      Wentel the Gentle DK
Yeah about 1 year 8 months for me, and meditating for a year, it actually makes changes to your brain they've done studies,
I think meditation and cardio are great foundational techniques for growing oneself
plus I do weights and other kool jazz,
The cumulative benefits of everything add up and pay off greatly more and more with time,
Obviously one must keep dedicated, focused, inspired, and disciplined. Then you won't regret it when the hard work pays off more and more months down the line. The processes for reaching true deep satisfaction have delayed rewards so most people lose focus and go for empty or even toxic stimulation

15 months of meditation here + self edducation in psychology and great things are happening. Nothing explosive. Just feeling happier every day. Life feels fine to me now, accepting it as it is without my expectations. Yet still a game that I can play :-)

15 months impressive Buddy. I started when I saw the video that Leo made about meditation for beginners 10 months ago.

    • @farmeroso

Hey buddy, nothing impressive, just meditation, that's all. Just a tool to improve the the perception of the reality, you know :-) I'd recommend that to everybody, just sitting and let the things happening. Yeah, Leo is great, one can never be thankful enought for the wisdom he shares - for free, just because he's passionate about sharing the ways to happiness and freedom. Have a nice day.

Thanks for this, Leo. I have dabbled in self improvement but never put in the "hard work" that you speak of because I've always been 'content.' Recently, I've been feeding off my low-level successes in life and I'm "crashing" so to speak-- I now know that there exists high quality fulfillment, and it's my goal to seek that out every day.

@ Leo: I am pursuing MASSIVE amounts of self education, I am raising my consciousness and I am LOVING IT!!! I am building the foundation, doing the Epistemic work, started a mediation practice and am actually becoming a meditation teacher because I believe in it so much. I have been following your advice since last September and everything in my life has transformed. (People, listen to this man, he teaches the Truth!) It's a beautiful gift that you provide, Leo, thank you so much for everything you do. I am thankful on a daily basis.
I've been looking for a video to show my family & friends so they can start to understand what I am undertaking, I think this is the one. As you have talked about before, it's very difficult to live amoungst the unconscious without wanting to enlighten them, so I will start with myself and just be the model. I am so grateful I discovered your teaching, and thank you for turning me on to Adyashanti's teaching, he is also so inspiring.

Leo sir, I would just like to take a moment to say that I have only recently stumbled upon your videos. I don't watch them rather, I listen to them while I'm working. (by carefully setting my cell phone in my pocket and just letting them play)
You are absolutely one of the most enlightening people I've come across since becoming a bit of a "self development junkie". It's your words of wisdom that have not only made me open my eyes and say "holy shit!" to myself, but also have really helped me in my journey of becoming the best human being I can be.
I'm 22 years old and I'm getting there;).
Keep doing what you do best you wonderful bald man that I was so fortunate to stumble across.

the things i took away from this video :
    1) being instead of having and doing, accepting yourself and not only accepting an idealized version of yourself. To realize the sensorimotor loop your function with, to realize the underlying motivations between every thought and analysis.
    2) Making long term observations, and observing instances of bias and self denial, avoid over analyzing these observations. Be very honest, and surrender control.
    3) Motivation for stimulation, becoming distraction free
    4) The evil and suffering inside you, finding out the interactions between your motivation and the motivation of other people. Everyone you are relating to, you are relating to in a very manipulative manner.

+oAKmjp. Wrong. People don't have a "lack of perspective". They just have a different perspective from your perspective. This should not bother you. It's natural.

I'm highly grateful to you and a couple other channels, that I've been following for a little while through my journey of dealing with anxiety and panic attacks, you give me a better understanding, that what causes my anxiety and that it doesn't make me weird, just overburdened by own ego. I've explored yoga and mindful meditation and each day i do it, i feel closer and closer to figuring out myself and accepting anxiety for what it is, so thank you for talking about it in your videos among many other things!

his meditation of just sitting still for hours is the strongest and fastest method of growth there is. My record is 1:40 min cause of rising back pain but I will do more and more cause I found that awareness is beyond pain, thus beyond pleasure, beyond the body. Being conscious is also pleasurable so this is beyond consciousness too.

I don’t think it’s fair of you to say someone has failed at being human. Most everything you say is enriching and enlightening but I think it’s narrow to say that someone has failed at being human. Humanity and the balance of the world humans exist in is not so simple as to say if you don’t achieve certain things or enlightenment even that you have failed at being human. You may have failed in a few aspects or in many different ways in life or maybe you’ve failed many people but I think it’s still wrong to say someone can fail at being human. This is what art and history are for. Can we agree leo?

Leo please please please do the video on detachment. That's definitely one thing that I am unsure about in my life. I'm not sure if I'm detached in an egocentric way or detached in the way that is the result of personal development. I used to do a lot of pickup and seemed to gain a sense of detachment from relationships/friendships but I also do personal development so its like where is this detachment coming from?? I form some sort of relationship with everyone at work then when they wanna hang out its like "no I'm focused on my growth." I don't hang out with anyone because I don't want them to hinder my growth. Fuck, I'm definitely really selfish.

The Snow Path by Ko Un (1933- )
    Now I am gazing
at the snow path that covers up what has passed.
After wandering through the whole winter,
I am gazing at this foreign territory.
    The scene of snow
falls in my heart for the first time.
The world is at the edge of meditation,
a world covered with exuberant peace
no country that I have traveled has ever seen.
I am gazing at the invisible movements of all things.
What is the sky where the snow is falling?
Listening closely, through the falling snow,
I hear the grand earth’s confession.
I can hear for the first time.
My heart is the snow path outside,
    and darkness within.
After wandering though this world of winter,
I have come now to guard the great quiet,
and, in front of the piling snow,
    my heart is darkness.

    Has anyone had this experience.
I was on the last set of my pressups the other day and the muscle pain was excruciating I do quite slow (high time under tension.. shout out to coach Wade) just wanted it to end and I suddenly had the realisation that I was trying to avoid the pain rather than becoming one with it.
Mid set (It was a 30 rep set and I was on my 5th or 6th rep) I decided to count time based on effective action (each rep) and fully experience it rather than resist the pain.
I kid you not the pain almost immediately subsided substantially and I actually enjoyed the tension building in my muscles allowing me to push past 30.
I've since been applying this to other tasks with mixed results by setting time for tasks and fully immersing myself in micro results moving towards the overall result of the task.
Ive always struggled with this concept I'm not sure but I think this is what Leo means here when he says "be" to be don't "do" to "have". In that the focus on presence brings enjoyment in and of itself even beyond the task based understanding I describe. In contemplation and relation to others as well.

more letting go of the need to control = more freedom and enjoyment of life.
Balance here with control to point you in a good direction, but with the ratio more towards letting go for happiness.
Live by intuition instead of logic and it will lead you to good places, use logic as a tool to serve intuition.
