Thanks for these big bear videos. I just inherited a 89 and it need quite a lot of maintenance. I noticed exhaust coming off the intake manifold and I think it is related to timing and valve adjustment. I'm glad I found your channel!
That's exactly right...thank u, this sounds much better than the clearances u had in another video, if I'm not mistaking u r the same person. Thank u much!
So what if it gets very tight without spark plug in half turn timing chain guide slap cylinder wall very hard to turn even with valves adjusted all the way out
@@MidNebraskaMotorsports ur the best man! im trying to fix my dads big bear 350 makes a squeak in the bottom end I think the rod bearing is gone. But your videos have helped me so much and its crazy how u took 70% off the engine in only 10 min!
Hi I was wondering if you might consider helping me out a bit? I have looked everywhere and I get different valve clearance setting recommendations from different places I look. Can you help me out? I have a 2006 Yamaha Bruin, Model: YFM350A - Vin: 5Y4AH10Y66A021826. The other thing is, my feeler gauge has both Metric and Inches. If you can help me out with the correct clearance settings, please tell me if they are to be used with Metric or Inches on my gauge? >
STOP!!! Unless this engine is going to be completely disassembled and rebuilt, it needs to be cleaned and plugged before opening any part. At a minimum, plug all the holes and blow it off with an air gun. Dirt is for riding on, not ingesting into your engine. Hygiene people, Hygiene ........ SMD
