I’ll never understand why people bother celebrities when they’re just with their family. I went to watch a show in London once and Lawrence dellaglio was there with his family, being a huge rugby fan from the 90’s onwards lol is an idol of mine, being a back row too.. I’d have loved just to tell him how much I respected him but the greatest way I could do that was just by leaving him alone on a night out with his kids. I just think, if I were that person, how would I want the scenario to play out.

Because some people don't care. They think they're entitled to meet every celebrity and get a photo because they wouldn't be famous without the fans. There are plenty of videos around of people demanding attention from celebrities, then throwing a tantrum when they don't get what they want.

But for the other problem of not being able to walk outside without being approched, it is what it is. Thats the life off being famous, and that will never change, you choose that life, but how u react is your right. If u dont wanna take pics or if u want to. I will then say that u are making a big problem out off it, come on man its not that u have the same problems as ronaldo, messi or other great and big names. So if they can live without being rude og tired of there fans so can u.

Sometimes I think about a celebrity's life and how hard it must be knowing that the price you pay for pursuing a dream and becoming a public figure is having almost no public priveleges among 'normal' people where it becomes a life problem. Getting a protection dog kills two birds in one stone. You've got an animal that is there to protect you but he's also still a pet who fits into your family. That's the beauty of a dog and their loyalty is incredible. Congratulations on getting Wolf, Eddie, and wishing you and your family all the best under his protection.

Gorgeous pup Eddie! I would reconsider the lead when in public though. You can tie a small retractable on your wait if you’re out going for a run. It’s not really just for Wolf, especially seeing how well trained he is, it’s for other dogs. They can see he’s not on a leash while they are and they do feel a disadvantage so they may get nervous or aggressive. People may also get nervous, there’s no way to know he’s well trained, especially considering how rare of a phenomenon that is. Also, please reconsider breeding him. Being a breeder is a science. And by not treating it as such we see the results all over, with millions of strays and the shelters overwhelmed. All my dogs have been rescues and I train them all, including the ones I foster. Most of them purebred and the result of puppy mills or irresponsible breeding that doesn’t start with that intention.

    • @AltairEerik

But wasnt that the point to make people reconsider(nervous) if they approach Eddy. Let them be nervous. On the other hand other dog owners should know to keep distance? That's their problem. Sometimes you have to think about yourself especialy people like Eddy.

@@AltairEerik for sure, I definitely see your point, however having Wolf on a leash would still keep folks at a distance (I bet you and speaking from experience..lol). Not having a leash would affect strangers/random people walking their dogs. If we try to be responsible dog owners, we have to think of how other dogs and people would react and if we are unintentionally initiating a possible issue. It’s the same thing when taking a dog to a fenced dog run where all dogs are loose, it’s no good to keep your dog on a leash. I hope that makes sense. Everytime we take our dog(s) in public, we have to be aware of how other dogs may be reacting as we don’t operate in a vacuum and independently of others.

My dogs are obsessed with tennis balls so I can keep them occupied even when other dogs are close, people who want other dogs to be on a lead 24 7 can’t control their own dogs unfortunately. I know for a fact I could walk past Eddie with my dogs and there wouldn’t be an issue, people with poorly trained dogs are the only people who would have a problem 😢

@@nikkibouttell3232 Unfortunately we cannot ignore the reality that most dogs have limited to no training. Nature vs nurture, nature always wins.

    • @onemorelap_
      @onemorelap_ 3 года назад +5

This! My dog is relatively well trained and actively trains in Schutzhund & obedience, but on a leash we are still working on his dog reactivity. If Wolf came up to him off lead he would be going ballistic. Which in turn could cause Wolf to think of him as a threat and react. At no point has my dog done anything wrong (being on a lead and reactive is a problem but not exactly against the law) yet it could turn out one or both dogs are killed simply because of Wolf approaching off lead.

My children and grandkids have interacted with them all and NO problems - as was correctly stated in the video, they know their 'family'. It is very pleasing to show the GSD in a positive light. Wolf is beautiful and such a good boy! GSDs are amazing dogs. I know he's going to receive the best care possible with you, but if I may, I'd like to pass on some info I wish someone told me years ago before it was too late. I've got an 8 year old GSD with fantastic breeding, but even with that, her hind legs are starting to give out on her. She's on joint supplements now to maintain the good tissue and cartilage that's still in there, but my vet told me that starting them on a joint care regimen as early as possible can help prevent those problems from ever manifesting, especially for an athletic and hard working pup like Wolf! So if he isn't already on a joint care routine, it might be something to consider looking into! I do feel kind of silly offering this advice since I'm sure Wolf has an amazing vet and you know more about taking care of muscles and joints than I ever will, but if mentioning this can help a single dog somewhere, then it's worth it!

GSDs are Brilliant Eddie, my partners in the RAF and we’ve acquired a Romanian retired RAF protection dog. Ours is 8 now but still just as chilled out as ever, absolutely nails when you want him to be though. 🐕

Be very careful letting him off the lead in parks around toddlers/children. I’m sure you trust him and I’m sure you know him best, just be mindful all animals can switch, even mistaking something as a threat when it’s not. Humans make mistakes, dogs can too. Just be mindful and responsible. I’m sure you are and will be :)

The dog biting a giant sleeve doesn't mean it'll bite a human.
It's a nice steady dog, but there's nothing to even suggest "protection" for this dog is anything but a tug of war with a giant sleeve.
A dog that really targets people is a huge responsibility and I'm glad very few people have them.

If someone was to break into your property while Wolf was told to “wait” would he stay where he was, or defend the house?

The bleeped out bit was most likely the bite command. The dog will be trained to that command over any other.

I understand the question! If he’d *previously* been told to stay, and whilst he was in ‘stay’ mode someone broke in, what would he do?

The amount of entitlement people have, damn. As if they're entitled for your time. You owe them nothing. :'D
Also, Wolf is a very good boy. A very good pupper. Tell him that.

Stop sucking up to him. What makes you think that they think they are entitled, as opposed to someone who just wants to meet another human being they respect.
      P.s he owes them everything.

@@Martin-fd6rk I'm afraid for some people the word "picture" itself would be a trigger.
      But it's worth a try.
I think the hat would work.
Maybe some fake glasses rather than sunglasses even.
      Good idea.
The beast shirts are good advertisement but indeed not a good idea if you want to stay under the radar.
