    Good Video.
I have been food optimising following Slimming World for 4 years now & I enjoy this journey.
My start weight was 16 stone 9lb & I was a size 26 in 2018 & I reached my target of 10 stone 2019 currently a size 12 & since then I am maintaining my weight (losing extra pounds now & then) but I following SW from home which works well for me.
I tried CC but it wasn't ideal in my lifestyle, I tried WW lost 3 stone but the points system has changed a lot when I was going to rejoin.
Everyone is different & not all weight loss journeys work for everyone, we all have to choose the path that works best for us.
I liked the Plank of wood example.
    Take care n stay safe

Best video I've watched in a long time. Been on Nutracheck for fifteen months and have only lost seven pounds whereas as an ex Weight Watcher I really miss WW. I'm fed up with weighing and yes you're absolutely right I'm also fed up with foucusing on numbers. Thanks so much......think I'm going to ditch Nutracheck and return to WW as I was much happier on that plan.

Glad you found it helpful. I wouldn't say WW is any better as it has its own problems, but you definitely wanna be careful with how much stress thinking about food gives you.

I totally agree with this, even though I am currently doing slimmimg world and losing weight I don't count all the syns and strictly stick to everything, I use it as; a general breakdown of my overall goal, support of the group and just to keep myself accountable. So far its working. I have done calorie counting in the past and that's when I realised everything yr saying, so with slimming world I have a more relaxed approach and like you said I use my eyes and knowledge.

I've done both plans, CC & SW and I must admit that I've lost more weight on SW than I ever have doing CC. I eat healthier on SW and feel better, but CC is great for convenience. I've just switched back to SW, but I have learnt portion control with CC. Each to their own, stay safe everyone xx

Very interesting. A different RUclipsr says he is now counting calories. I think SW does have a lot of merits.

Yeah. The world is not black and white. Everything has a positive otherwise it wouldn't exist. Calorie counting is what a lot of fitness professionals suggest but they don't realise the problems it causes.

@@emotionaleatingcoach You know Harry, I believe a lot of us need to ‘shake off’ 2022. New beginning and a new focus. Weight loss requires dedication and less weigh ins. More to following this Program correctly as a lifestyle. It’s 7 am here in Florida, it is 12 noon over in the UK. My personal opinion is it will take me a solid year to Target. I had lost 5 stones last year, up a stone which will come off quickly but then, I have 4 stones to get rid of. As an American online subscriber with SW, my dream is a Holiday somewhere in England, stepping into a SW Group meeting and also meeting RUclips friends. I am inspired by you, Tracy Mouse, Debbie from Debbie’s World. I have my handbook, Tracy sent me a template of how she keeps track and has a booklet that she writes in every day. These are all Target members. I think we all learn what works best for us through trial and error. I’m giving this my best attempt yet. It is grocery shopping day. My biggest problem is I’m a hearty eater. I need to learn to fill up on more salad and veg and be more persistent. I’m weigh in in today. My mini goal is to weigh in once a month. The fluctuating scale plays with my brain I’m afraid.
Today is a new attempt. My Birthday is January 22nd. I turn 64 years old. Years and years of trying. This time I will be very stubborn and not fall off.

@@emotionaleatingcoach First off, I could fool you. I look much younger so it isn’t esthetics. To me, being at a lower weight is all health related. I’m a Type2 Diabetic that has been off meds for a year and a month. I want to keep my weight down which will further enhance my health.

I think counting calories does work, but I also agree with the negative psychological effects. The control thing is true, but if the person has no control (ie me, I’d eat and eat and eat if I could) *something* has to have control, and for me, that’s counting calories. I try to aim for range in calories, deficit - TDEE, I.e 1900 - 2300 for me, so I have that kinda flexi not all or nothing thing. It’s a constant battle tbh ha

It depends what you mean by "work" cos most things work in the short term but long term it causes too many issues.

    • @keithk2879
      @keithk2879 2 года назад +1

@@emotionaleatingcoach I agree, but I think the fact is calorie counting does work if "work" here means "lose/maintain weight". Why is fails long term is because of psychology/mindset - we tend to abuse calorie counting and that's what makes it fail. I read Intuitive Eating and done the workbook cover-to-cover but the (my) reality is food is so palatable/nice that I have to have some sort of control, lol And at the end of the day, is that a bad thing? It's so complex. Love your channel by the way, relate a lot !

      @@keithk2879 thanks, I appreciate it!
And in regard to the comment, any other diet could be classed as "working" for someone, but it's the mindset and issues that these diets create that stops them working in the end.
