My mom was extremelly good keeping money. Im not, but im learning before all debt is coming for me, at least i dont have debt of university so that is a pluss and the rest of debts are long term wich i will takle once i got a job stable ( i cant have one rigth now for medical reasons, but i have income aside). So im taking note on all of these
I have one of those rare children that will actually listen to me. LOL!! I told him that he needed to take a personal finance class, he is a junior in high school, he is just beginning it now and they teach the Ramsey way. I couldn't be happier. I started working on the baby steps 6 months ago because I got tired of feeling like a victim of financial circumstance and I feel so empowered now. I'm stronger, smarter and a better role model for my son now. Six months ago I thought it was ok if he needed to take out loans for college in a couple of years and just a couple weeks ago he told me that the thought of that weighed him down. So I told him, "there's another way baby...". Now he started making some decisions for a post high school direction and taking those steps smartly. I'm so happy I took my steps to financial freedom and I'm even happier that I can share that with my son before he gets a poor start in the world.
My 30 year old Cousin and her 35 year old Husband built a beautiful house this year debt free. They paid off their first house before she was 30. I am so proud of them. They have two toddlers living on one income, her husband makes average income. They just said no lots of times ...
I love SO much that famous Dave laugh when people do their debt free scream. It is so awesome that each debt free screams he still feels their passion and their freedom!!! I love that so much
Just paid off all my credit cards and loans. I am completely debt free but I also have no home or assets. Kind of somewhere in the middle with this crazy game.
I love Dave and Dr Delony together; he has the most chemistry with Dave than anyone else. And I watch them all. They just vibe so well together. Him and Ken Coleman are the best with Dave.
About 57 minutes in - Separate savings accounts. Last year, I found out that we could have more than one savings account with alongside our checking account. It allowed us to save for the expected extra costs through the end of the year, separately from the emergency fund. It has been great.

Hi Dave, you are doing an incredible job. What an inspiration to hear the success stories and such a pleasure knowing solution to financial problems that we face who have been taught zero financial lessons.
I have been investing poorly but consistently for 30 years and it has worked. I am amazed at the mess of accounts and funds that I am in. Spread about with many different accounts due to the many different employers we have had, working to consolidate.
Sounds like Steven’s girlfriend is waiting on him to lead the direction of their relationship. Why should she pretend they’re a family when he hasn’t asked her to be forever in his life?
I swear some people come on this show just for a pat on the back and an ego boost…. Like the first guy….. he knew exactly what to do…. He knows he didn’t need advice…
I get his point on the car payment on the 2nd call, but his numbers r insanely off $500 a month for 35 years is $2.7 million and that’s with a 12% return for 35 years
@@BuiltonGODSrock 500 a month meaning, once the car is paid off, people usually get another car or something like it. Gotta have a payment. He talks about his returns and I believe he says he hovers around 11%. That's still a lot of money to be made.
I've heard him use 12% for his growth examples. One of my mutual funds was up 150% last year. Even if you were just invested in a Dow Jones index, you're up over 16% in the last year. The 10% return average isn't gospel, ask the people who retired in 2008.
"My girlfriend wont be responsible" dude you being used. Those aren't your kids, the fathers who helped her bring the kids into the world need to be helping. You dont make enough money to be charitable. LEAVE NOW
Wow that second caller needs new friends. Hes what are parents meant when they said just because your friends jump off the bridge you're going to do it too? Wowwew
Dave saying "if you marry a princess you get a princess" is just wrong, it goes against everything he teaches. The entire program is built around the idea that people can change their habits. The people that stay in situations where they're leeching off somebody else or blowing through their paychecks as fast as possible do it because they don't think there's any upside to getting it under control. Once you sit down and do the math and see how much different things can be, it's an awakening, and you can never be the same person again before you saw the potential future.
I think it's more along the lines of inclination. I'm a foodie and I'm inclined to blow all my money on food. I have to wrk hard to curb that inclination so I actually have money to pay my bills. I'm a foodie, but I exercise self control over it. A princess' natural inclination is princess behavior. She can exercise control over it, but only if SHE wants to make that change. I think that's where he was coming from.
I wish Ramsey would help a little more with investing. We don’t have enough to justify a financial advisor so I tried to do the research myself and invested monthly into a mutual fund that was doing ok for the past year and a half but lately has been tanking like the market. When do I know it’s just not doing well enough that I should move it to a different fund?
good for him but for me this is so unralatable..ill have nowhere near this to retire, Ill be making my little cakes forever more I fear. I only started worrying about the fiture at 42 and im on a super modest income and single so it feels tough but im trying my best
I got trapped. Fell in love with my step daughter. Forced myself to love my girlfriend but never felt right but every time I tried to leave she would pull my heart strings and ask me how I'm able to walk away from our daughter. Taught her how to ride a bike, plenty of birthdays and great experiences with her. She's 6.

I would really like to know if people in their 60s could use their Savings in the market to make $1000000 if they have zero debt and own a house and have savings in the ballpark of 100k. Is that even possible ????
If everyone follows Dave’s preaching this country’s economy would be bankrupt! Thank god we didn’t have too many people listening to Dave that’s why US has the strongest economy in the world!
All the virtue signaling by John in this call is disgusting. Where was it ever said that the father of those children wasn't paying his share and being active in the kids lives? Also enough with the identatarian nonsense stating she has to look at women to lead or show her. If she has a strong father or.male in her life they will be very capable of providing her support. You can tell this nitwit has spent tons of time on a college campus.

Because it has an engine and is going down in appreciation

I bet the credit card company shareholders hate you Dave. If they hate you than you are helping us because they are not our friends.
Poverty is a mindset and people who cling to poverty will put as much effort into working the system as they would need to in order to be wealthy.
7:30 Wow he is so flippant being $40,000 in debt with $100,000 income. I'd be terrified. He's not a serious.
Dave Ramsey, still at it!
Great show especially when you were briefly talking about the index fund.
She should be financially responsible, however the man of the house is responsible for being the breadwinner in my opinion- the provider….
Yeah… when you are freaking married
When they start playing the music over your long, drawn out story of stupid choices, you know you're wasting their time.
Lose the girlfriend with the stamps.

Good stuff, thanks!
Great convo from Dave on asset depletion early in show
Very informative. Thank you!

80 hrs a week is a normal working week in America??? In Europe 40 hrs is considered too much :)
40 is normal in America. 80 is extreme. I love my job (self-employed) so I easily do more than 40 most weeks!
usually people who say they are doing more than 55 are lying.

$500/ month in a decent stock mutual fund would be worth 5 mil? Wouldn't you need like 14% interest for that? Am I missing something Dave?
