  • A quick walk around of Jet Provost T.5A XW434 at Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport. The Jet Provost was a jet trainer for the RAF from 1955 to 1993. I first saw this JP at Halfpenny in 2013 not long after they took delivery of it. It's a very nice gate guard however over the years it has deteriorated. Hopefully it'll get some TLC soon. A brief look at XW434 history - was constructed as a T.5 in 1972, converted to a T.5A in 1973 at Warton, after being used in several RAF flight training schools it was retired from service and put into stortage at Kemble (1991), fast forward to 1994 and it was transfered to Cosford for the Defence College of Technical Training. Then finally in 2013 it ended up at Halfpenny Green as a gate guard where it remains today.
This footage was shot using an Insta360 X3.
