Just WOW!! This is absolutely amazing!! Thank you for your service bithead 2000 - The SEGA Master System was huge here in the UK - bigger than nintendo and the NES.
Hot damn, does anyone on youtube have as much unbridled enthusiasm as Bithead before hitting Picture Picture time? Talk about Hype, Man. Gonna enjoy diving back into some Master System after watching this.
Bithead! Making Mondays great again! In my back yard, clear sky... stars everywhere... smoking a cigar and watching the greatest video game program in the history of human civilization.
Darius always had great music. Great video BitHead. I'm gonna go explore the Master System, I went from Atari to NES to Genesis I never knew of the Master System untill about five years ago.
Great vid…You know why its fun because just before you start a Game i pause the video and i play that game and then see How far i get and then see how far you get…..its a great way to get the most out of the video 🤘🏽for everyone else it was an hour video for me it was 3 hours 😂
I didn’t see this episode yesterday but it was on the front page today. I have the next five days off and I get to begin my vacation with bithead? Ordained 🙏
Master System was my first console after having a vic 20 and spectrum, I got it around 1988, it was pretty big in the UK. I loved Astro Warrior, it came as a pack-in, only three stages but all solid. A decent game for 1986. Did you include Submarine Attack? Thats a good shmup, with even better music, one of the best OSTs on the system, very metal. Oh dear you missed it, I think it might have been a europe only game. Zaxon 3D is for the 3D glasses, thats why it looks so weird, and why you cant see the altitude. There was another shmup that required the 3D glasses called Blade Eagle, a more conventional vertical shmup.
I know I know, I'm hiding in the corner trying to avoid all the tomatoes being thrown at me from you lot, Had most of the consoles except the Sega Master System. My friend a few streets away as kids had it though so I still got to play a few games on it.
Master System was an awesome system, still got one with 100+ complete games, choplifter, secret command, rastan, huge list of classics 52:38 is that a popular 80s tune???
I was a Sega master system fan as a child. It was far superior to the NES, just never had the backing. Phantasy Star 1 was a technological marvel for its day
Just in case you want to go directly to one of the games showed: 8:38 Aerial Assault (1990) 11:06 Astro Warrior (1986) 14:20 Bomber Raid (1988) 17:43 Cloud Master (Chuka Taisen) (1989) 19:40 Fantasy Zone (1986) 21:56 Fantasy Zone II - The Tears of Opa-Opa (1987) 24:03 Forgotten Worlds (1991) 25:53 Global Defense (1987) 29:59 Power Strike I (1988) 32:55 Power Strike II (1993) 37:07 Quartet (1987) 38:55 R-Type (1987) 42:09 Sagaia (1992) 45:12 Scramble Spirits (1988) 48:18 Transbot (1986) 53:03 Xenon 2 - Megablast (1992) 55:11 Zaxxon 3D (1987)
lol, there was a thing called europe too, we didnt suck up to nintendo and sega master system was pretty common here, so we just picked the best 8 bit system here ,just imagen
Master System had so much more power over the NES it was insane. SEGA knew what they were doing by bringing the Mark III on over, but they just couldn't garner 3rd party support over in the states. My neighbor Danny had the Master System and the Turbo Grafx. To say the least, we were eating extremely well growing up with some amazing games that just never got the light of day. Awesome system.
My favorite thing when you can relate those must be comfortable shoes I bet you could walk all day and not feel a thing and the sega master was the only thing I was mastering woooo bit head is most of the reason I watch this tube hail to the king baby the duke is in the house
I'm one of those rare people who grew up in the United States and had a Sega Master System during the late 80's when I was a kid and I LOVED it. How did I get it? My father got one from CRAZY EDDIE during 1987 for really cheap. Yes, CRAZY EDDIE... it was Eddie's chain of electronic stores in the U.S from years ago. Turned out Crazy Eddie ran a CRIMINAL EMPIRE and was a real life "retail gangster", which explains why my father got me 58 of those Sega Master System games really, really cheap from Crazy Eddie's stores. Crazy Eddie really was crazy. It was said that all of his prices were insane in all of the Crazy Eddie commercials, when in reality he was the one who was truly insane. LOL. His stores were awesome (super cheap prices and tons of selection, especially when it came to Sega Master System games). The main thing that got him and his criminal empire shut down was that he didn't pay all of his taxes, the IRS found out, then they investigated him and found out about all the fraud and other crazy and illegal things he was doing, and things didn't go well for him after that. LOL). I miss Crazy Eddie. We need a NEW Crazy Eddie in these inflation heavy modern times. Also, For Sega Master System, the Shmups I had were R-Type (I always loved that series. I have the Playstation 5 exclusive R-Type Final 3 which is really fun), Transbot (which came on the Sega Card), Bomber Raid (which came in one of those weird third party Activision boxes for Sega Master System), Cloud Master, Fantasy Zone 2, and Global Defense. Those were the shmup games I had as a kid. I ended up playing Astro Warrior, Power Strike and others many years later when I was an adult (I still have my Sega Master System and it still works). Great stuff.
I knew a girl in 8th grade who had her leg broken in a car accident. During recovery one leg grew while the broken didn't. She walked with a limp forever after.
It is hilarious that Bithead1000 went off and got all thje FAILURE consoles are the nes haha. Tg16, TG duo, Saturn, ahhaah. The stink nof death is have Bithead buy our console at launch.,
Sega Master System doing it big time!! This was my first console. R-Type was incredible, and I found Aerial Assault years later for about $20. It’s a simple, but pretty great shooter!
I love the Master System. The port of R-Type was the first time I really got into a shooter game, it opened me up to the genre. When I started hardcore collecting again as an adult, it was the first console I bought that I missed out on as a kid. Then Krikzz came out with the Master Everdrive and I went crazy downloading roms. You can play Sega SG-1000 games on the Everdrive no problem and there's actually a couple fun shooters. Not as good as the SMS games, but still worth checking out. Oh, Sagaia is part of the Darius games, you almost got to the fish mini boss. Very impressive for the console
I struck out twice. I went from master system to turbo Grafx. I got to choose and picked the systems no one else had or wanted to play. I finally have come to terms with it and actually love them both.
Xenon original was one of my favourite ZX Speccy games, still is. Xenon 2 you should play on Amiga. The music was a banger back in the day, still have my Bonb The Bass record in the collection
I was a little envious of the SMS's superior color palette and more-colorful sprites as an NES user. But I think that's where the advantage ends. imo of course.
In North Dakota here and i never knew anyone with the master system as a kid in early 90s. Just nes and getting into genesis and super nintendo. As an adult ive loved getting into the system. Another great video sir. P.S. this is Alan frim Wisconsin that sent the few oackages. Get me your address and ive got a monster of a package waiting to send as i lost your address
Everyone and their momma had an NES, real gamers had a Master System! =P In all seriousness, we got the MS probably because it's what my mom could find on the shelf that Christmas. Same reason we had the Intellivision. P.S. I was yelling at the screen for you to hit the other button when you were playing Fantasy Zone. Bombs baby bombs! You blow up all the bad guy generators and then you get to fight the boss. They did a Sega Ages release of it on the switch if you ever want to play the arcade version of it. It's one of the more trippy games Sega produced.
Power Strike 1 & 2 are the number 1 reason to have a Master System. The R-Type port was done by Compile and has an extra Stage that is only in that Master System port. Sagaia is also great on the Master System - no wonder if you know the developer behind it - it was Natsume.
My wife is Brazilian, and the game system that she and her friends owned was the SMS. Btw, years ago I went to the big open market of the city of Caruaru, and there was actually a good number of master system games being sold there, as well as a lot of pirated discs for PlayStation and systems like that. Hey, when you live there and the games are so expensive, I can't blame them at all for pirating them. Btw, the women are AMAZING, I mean, shit, I ended up even marrying one.😂
Just WOW!! This is absolutely amazing!! Thank you for your service bithead 2000 - The SEGA Master System was huge here in the UK - bigger than nintendo and the NES.

