"I know," I thought. "I'll sit down and play Rescue on Fractalus. Properly, without stopping until the game actually ENDS." This, dear reader, was one of the more questionable decisions I have ever made.
Rescue on Fractalus is a spectacular 3D sci-fi flight action game from Lucasfilm, and often regarded as one of the best games on Atari 8-bit. As I found out when I decided to keep going until a full-on Game Over, though, you'd better set aside a good portion of your day if you want to play it properly!

I remember the first time I played this (as "Behind Jaggi Lines"). For some reason, it was a session I started late at night. I was transfixed ... playing in the dark, face close enough to the screen that nothing else was in my field of vision ... multiple levels completed ... a nice groove going ... and then when the first alien popped up I literally went straight over the back of my chair. One of my absolute favorite moments in gaming.

Do you have Kennedy approach game? One of my favourite on ATARI 800XL It has a new remake on the Steam now for modern PC. 😀
