*Great air pump **MyBest.Tools** Faster than my old plug in pump and twice as handy without having to drag the cord around. And it works with my existing Ryobi drills battery.*
4 minutes of loud noise for 1 tyre?!! I was just about to buy one but it is a lot faster to use a foot pump haha! Thanks for the video, this made me change my mind.
Thats fair enough! With multiple cars it's worth it with the auto shut off feature, for meat least. Allows me to multi-task. I do agree, a double foot pump will do the same.
Hi guys and gals,- one thing about reviews is the reviewers rarely read the manuals. The key thing all the reviews I have seen about this inflator is that you can inflate to PSI, Bar or kPa. This is versatile when you have different units like cars, trucks and tractors. They often use different units in their manuals. A really great plus.
Thanks for your review it was really helpful - I've been debating if I should get this (I have a few Dewalt batteries). I bought one and have never looked back, it is an amazing bit of kit. Expensive but worth it, I have found it to be very accurate. So much easier to use this than a corded inflator.
Good idea about the bag. I think the reason for a screw thread connection is that the level types can lock on but fail to connect properly, which may cause back pressure to the inflator. Nice bit of kit though.
@@jonwelch564 You are correct, if not connected properly the generator would just drive into no load, which might not be good. But your observation is correct. I really do like this bit of kit though, it works very well.
Might order it tonight ,keep it in car with emergency battery jumper, expensive but everything good has gone up so can't worry about prices anymore or you'll just have stuff that won't work
Thank you for taking the time to review this for us. It's quite expensive compared to other brands e.g. Ring. Have Dewalt 18v XR stuff presently but is it enough to persuade me to buy this more expensive item? Het ho! Thanks again.
Great video! I found it very helpful to decide whether to buy it or not. Btw whats the name of the pressure checker you used? Can you post a link from amazon or something?
Thank you. It’s a Michelin tyre pressure gauge, and I can’t find it on Amazon. I believe it’s been discontinued. I don’t use it much, I trust the tyre inflator.
Is it suitable for blowing up air beams in caravan awnings (around 7 psi) and is there an auto cut off on the low pressure side as well as the high pressure hose?
Im not sure on the awnings - if you normally use a pump similar to blowing up air beds, then yes it would work. The Low pressure side is just on or off.
Gah, no memory? My 10-12 year old Ring portable inflator remembers the last setting. I know it's a minor feature thing but it's always a much bigger let-down when it's something so simple and so obvious that they omit or get wrong. It really makes me wonder what else they might have overlooked or skimped on. I do like the soft-start mechanism and it seems quieter than the competition. Oh well, thanks for the overview.
Having read the instructions, they say the setting get wiped for safety reasons to avoid overinflation! I don't think they thought it through properly, as the setting prevents overinflation. Unless I have missed something.
Just over a year old and mines stopped working on battery... common problem if you research it. I've hardly used mine since buying it so not happy!! Only a years warranty
Thank you. I've only used it on cars/SUVs up to 45psi, and its been absolutely fine. Technically it should be fine on a van up to 70 psi, i don't see why not. Would recommend the 4AH battery though.
Throws away instruction booklet at the beginning, then has to leave the demo to 'figure out' how to change from Bar to PSI. Instruction booklets can be useful 😉
Hi. I haven't actually tried it this way. My understanding was that the cable is for recharging the battery from a 12v socket. Let me test it when I get back from home, and reply.
@@igorilla5769 sorry for the delay. I've now tested this, and it seems to work with the cable (without a battery), but rather poorly. It struggled to inflate a tyre at 35psi. I would say it's not recommended to use in this way, you would need to purchase a battery. Hope that helps 👍🏽
@@terrytibbs3336 Hi. There is no charger or battery in the box. I have a DeWalt drill, battery and charger that I bought separately. When I need the tyre inflator, I just borrow the battery from my drill. If you do not own any other 18v DeWalt products, then you will have to purchase a battery and a charger to use this. Hope that explains it.
Thank you for commenting. Me throwing the instructions were just for the video. Yes you are right, can only be used continuously for 10 minutes before it needs a rest for 20. I've never found it a limitation for me in my use cases, but for sure its something to be aware of 👍
I heard you can’t run it for more than 10 minutes. It needs to rest for 20 minute after working for 10. If you don’t give it a rest you could burn it out.
Yes that is something to mindful of. I think it is 10 minutes continuous use though.. I normally use this for 2-3 cars, and I am well inside that window. Thanks for the comment :)
In high flow - so inflating boats, swimming pools, anything that would use the wider hose... then run for ten minutes and rest for ten minutes. For tyre inflation that has auto-stop on the dialled in pressure then this restriction isn't in play. Also using very calibrated pressure gauges the DeWalt is within 10%.
NOTE: If the pressure rating for the item being inflated is above 100 psi, note that the maximum run time is 10 minutes. Leave to rest for 20 minutes before reusing. Above 100 psi !!! Above 100 psi !!!
Takes a while from what I understand. I would like a video comparing this dewalt high volume output to a SUP / inflatable kayak inflator/deflator output speed. I do take some confidence in a dewalt piece of hardware.
I am definitely looking to get one of these. Where did you get it from? Also you can get an attachment... www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RC3LVGR/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A3UXNW85YX9QTH&psc=1
@@SaqibKhaliq Thanks. I checked PowerToolMate but they don't seem to have them any more. Also I have discovered the biggest battery I have is a 2AH so I think it may struggle.
There is a 12v charge cable that comes with it. You can plug this into the power socket in the van to charge it. It's not for everyone, and that's the point in the review so you can decide. Cheers
Really what did you expect? It runs off the Dewalt battery system - I'm no particular fan of Dewalt but this is no different to ANY 18V power tool battery system. You won't be able to charge any 18V battery from your vehicle's 12V system without some type of inverter or boost circuit to get the charging voltage higher than the battery you're trying to charge.

The inflator needs the back pressure, otherwise it can't detect the pressure to stop at.

I am really wondering if this would work for high pressure road bike tires - any idea?
What is the pressure they require? I use this on my son's mountain bike. It's overkill on a bicycle.. but does the job.
I almost bought one of these but the prices of these on Amazon has gone up $40 in the past year.
I wonder if this can be used as a simple blower to clean dust from clothes etc. ?
I would say not ideal for that purpose based on experience 👍🏽
