I actually really like them up there. They fill that winshcreen space perfectly and are probably easier to see, when riding. I remember how I always had to look down a little further than I wanted to on my Lowrider. Was just thinking about adding a tack up there on my Road King, so it was nice to see this video. Ride safe brotha!
agreed, they don't stand out too much with the windshield. Harley Dave installed a tachometer his Road King. For some reason RUclips flagged your comments for review, just read them just now. Sorry for the late response. I'm working on a new vlog helmet with the GoPro 8
@@YoursInYeshua the 8 has a better "stability" mode. That's it, same everything else. Same 2k or 4k resolution , just better stability. But vlog is all good, our neck is the stability lol. The hero5 gets good footage. Dunno about RUclips acting up with comments.
Plexy glass awsome, I was thinking damn that is smooth as glass, nice job with everything, looks awesomeI like the way the gauges sit perfect behind the faring
Yes they sit right behind the windshield perfectly. With the vinyl tint on the windshield, you don't notice them much from the front. I've actually caught myself looking down on the tank dash for my speedometer from time to time. They blend in nicely 😍.
wow my man that is really a nice job. exactly what i want to do to my lo rider s 2020. will take your video to my dealer and show it to them to see if they can perform the task. thanks
Looks good man. It'd be nice if you could get rid of the cluster case on top of the tank or turn it into something useful like storage or as a phone holder.
Yes I was looking at whole lot of options, all of which cost around $100+. No functionality with them options, just block off or pucks. I'm sure someone with a 3d printer can make something great.
Great video! I’m looking to move my gauges as well. Looking at the harness what length did you go with. The web sit says 22” 25” & 28”. Thanks for the help.
looks good my dude. Personally would have tried to do something that wasn't so "pertruding" where there tank dash was. That's what I'm looking for now to see if I can do something about that massive boyo on top of the tank.
There's a few different options, I've seen some cool international designs. We're talking about $300 bucks for those options. I kinda like massive boyo.
I just received a guerrilla cables harness, two plugs on one side n small connection on other side of cable, question is when two plugs go into gauges, which is for speedo and tachometer? There is no instruction with the harness package.
My only concern is putting that bracket underneath the handlebar pinch plates raises that pinch plate up just a hair so you're not getting full tension on your handlebars to hold them in place.
I had that same concern, the bracket itself was loose after installing it. Then I added a few layers of paint, now it's super snug. I actually found the kraus bracket during the uploading process.
@@paulson9616 i don't have internal feed with kraus kickback risers. I haven't noticed the cables, honestly forgot about them. you don't see them in between the gauges and fairing.
Instead of putting block plate on you could've made two cup holders lol. (I'm also planning on doing KNS Customs gauges on my bike.) It even looked like you could have left that center tank piece off altogether?
Someone in the Facebook group made an alloy bracket for the gauges. They fit in the stock FXLRS wind screen. There's a metal bracket welded to the tank under the dashboard. There's plenty of alternatives, I'm ok with dashboard. I use it for my notes haha.
@@InfamousCreep notes wow how professional. I was thinking about getting a full face and camera (currently use buckets) and making some ride videos. I'll have to remember to bring notes!
did you have to pull the cables through the frame? or just out from under the tank and plug in the extension cables and done? do you have a parts list ?Thanks !
You could run em as is on top of the frame by the tank. Gorilla cables provides a block off cap for the frame by the tank. I pulled them through the frame, super easy.
Very Nice vidéo man and I really like the idea of the Custom Bracket ! It's discret and clean Can you tell me more about what material you used ? Thickness dimension etc.. I will do the same ! Cheers from France ! 🙂🍻
Sure thing, it's a piece of 16-gauge galvanized scrap metal. You could also buy the bracket from Kraus. Speed-Kings www.speed-kingscycle.com/products/kraus-stocker-gauge-bracket?_pos=5&_sid=f69852178&_ss=r

It did after my handlebar install, just ride it for 60 miles. You can also remove the fuse and ride it for 60 miles. If the engine light doesn’t turn back on by then, your good 👍.

Congrats on the new bike, it's a really nice bike. You got it in Black or Silver? You're at the right channel for DIY FXLRS mods.

Glad I could help, I sure they can figure it out.
You could paint the trim black to help hide the visible damage. Looks great regardless 👍
I looked into the speedometer bezels, 12 bucks at jpcycles. Or I can buy em black with Harley for $40 a piece.

Take the softail blackline dash. Looks great!
It looks awesome, nice and clean look. $400! I'll probably put some stickers on the block off plate. Stickers make it go fast. 😄

Thank you brother 🙏.

Honestly I don't remember, I have 14" overall bars. Probably 25" ? Contact gorilla cables on Instagram or email. They'll help you out.
Looks great nice day project.
If you fabricate the mounting plate, and the plexiglass block off.
Sick bike man. Have the same one! This is one mod I really wanna do. So annoying to keep looking down
Yes! lol I still catch myself looking down at my dash from time to time hahaha! I forget the gauges are right in front me.
I'd suggest painting the dash cover matte rather than glossy, blends in better with the tank.
I could paint it wrinkle black too, but I'm going to put some stickers on it. Unpainted said would be more adhesive for the decals.
Gloss will shine ur eyes
Get the 4inch black gauge trim rings to cover up the damage on your chrome rings , BTW looks good
Thank You! I honestly didn't even think about it, I just looked into it. Speedometer bezel $12.

they only fit one way, you can also see the connectors. they're slightly different from one another.

questing for you how high are the bars and what was the length Gorilla cable you ordered? Thank you
They're about 14" inches and I can't remember the length of the cable. I believe I purchased the longest option.
Awesome
You didn't have to remove a gas tank to wired( plug n play) cables?
Nope, you can easily pull cables through, no need to remove the tank.
@@InfamousCreep once I hook it up how do I shove all wires n terminal into cavity that you can't see?

I wonder if those gauge buckets will work with my road glide?
I remember seeing a kit from Kraus, one of the gauges is slightly bigger than the other.
Did you have to buy bolts for the back plate of the gauges or did you just reuse bolts that you took off from the console?
I reused the bolts from the dashboard, you only need the rear gauge gaskets from Harley.

It did after my handlebar install, just ride it for 60 miles. You can also remove the fuse and ride it for 60 miles. If the engine light doesn’t turn back on by then, your good 👍.

It's been good, just needed to add some cushion for noise.
What size is your windscreen? Also what size is your Kraus?
13" Windshield and 10" kickback kraus risers with stock bars.
Replace the tank console for one that has no gauge openings.
I've seen a few, they range $200-$400.
