I like the origin for Swamp Thing where he's not a man who became the thing, but rather when the guy dies, the plant life around him forms into a humanoid who THINKS it's a man. Way more interesting IMO

I would've liked to have seen a deadman show. It could be a murder mystery, except with the victim, but he can't remember how he died, so he goes searching, meanwhile spirits are chasing him. You could even have a cameo from ragman, as he's also tied with spirits.

It’s a shame because Vol. 1 of Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing is one of the best comics ever. But even in the comics it’s hard to find a good interpretation of the character. Even Alan Moore’s vol 2 and 3 are not on the same level as vol 1

06:36 Slight correction BUT the same actor plays Swamp Thing in this movie, the sequel AND the 90s TV show. His name, was Dick Durock.

I wish they would get balls and do Alan Moores true Swamp thing feature film. Go rated R like deadpool. The thing they need to realize is swamp thing like batman needs a good script then add the true character. Batman should be a detective movie with batman. Swamp thing should be a horror thriller that happens to have badass swamp thing

Swamp Thing 1982 was mostly made to finance Batman 1989. The man on fire is the stunt man who plays Swampy in the suit. That stunt nearly killed him due to being badly planned but he got a bonus out of it. The sequel is based on the Moore run and features the famous sex scenes, in PG-13 that is. It´s crazy bad!

This is one of the best examples of how nostalgia effects what you like. I love the 80's Swamp Thing movie because I was a kid when I first saw it and it was amazing! Hearing you guys talk about how bad it is was so surprising to me. But I have a little brother who loved Power Rangers and when I tried to watch that I thought it was complete shit. I know there are tons of people who grew up watching Power Rangers and loved it but my generation thinks it's complete garbage. Just shows you that no matter what generation you are, whatever you like as a kid probably sucks.

Cat People is from the 40s, and plus it's terrific (and not really a monster movie either). Creature from the Black Lagoon is also good. Let's not insult them by grouping them with Swamp Thing.

Swamp Thing was cancelled due to miscommunications in the contracts signed with WB. Basically a company told DC they’d pay for half the show then they realized after the first episode aired that the company wasn’t paying for half and was paying for less than a quarter. The company then said that’s what they agreed upon from the beginning, thus screwing the last episodes of swamp thing 2019s budget and they were forced to cancel the show

That shot from approximately the 3:00 mark could easily be slipped into The Thing (1982 not 2011 obvs) and it would not look out of place. Having completely forgotten this show existed and only being 3 minutes into the video I am declaring I must watch this show. Why is this show not still running? I want to see swamps demolishing every human in sight at every opportunity.
