I was looking for an outdoor camera to keep an eye on my dogs in the yard when I'm not home. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe Tried a different one that was absolutely terrible, so I got these instead. They work perfectly! With 3 of these cameras I can see every corner of the yard, and they were very easy to set up. The best part is I only get the footage I want to see, not hours of videos of the bird feeder swaying in the breeze.
Are you not cheaper buying a one off price base station for recordings, rather than lifetime subscriptions in the clouds? you have to be in the clouds to pay those prices...😆
Terrible support if you ever need help from Arlo......and all they do is push you to subscribe. If you are not subscribed you are not entitled to chat support
Arlo's customer service is aweful never buy this product.. I have never found something worse in my 30 years of buying technology products. Even after paying 1500 for equipment and 20/month for their subscription, they did a software update that took down my 4 cameras, have recovered 2 and have spent 7 weeks trying to speak to someone. You can only communicate through leaving a message on a web type form page, they keep saying the same robotic things. They don't read the problem and it goes on and on and on. There is no phone number since the service is in India. You can't speak to anyone. They say they will phone you and don't. It is aweful. We are now going to take them to small claims court to get our money back. The product BTW, we had the first generation that they shut down to start their subscription product so then rebought all second gen, has to be reset a min 2x a year for something going wrong. This was before our 2 dead cameras.
I recently purchased the Essential bundle from Best Buy and I like it for the most part and the app is simple enough to use, but my nits are: 1. Six month battery life is not as-advertised. I have to charge my most active camera once a week and the others every other week; 2. The cameras don't start recording until people/animals/motion are at the halfway point through the screen and about to leave line of sight. Perhaps there's a setting to update that? 3. Allowing family members access is NOT a user-friendly process. Instead of simply granting review-only access, there are constant, annoying pop-ups that try to get you to subscribe. 4. The Smart Hub is sold out EVERYWHERE and never seems to be in stock at any retailer.
Hi. I need this more as a deterrent motion sensor and a light. Since I don't need to save the video I don't plan on purchasing the monthly service. What is your opinion of this? This is my first camera.
To be honest, the motion sensor has a delay, and the notification to your device also has a delay. So if you don't have a recording, you might miss what was infront of the camera.
Buyer beware on this camera. Why? Because during the trial period everything worked great. But after the trial. Everything went downhill. What I mean by that is it constantly buffers it does not find a signal to connect to the Wi-Fi night vision is no longer black and white it is total darkness the lag time is crazy bad. You can walk by it and it doesn't show on your phone for 5 minutes later. This is a scam camera do not purchase this
Several videos show that this camera can be set up through a smart hub, but my camera automatically tries to connect to my Wi-Fi. Do I need a specific smart hub for this camera and is there a reason why it doesn't give me the option to connect to the base station? I'm using the smart hub that came with the original Arlo (1st generation) cameras.
I have purchased an Arlo Pro2 and everything started out great, yet a year later and now all cameras are pixilated and their customer service which is absolutely horrible just can't seem to find the issue. This problem is company and camera wide. When the company decided to compress video files, they altered the video quality being stored. Storing crap video is useless to every home "security" camera. I will never purchase from this company again.
Can the arlo subscription notify both my wifes phone and my phone for same incident? ie., One paid subscription but 2 different phones need to be alerted
The alerts are from the camera, so who the subscription is from is irrelevant. If you have subscribed for your camera, anyone within ur family’s network app will get a notification. Just like how you pay for the electrical bill but everyone in the house gets to use it :)
Hello We just received our Arlo Essential Spotlight camera. But the battery dies and need to charge all the time. What is a good setting for Living room? And for outside of the house? We only have 2 cameras for now, which plan would be advisable? Thank you
If it's like mine, you're picking up all kind of motion like trees, birds, perhaps cars. You can go into settings to customize your preferences for what you want to see.
Nice video I don’t see how you can remove the battery so I can run the camera on a camera plug. Do you have to remove the battery to run the camera on a plug or just leave the battery in.
@@ShawnKoh Hmmmm. I saw their manual showing the housing removed bit they don't give much detail on how they did it. That's why I'm here. I would ALSO want to see how the battery is switched out. Taking the camera inside to charge means it's not outside doing what you paid it to do.
Hey I am literally about to spend $1200 dollars on mine with this company. Can you tell me how yours is. Was it worth the money? Is it still working well?
@@caseyhinebaugh6987 they have been great for indoor living. For outdoors I would recommend a solar panel for them that way you don't have to bring them down to recharge them. The solar panels are sold on Amazon. I also recommend to subscribe to their service.
i have a newer one and it lists like 20 or so Motion Alerts! like a bunch of off the wall stuff. which ones are the most important to have enabled, besides people and vehicles?
You are the 10th person I have reached out to on RUclips about these cameras. I have added them to my network but the app on my phone and on my laptop will not add my cameras. I have all three cameras added to my home networks but when I go to sync them via the QR code, they will not connect. What am I missing? These should install so easily but they do not.
Firstly, so what if I'm the 10th person you've asked, stop being entitled and expecting everyone to serve you. Secondly, why are you asking youtubers about the product when they do not work for the brand? Go straight to the brand and ask them about the technical help.
@@ShawnKoh dannnnggg Shawn😳😂Why did you give it to him like that. I don’t think he meant any harm at all. He is just frustrated obviously. And I also came here to see what everyone was saying about the camera’s. The way people say it’s hard to get help through the company I’m pretty sure he already reached out so was just trying to get other peoples input. I’m scared to ask you my question now😂😂😂😂

I didn't realize there was a $10 a month charge. I didn't read that anywhere.
Don’t buy the Arlo camera it’s going to cost you over $10 to $15 dollars per camera per month it’s ridiculous I wouldn’t recommend it
Yes that is a definite point to consider, but i believe most cameras need a subscription.
No it doesn’t it’s 9.99 for up to 5 cameras

Your full of shit, been using since 2017 still using with no issues, you have shitty wi-fi
1080p not good? Yeah right 1080p is awesome that's how I record on my gopro and video is good
It depends on the sensor quality. 1080p on a phone and 1080p on a camera is different. So a 1080p on a security camera might also be different.
is subcription mandatory after free trial for this camera? thanks
Looks like you'll have to pay $10 month per camera. Bummer
If I get a base fir my Rlos do I need a subscription

I have had Arlo 2 since it first came out, still using it, not one problem, just got a defective camera it happens, great product

I like that these are wireless but how far out can the camera record? Day and/or night?
The camera records based on motion activation, you will need a subscription to keep the recordings stored in their cloud server.
What a great informative video.. thank you
Glad it was helpful!

You cannot remove the battery, however you can connect a powered usb to it to keep it running without having to charge.