Bithead 1000 & Sega Master System. The greatest show on earth 👊
I needed some Bithead in my life! Let's go!!
The Master System punched way above its weight class. It’s a shame it wasn’t a bigger seller in the states.
Great video brother. Astro warrior is a challenging and fun game, love it. I love the Sega master system.
BitHead1000 AND SEGA???

Tuning in from across the pond
Happy bithead day!

Enjoy that vacation buddy
Hi brother. I am laughing so hard.
Me too, I remember people with those special shoes.. and special console's 😆
Very cool games, it was fun watching. The simple crisp graphics and sound effects create a unique feel; these do seem a notch above nes titles.
My favorite show!
You are the systems master!
Thanks for this one! You missed 3 great ones - Power Strike II, Scramble Spirits, and Submarine Attack.
Great video as always bro
I found that very educational 🎉
Cumpile doin it Big Time !!!
Yessy, check out the secret snail game on the Master System. Your UK fans love your show.
I love the UK! Ok we’ll have a look at it.

52:38 Sounds like the theme from Assault on Precinct 13.
23:44 bitheads greatest hits, now available on 8track
I had Golden axe warrior for my master system, me and my buddies thought it was way better than Zelda
Master System had so much more power over the NES it was insane. SEGA knew what they were doing by bringing the Mark III on over, but they just couldn't garner 3rd party support over in the states. Great to see you in here mate :)
I really love Road Rash as a motorcycle game.
Dude the Power Strike title theme sounds exactly like MUSHA's
I noticed a lot of recycled, music in older games.
I have loads of SMS games 😁 they so fun!
Watching you play these games you keep missing the power ups and Transbot was infuriating to watch you get power ups from the trucks at the bottom.
I enjoyed Super Hang-on on the Genesis and also the Road Rash series also on the Genesis.
Love Road Rash!
I still play Road Rash all the time!
Hang on in the arcade rocks and so does super hang on on the genesis.
Double dragon was so much better on the sms. As a little brother 2 player simultaneous action was always a win
God, I remember that version of double Dragon being so hard.

Ah, the good old Master System. Very popular in the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil.
"shmups?" I don't even know who you are anymore
True I feel like he used to hate that term and just call them shooters years ago like they did back in the day

Great system the 3d glasses blew my mind back in the day. Plus Rastan , Time solders and afterburner 3d . Yep 👍
Master System giving you built in games was a touch, should've been something that continued, and not a bundled cartridge i mean built in ready to go

if the master system could get the same licensing to companies like Konami and Capcom and Sunsoft, it would have absolutely destroyed the NES
"Hide the cocaine" forever!
RVF Honda on the Amiga is a great motorcycle game.

I don't think I've seen you play Gradius V yet. Don't know why but that was on mind.
to me sega master system best looking console ever, yeah cheap looking but cool and almost cyber punky!
The Xenon 2 music is the theme song from Assault on Precinct 13
