The Warcraft movie had a lackluster opening in North America, however, overseas the film has been setting records. This means that a sequel is much more likely than we would have otherwise thought. We've seen situations before where the Chinese box office has turned lackluster films into successes, but this may be the very first time that foreign success has made a film that would have otherwise bombed a bona-fide hit. Warcraft, Wow, Warcraft 2, Warcraft 2 trailer. We know that Duncan Jones is interested in making another Warcraft movie, and with the money that the movie made in China, we're sure that Universal is also interested. Rather than simply making a sequel for the sake of the box office, here are the ways they can make Warcraft 2 a better movie overall:
Lean On The Story Of Arthas
Because the first Warcraft movie gave us an ending that was less-than-subtle about a future installment, we wouldn't expect Warcraft 2 to be any different. The story arc of Arthas, the crown prince of Lordaeron, is one of the most popular that the game series has to date. He deserves his own film, and while that film probably won't be Warcraft 2, the movie could still introduce him, as a setup for a potential third film. We don't have to leave Warcraft 2 with the half ending that the first one gave us, just drop the character in. Fans will understand, and the rest won't need to, unless a third film actually happens.
Have A Main Character
One of the problems that Warcraft had was that the film lacked focus. Not having a dedicated lead is ok, if you have an ensemble cast working together. However, Warcraft has so much going on in so many places that the structure doesn't work as an ensemble, either. If Lothar is our story's hero, that's fine, but then focus on telling the story from his perspective. We know that Warcraft is steeped in lore, but the audience only needs to know the parts that are vital to the story being told. Pick a perspective, and stick with it.
Include Other Races
The Warcraft movie is primarily based on the first game created by Blizzard, subtitled Orcs vs. Humans. However, the movie still teased us a wide variety of races that we never really met. If the world is full of dwarves, elves, and gnomes, then let us meet them, because they might be more interesting than the humans. Warcraft 2 movie, Warcraft 2 movie trailer, Warcraft 2 teaser trailer, shadowlands, Wow shadowlands. Battle for Azeroth,TeaserPRO. The world of Azeroth is vast, but it didn't really feel like it in this first movie. We know the races become more important in the future games, so let's make sure that carries through to the film.
Increase The Naval And Air Combat
One of the things that Warcraft II added to the game series was combat, both in the air and on water. Since the movie was based on the first game, it chose to limit its action sequences to the sort of thing we might have seen in the first game. The film had beautiful flying mounts, and some action scenes in the air with them could be amazing. Likewise, some seafaring adventures would not be out of place. World of Warcraft, World of Warcraft shadowlands, Rise of the Lich King, Lich King, Lich King trailer, Lich King cinematic, blizzcon, blizzcon 2019. The highpoint of Warcraft was the digital effects and motion capture work that ILM did for the film. Blizzard, diablo 4, Overwatch 2. Let's see what they can do to take it to the next level.
Let's Get To The Burning Legion
In the opening voiceover of the Warcraft movie, it is already intimated that there is an outside influence pulling the strings in the battle Hearthstone between the orcs and humans. This external force, known as the Burning Legion, needs to be brought to the forefront soon. Warcraft ended with a brewing war between two sides, both of whom are mostly sympathetic, as we know they don't really want to fight. Even those who only saw the movie know the fight between orcs and humans is not what this story is about, so show us the real enemy and let's get to battling it. Another movie about people being manipulated will get very old, very fast.

So I just happened to realize that's a fan made trailer. Well that's a relief, I don't want to see Chris Hemsworth in Warcraft to be honest.
I mean he's a good actor but I can't see anything else than Thor when I see his face and I have to admit that The Avengers is really not my cup of tea. I think it would just mess up the whole atmosphere of the movie.

it's way too soon for Arthas just yet. Thrall was still just a baby at the end of the first movie, meaning Arthas wasn't even born yet. Warcraft 3 or 4 would be Arthas movie.
You would think for the sequel it would have the lore from Warcraft 2 since the first Warcraft movie was about Warcraft 1

They need to stop jerking our chains, (pun intended) and take a moment an release this movie. The first one didn't do good only because Rotten Tomatoes didn't give it good reviews. That's why it fell at the box office. I thought the first one was well written with humor an a side of compassion rarely seen in the Orc's world. It was beautifully scripted in my opinion that followed the storyline an gave the audience what they craved- Magic. I feel like some of the magic could've been better but it still gave us an early insight inside the world Known as Azeroth and Would love to have Seen Kalimdor and how the Taurens came about, but then would have to see Thrall grow to be the Chieftain he was known for. Lich King was way later, even after Outlands inside the dark portal. The movie business alone could've done so much with this movie an even turned into a franchise with as much lore that the World of Warcraft carries with it. Such a shame to not see it on the big screen with all that has to offer. Maybe Amazon will pick it up and produce it, one can only hope.

