Great Video and great Channel! I use the Mevo+ outdoors. I can confirm it works very well. I tested it today on the range with impact spray and all 13 clubs (5 shots per club). I used standard settings w/o calibration. Results: face impact location was a perfect match for Driver, very good for 3w and all irons. Only for my SW and LW I had only reads for location for 3/5 balls and location was of by half a inch. On my Hybrid lateral impact was perfect but vertical was off by 1cm on all shot. I guess thats caused by the shape of the head and could be improved by using the calibration feature. Overall I was impressed how accurate it is.
Just got Mevo+ Pro package and Face Impact package for my iPad Pro on Monday 10-8-2024. I had a lot of questions about Face Impact and your video answered all of my questions . I had to increase lighting. Face Impact is amazing. Thanks for producing this video.
That is much more accurate/useful than I expected the impact data to be! Super cool. Thank you. Would love to know if it is just as good with a driver head.
I agree, you need good lighting but it does a great job when properly setup. Based on my resting driver is really good as well, once again, with good lighting.
the problem with stickers vs spray is stickers take all the spin off it which messes with multiple data parameter's accuracy. Spray affects 3 percent where as stickers completely change the trajectory a massive amount. My 60 spins right at 10,800 average and I get 2,500 to 3.500 spin readings with stickers. Shocking that those stickers don't mess with the face impact location as well since it is camera and radar getting the info not just camera. Henry said in the X3 face impact webinar to stay away from stickers for this reason. Just seen that you later you mention the spin affecting data with stickers, but yeah. Henry said spray very very minimally affects numbers where as the stickers mess with a lot and by a big amount
I said that in the video. I only used them for demonstration purposes and all you need is one shot to calibrate. Stickers have zero affect on the impact location, the unit doesn’t even know they are there. Plus I was surprised I still got my avg spin with a 8 iron. Thanks for watching.
With PC app, it’s not working well.. PC app has a lot of errors with connect and disconnect issues. I asked FS with the recoded video, they answered it would be fixed soon
Yeah I have not messed with the PC version much, but will and I am sure they will iron it out. It usually is a good thing to get it out there to the masses and get feedback from all the various users. I will try to mess around with it more in the next few days and report anything. Thanks for watching!
Second shot was better, the center-of-gravity (COG) of the club is closer to the shaft than people think. Off center to the shaft side is much better for distance and accuracy than a completely centerline hit.
I recently purchased FS face impact and using it indoors with pretty good lighting I am unable to get face impact for the driver. It seems to work with all my irons but not my driver
Thanks Jay! Seems my pin spot led light may not be strong enough. Do you have link to your light? Trying to keep any light from bleeding onto the impact screen.
Pin Spots are probably the worst since no ambient light for the camera to absorb. You can still get great video quality / flicker free narrow beam LEDs that have barn doors etc. I have been sending what I used to a lot of people and it appears they’re selling out lol. Here is the link, there might be some left or more coming. amzn.to/3lMShc6
Can someone please tell me why some mevo plus units have the mevo plus logo on the face of the device while others only say flightscope? It’s really bothering me….
I have the Mevo+ logo on my device. There has been a discussion of this question in the Mevo+ user’s FB page without any real resolution. The general consensus is that people who got the earlier M+s have the logo, but I’m pretty sure that Jay also has an earlier M+ (and seems to imply that his unit doesn’t have the logo).
A 4" hitting area (setup verification shows it) is not ideal but for the cost it's hard to beat. Did you do any testing outside the 4" circle to see how it read your shots?
Great content as always. Flightscope should send you a check! Two Qs: 1/ does this tech mean that their algorithm can now include gear effect (for all Mevo+ users)? Seems like this opens the door. 2/ Does the low light impact things even if you don’t have pro/impact? I only ask because I had a ton of problems with my Mevo+ disconnecting from E6 and FS Skills. It happened around 5pm (I play into net in backyard) as light got lower. Not sure if it was fusion or simply app related. I sent a note to Flightscope support but never heard back. I noticed a lot of firmware updates recently, so maybe they fixed?
I asked Alex that specifically, and he said they use all data collected. I am sure they do not want to give away too much but I would assume at this stage they are using impact as part of the spin axis calculation/measurement like Trackman does. Low light yes will impact it since fusion tracking uses the camera. You should have decent lighting for the best results indoors. Thank for watching!
Is it possible to connect Mevo+ to more than one software/physical device at a time? E.g. GSPro on one monitor and FS Golf PC or iOS app on a second monitor/iPad/iPhone. Would love to be able to play GSPro while getting the pro package and face impact location data at my commercial facility.
I explained it all in the video? 300 lumens in the hitting area minimum but I have little over 1000 here. The test shows you if it’s ok or not as I showed and talked about.
Hi Jay, Great Video, I have purchased the impact but have not heard anything , do you know if the codes are being release so much a day or maybe just too many to process at a time. Not sure if you heard anything. Thanks
I believe they are getting that using radar, but it could be a combo of camera data. They do not release a lot of those specific details, which is understandable. I can try asking them to see what they are willing to disclosure. Thanks for watching!
Does the Mevo+ require a sticker on your club for the club path numbers offered in the pro package to be picked up? Also, does it require a sticker on the club for the face impact package if you have that as well?
Thanks for the great video. Out of curiosity did you measure how much light you have at the ball? I've been having issues with the face impact and FS customer service is aware but can't fix it yet. I measured my light level at the ball at well over 600 lumens. FS says we need 300 minimum but wonder if they are having an issue with that.
I've got the same experience as you Keith ... I have almost 500 lumens at the ball and face impact is not working and says to check my lighting conditions ... I spoke with customer service twice and each time they walked through with me how i had it set up and confirmed my ipad and mevo plus software was current ... and in the end they said I'm just going to have to wait for the next firmware update and that they are aware of the problem some people are having ... hope they get this figured out soon as it'll be a great addition ... but now working at all for me now ...
Have you heard any talk of dynamic lie data being added to the mix, Jay? I'd find that data more useful and, unlike face impact, it is something you can't easily obtain with alternate methods.
Hi Jay - I used stickers that had a bit of red printing on them and it transferred to my screen. It would not come out - so those went into the garbage. I now only use powder. I use the foot spray because that’s the only form I can find. They used to make baby powder in spray form but since there are now lawsuits against baby powder manufacturers, it appears that they don’t make it any longer. If you have a source I’d love to know where you are getting it.
Yeah these left no marks. Since you only need one shot I think you could use good stickers like these or foot spray. I liked these better for the demonstration video. Thanks watching!
Mine are built in so you can’t buy them. But they are just mini halogens. I recommend this light of amazing. Same good glow, they have barn doors and flicker free etc. amzn.to/3xxxEU8
What are you using for lighting? The face impact feature seems to only work 10% of the time for me, this is really frustrating. I tried using a couple 50W PAR20 light bulbs but that didn't seem to help. Really interested to hear what bulbs/fixtures your using overhead.
Lighting is key and needs to be flicker free as well. I use these and they are great. I have about 1000 lumens at the hitting area. Having some ambient light helps too so no pin spots etc. amzn.to/3I4cj9C

How do you find the accuracy of the Mevo Plus? Unfortunately, although they claim 30 day returns on the web page, if you buy the plus with the pro package and face impact, you can't return the $1500 worth of software. Shockingly anti-consumer actually.
I am not sure what you are asking. You just can simply adjust the width and height like I showed in FS Golf, no need to "import" anything. But I did not even bother, the simple method of calibrating after hitting a shot works great, but in my case did not even need calibrating! Thanks for watching
@@GolfSimulatorVideos I think he is asking if you can specify this with your club data.
