All I can say is that I'm happy that I was born in the dark age of the Godzilla franchise. I quit literally grew up with Godzilla's 10th film iteration(54, Showa, Heisie, 98 99, 2000, 01, 02, 04). I really appricaite your work.
Kind words, it's always a treasure to meet another Godzilla fan. It's not always easy to put these together, but it is always rewarding to hear from you guys. I look forward to making more for all of you.
The world of kaiju is so vast and amazing and diverse Radioactive monstrosity Deities Mechs Aliens And a bunch of other things It just makes the lore of kaiju in general feel alive and a joy to discover and watch in action and I love it
Dude when you said Godzilla was your role model I felt that 110% cause same! Even to this day when faced with a big challenge I hear his theme play in my head, and I’m like oh yea it’s GO time !
A problem approaches: "Why do I hear boss music?" Same here. Godzilla is a character, an Idea, and so much more all wrapped up in one. He can be fun, he can be entertaining, he can be terrifying, he can be inspiring. A bringer of terrible vengeance upon the world, or cheers and applause from the audience. He's a lot like an RPG character, you can paste yourself over something about him, but instead of being a blank slate like those characters are intended to be, he has so many different incarnations and characterizations, that one is bound to connect with you. In much the same way as Optimus prime, a character doesn't need to look like you, or even be human to see some part of yourself in them and look up to them. In Godzilla's case, quite literally.
Godzilla is not my life. He is life! No matter what. He has been here before. And he gonna be here after. I will be there with my boi. Movie or game. Doesn’t Matter. I’ll be here. He is so versatile to the point where you can make him into anything. A giant T REX that breathes fire is the definition of PEAK versatility
Based, unfathomably so one could say. There's so much Godzilla can do. He is a character that has stood the test of time, has evolved with the world in a natural way that has redefined him time and time again, but in a way that is organic. In a way that cannot be replicated. Because it was made and written by people who love the series, love the character, and respect the character. And that respect has always filtered into the community. They can pick up on the hard work and the passion.
Godzilla Dominion shows a lot more depth behind Monsterverse Godzilla that I wish got adapted to the screen. His memory of Serizawa. His memories of Ancient Humanity and their relationship with him. He sees Mothra in the moon and feels some kind of loss or loneliness. Something that the audience could relate to if they saw it. How he is intrinsically linked to earth even down to his senses.
And even before, there is already a great deal of depth to MonsterVerse Godzilla as is. For all the issues of the Monsterverse, which is probably my favorite series of Godzilla movies, the characterization of the monsters is not one of those. It reinvented so many classics so well.
@@Godzillakingofkaiju1 I see. I'm glad I can be a voice of reason, I know there's others who do the same. It is good to know that there's other, and one day, maybe we can move back to a better future for Kaiju. Some will say the dark ages of Godzilla was 2004 to 2014, sadly, I think the dark ages of Godzilla have only just begun.
Yes, very much agree. Not all movies need a super deep plot and story, sometimes you do just want to see stuff fight. Some movies use the story to frame the battle, and others have the big battles be the main point, and the stories just a thrown together connective tissue
It is sad that people have been conditioned to not be able to have fun with movies. That just fun can and should be in movies, something we talked about last week here. There is a place for both, and people need to respect that.
I often thought that the kong scratching his ass while waking up in godzilla vs Kong was a call back to the as scratch from the original movie when kong was back tracking around the hill
It’s all about me and you were born . When I was a kid in high technology was not as ubiquitous. Watching network and will contamination what is your only source of Godzilla movies. And by sheer luck you were able to catch one on tv. Every aspect of the movie was your gold and enjoyment. I didn’t complain about the lack of monster action. I didn’t complain that it took 30 minutes into the movie before he appeared. The anticipation was tangible. The fervor was tangible. Unfortunately for me. I happend to see a bunch of the 60s and 70s movies were godzilla was a hero. So on one Drury night I caught the original Godzilla. Well sort of as it was the American dub King of the monsters. And though somber through most of the movie. I was not expecting the death at the end of the movie. The movie already felt helpless as it is and that death at the end really got me. And that was the first time I cried watching a movie. I under stand the meaning of the destroya heralding the death of Godzilla. But remember. This is coming off after the reviewed death of Captain Marvel from marvel comics which started what I called the deaths head of comics and media. Killing off the major character was all the rage. Marvel comics was killing of characters left and right. Gwen Stacy Norman Osborn Phoenix etc. it was so popular that the Pathos was strained to its limit. That was already a normal thing in the popular action oriented anime series. So the killing off of characters was kind of a tired sub genre to bolster readership and viewership.

This video deserves WAY more views
You're too kind.
We gotta get the video out more!

Raised on truly based content.

As someone who also crys every time I rewatch GvD (1995) I very much relate too.
Also literally the reason I uses a Groudon as my PFP is because of how it is the Godzilla of Pokémon too me.
Based.
You'd like one of my pokemon draft leagues, made a whole Godzilla themed team, and making a secondary one with Tyranitar on both.
29:01 I would describe Orga as a giant reptilian sloth alien.
.
Awesome vid, love the passion 💪🏻
Yeah, describing Orga's a weird thing in few words.
Thank you!
You are a breath of fresh air from Blackarooni.
Not too familiar with who that is. However, thank you for that.
@@MaxisAllosaurus He's a guy who keeps making bad takes on Godzilla and the MonsterVerse. Think Doktor Skipper, but he just doesn't get the message.

Right....right in the feels....
So good, just....we need more.
Extremely good video every video you make gets better and better
Glad you think so!
The movie wasn't great storywise, but I'm just so happy to be alive at a time where Hollywood atnleast tried to make a Godzilla/Kingkong film.
Yes, very much agree.

They hating on gxk after just seeing godzilla -1 killing people like bruh now they want every godzilla movie to be like that
People often forgot where Godzilla came from, and where he went. Especially in the west.
It is sad that people have been conditioned to not be able to have fun with movies. That just fun can and should be in movies, something we talked about last week here.

🚨Strawman fallacy detected! Strawman fallacy detected!🚨
Well it was a better movie overall. No hate towards GxK but it felt like a filler episode and kind of a waste.
Please explain
I often thought that the kong scratching his ass while waking up in godzilla vs Kong was a call back to the as scratch from the original movie when kong was back tracking around the hill

Interesting.
So many different experiences based on our histories with the movies and media as a whole
