi is feremented too long it can have slimy yeast culture on top, which is not dangerous, but not enjoyable either.
ok this was wild to watch because we have literally almost an identical diet... from the coffee pre bath, to the nugo bars i'm obsessed with and tofurky sandwiches, stir frys, etc. i was like wait is this my own what i eat in a day?? clearly we have good taste tho
Try making kimchi with daikon radish! I had some that I threw in with the normal Napa cabbage last time I made kimchi, the daikon was v crunchy and delicious
TLDR; wrap heads of washed lettuce/greens in cotton cloths in the produce drawer, prepared/cut greens & herbs in tupperware with paper towels; switch both the cotton cloth & PT out when damp/moist as that can cause wilting. Oversharing/infodumping, but: My brother who has worked in the food industry for over 10 years wraps his heads of lettuce in a cotton cloth & stores it in the fridge. Cut or baby greens and herbs in tupperware with paper towel. Just replace the cloth wrapped in (even half heads of) lettuce, & replace the herb & cut or baby greens paper towels often to avoid wilting, browning & cell destruction. At the restaurant I work at, they store cut or picked herbs in plastic delis & large scale greens in industrial multi-quart-sized tupperware containers that they keep on rotation within like 2-3 days, depending on freshness & demand.
for your chai... Stash Double Spice Chai :) you could also add cinnamon stick to the latte to kick it up more 😌☕ also... kimchi fried rice is deeliisshhiiiisssss
I really enjoy your videos. They are just the most relaxing thing. As for the chai dilemma, maybe you can just call it "masala chai" which means "spiced tea"... But I think people understand anyway 😅.
Try Cleveland's best kimchi it comes in a bag like a plastic zip top bag, i know thats not sustainable packaging BUT its all shredded similar to sauerkraut, anddd it is not like regular kimchi texturally, u will love it

tomatoes contain natural msg so they add a rly nice umami flavour to the base of stews n stuff :) luv using tomato paste for that concentrated umami

I love the music and your narrating is so entertaining-- don't change this style. You are talented. Loved seeing Maple too! Hi Maple!!
queen of "we'll come back to that"
Trader Joe's has a Chai concentrate in a bottle for under 3 dollars. It's my favorite one to use aside from freshly brewed chai🌟💚

Love 🥰 Emily's video's and she has a fantastic balance between vegan WFPB foods and vegan processed junk food. Love 💗 Emily.
I love the way you cook it gives me so many ideas and I am inspired to recreate my left overs

the shot of maple eating spagetti is so funny i love them
Bengal spice from celestial teas is so good. It's decaf but super flavorful 😊👍
Omg one of my favorite teas - so cinnamonie and warm and delightful
i do slightly smaller lettuce bundles in my foil but i wrap it with a paper towel first to absorb some of the moisture
Ah I love the return of the chill vegan. Honestly this was so nice. I love the longer video length too.
Omg THE SOUR SWIMMERSSSSSSS they’re soooooo good!!
Loved your A Chill Vegan videos - you were the first vegan that I followed on RUclips! Thanks for the nostalgia. Xx

im partial to your old vids for sure but i always love some variety
you gotta get rishi’s chai concentrate. it’s the absolute best. perfect mix of spice and sweet and warmth. yes.
I love the Tazo and Oregon trail brand of chai concentrate! Both are at Walmart :)
Maybe submerge black tea in cold water for 8 hours? That should be very flavourfull but not bitter :3
Maple omg she’s amazing
this ^
favourite chai tea if you can find, i haven't been able in years.. is celestial bengal spice "tiger tea"
i loved this vid

I missed this style of video
I've tried a kimchi cubed radish that is so fun and crunchy! Would highly recommend
I love you and your videos! just so comforting!
I really like the "old" podcast style ^^
honestly love that you censored the grill!!! feel like I have to see that enough, so really nice and fun of you to take the time to blur that out

whole grain pb & j sounds SO GOOD
Maple is gorgeus 🥰
You can also put some lemon juice on a half avocado, so it keeps fresh too ☺️🥑
I’ve missed these types of videos 🧡🧡

The Tazo chai concetrate is primo, and its the concentrate that sbux used to use :-)
Loved the video. Always makes my day when you pit a new one. Also, cucumber kimchi is delicious!!!!

I have found that when I order my guac on the side at chipotle rather than in my actual bowl, I get more. AND leftovers don’t get all brown!
just started the video but love maple eating carrots
The Tazo pre-made chai is soooooo good. It just has honey in it but otherwise it's vegan - Costco sells them for super cheap :)
Now this is the Maple content I have been waiting for. You better cronch on that carrot queen.
Emily feeding her T-shirt tiger chips and her dog rejecting a carrot- all I needed to laugh my a** off. Thank you!
hell yeah dude another video woop woop
You should try some radish kim chi if you can find it vegan. Its super crunchy and a great side just with rice.
You could try making kimchi pancakes (kimchijeon)! It gets all fried and crispy