The story of Arthas is one of the most iconic. Hollywood doesn’t need to fuck it up. However, I wouldn’t mind if Blizzard made it themselves and released it or did like a mini series on Hulu/Netflix.

Hailed by powerful demons? Arthus is hailed by noone, he is a overuler of the entire worlds dead and seeks to wipe humanity from earth. There is no demon in him anymore, he's part of the 'Lich King' fasade because of his corruption. Demons hate Arthas because he betrayed The Burning Legion (long story) even tho Arthas was technically made by the legion (The armor etc is possessed by an old orc bound to it by Kil'Jaeden).
After the Horde came through the Dark Portal led by Gul'Dan and Llane was killed in heroic battle instead of assassinated by Garina, who is now wise-cracking Lothar's side hussie, it only seems fitting that we jump straight to Arthas.
Maybe Frostmourne can play the comic relief; Chris Rock could do the voice.

Warcraft is a fond memory for many gamers in China. Because many players traveled to the Azeroth continent when they were young. And deeply love this world. I am a Chinese gamer and I have been playing Warcraft for many years. I'm a human paladin in World of Warcraft, and I enjoy riding around in Stormwind on horseback. I very hope that Blizzard will make another movie, and many fans and players around the world are waiting for the next Warcraft movie.
As a veteran Warcraft player and lore monger I fully support this concept and as the Lich king plot is the logical course in the Warcraft movie franchise I believe that it would have to be told in the second and third movies in order to tie Thrall and the orc exodus to Kalimdor into the plot. Ideal opportunity to introduce trolls and other races besides the Magne Bronzebeard 15 second cameo in the first movie
But what about the second war? Where the orcs burn down stormwind? Or how the orcs meet the jungle/forest trolls? Or when they try to attack silvermoon? Or even when Gul’dan betrays them and gets killed because of it

Cool Idea - I want to see a Lich King Warcraft Movie - THAT - Would be epic....a World of warcaft trilogy that follows thru the expansions in some fashion...
Warcraft II will be about the Orcish Horde, triumphant after the sacking of Stormwind, invading Khaz'Modan, Stromgarde, Gilneas, and the Kingdom of Lordaeron, and then eventually being repelled by those same kingdoms. It is Warcraft III that you seek regarding Arthas and the Rise of the Lich King.

fact is, warcraft consists of so many seperate characters and plot lines that it's extremely hard to adapt into a series of movies. A tv series would work better. Warcraft 2 continues the story of warcraft 1 but warcraft 3 basically starts a whole new one with basically none of the characters from the first two games/stories. Anduin Lothar, Orgrim and Gul'dan have potential for story progression but they set it up very rickety, not even ending the first movie with the sacking of stormwind and not including the shadow council in the plot which will make it hard to explain death knights in the hypothetical sequel.
Unfortunately, they wrote the first movie keeping in mind that it might very well be a standalone film and not do well enough for a sequel. It's also generally just written pretty poorly.
Even though a lich king story would be very cool, it'd be hard to throw viewers into a world that doesn't make any sense to them without any setup, so it was basically necessary to start with orcs and humans but as I said the warcraft story doesn't work for film, there aren't any clear overarching plots or character development until warcraft 3, and even then you have a bunch of seperate story lines that you could only really adapt into a tv show.
Fact: Warcraft at it's core is Human vs Orcs, Horde vs Alliance. Not Arthas.
Fact: If people have gone out and supported the first Warcraft film, we would have eventually gotten proper Arthas movie. But they didn't.
And an Arthas movie right out of the gate wouldn't have changed anything. Warcraft struggled because it couldn't attract a mainstream audience and because of the stigma against "video game movies".
this would be epic, BUT this would need to be at least minimum 2 movies each 3 hours. dramatic like the story, and the music would take huge role in the movie as simply listening arthas my son and invincible gives me shivers and sadness "its so epic" but yet the best story I have ever heard of.

Если вторая часть и будет снята, то она расскажет о более ранних событиях. Первая часть поведала об исходе орков из Дренора и войне с людьми. Между этими событиями и историей Артаса Менетила ёще куча других событий есть.
