But even then the prequels had other great characters like Qui Gon, Darth Maul, Palpitine, Yoda and Mace. The sequels cannot stack up other than Kylo as all the legacy characters are disgraced
I actually have a renewed love for the prequals, anakin was spot in in lucasas mind and if you don't like that charecter that's your preverance, now the statement would be taken as defensive or arssey. But this media shit streak trilogy, actually shows you what no respect for plot dynamics and basic story telling mechanics gives you. I'm not even pissed of with the return of palpatine, I'm pissed of with the lack of snoke answering to a shady hologram figure, its a multi million pound, school media project. We are talking about this movies already cheap plot dynamics, bei g undermined by absolutky 0 story telling continuity, and we are talking 3 films here people. It's a direct example of the fact we don't have artist anymore we have tracers, becuae this film is a poorly traced outline of both the prequel and original trilogies plot dynamics. It's fucking disaterous and any subject matter or franchise would of ended up exactly the same under the supervision of these hacks.
@Jakob Muraschkovski YES!!!! The whole time during the finale I was desperately awaiting the chorus to kick in and for this amazingly awesome song to start. But it didn’t 😕
The Mandalorian is 5 hours long, the Disney trilogy is 7 hours. And still the Mandalorian has much more interesting characters and so many more meaningful moments.
Kazum9 they might not all necessarily further the plot directly, however they do make connections that matter for later on in the show, just as Dune being introduced in ep4, introducing a mystery character that will be important later in episode 5, and most probably introducing a returning squad of characters in a later season, all while helping to build the universe around the show.
Shelby A endgame had way more plot holes in it since it was a time travel movie we’re you haters as negative toward endgame as you are toward this movie? It’s takes a lot of energy to hate something
@@Mr.Sozzled Palpatine deserves better. So Palpatine orchestrated the creation of not only the clone army but storm troopers and the first order as well as a giant armada sitting at the bottom of the ocean? How? Is his secret Sith power the ability to create armies out of nothing? I'm surprised she didn't just walk across the water...
Ive heard of leaks claiming Hayden filmed scenes but they were ultimately cut because they didnt fit with Kathleen Kennedys political agenda. Which kinda sucks.
I know right!!!!??? I just can't understand the logic behind NOT having Anakin in there...esp with all the fan-service they gave. It doesn't make sense to me...
@@tommyanomaly6193 Such as? I certainly hope you're not honestly reffering to the pt. The pt is waaaaay better then the st. It actully added shit to sw to the point without the pt star wars wouldn't be sw. The pt added the most lore to the universe of sw and without it we wouldn't have all these amazing shows based off it and games such as kotor and so forth. The sequels legit added nothing to sw but plot holes and shallow characters. In a decade the sequels won't be remembered. Meanwhile the pt will be admired for having one of the best choreographed fight scenes in all of cinema.
I just saw the movie. My biggest complaint was that they go from planet to planet so quickly. You don't get introduced to aliens and the cool planets. It use to be there was some sense of time and you don't go from planet to planet instantly.
The prequels at least developed the sw universe into what we recognize today as the sw universe. I like the prequels for the world building, and, of course, Palpatine's arc. Edit: I very much agree that this movie is an absolute mess. Besides, Palpatine looks like the seer in Vikings. Such lack of imagination...
Rodrigo Abecasis The prequels are 100 times worse than the new trilogy. They are devoid of any life and it’s just an absolute slog to watch. Oh yes! Palpatines amazing ark of getting someone to sign a paper!!! The prequels has similar world building to the newer movies! These movies actually have an extremely impactful villain!! It had a very consistent and interesting protagonist!! It had tons of fun action scenes!! It DIDNT MESS UP YODA’S CHARACTER BY GIVING HIM A FREAKING LIGHTSABER!!!
@@Rippen_Crippen ". Oh yes! Palpatines amazing ark of getting someone to sign a paper!!! " Hey its not the movies fault that you can't understand the bigger picture of engineering a conflict involving a hostile takeover of his own home planet on a semi legal way using a contract to exploit a legal loophole to then gain pity point in the senate to gain more power as part of his bigger plan to reform the Republic into his personal empire. With the actual interesting thing being seeing how he does this and how he turns potential problems (Padme making it to Corrosant) into assets (by than manipulating her). How can you even dare to compare the world building of the sequels to the Prequels. The Sequels hardly explain anything and expect us to believe that no only is the First order so powerful despite being born out of the remains of a falling empire but also that destroying just Hosnien prime is enough to completely take over the galaxy despite losing there planet killer given that there is hardly any time between episodes 7 and 8. So really what world building is there? The prequels meanwhile explain not only the bureaucracy of the Republic but also explain how the enemies have power with the first one being a rather minor threat that has to use underhanded tactics to get there way because its nothing compared to the Republic it self while in episodes 2 we saw that many semi powerful organizations that had enough of the Republics policies band together under A fallen Jedi knight (another concept there is here a bit more explored as in some people actually became disillusioned with the Jedi believes) to form the Confederacy of Independence system, We get also to know more about the inner workings of the Jedi as well as see that even Jedi intern there are conflicts . We get to see the politics of Nabbo and learn more about the workings of the Hutts and how there operate there planets like Tattoin. We even get know exactly how both sides of the war get there seaming-less endless amount solders (ones with Cloning the others by mess producing them in factories) What does you mean with "an extremely impactful villain!!"? Do you mean Snock who come into power just because and who's actual force powers open dozens of unanswered questions who you can create a being as powerful in the force like him in a test tube (seriously and people say Medicloriens demystification the force at least with the Prequels couldn't you just clone someone to be all powerful with the force.) Or do you mean Palpatin who with his message about his survival to the galaxy shows just how he lost any reaming amount of mind he had during the PT and OT. Or do you mean Kylo who at the end of the day ended up as nothing but a puppet to Snock and than Palpatin (because really what did he accomplish between him killing snock and becoming Palpatines pawn) until he died to save Rey and who just believes into the memory of Han when not to long ago Palpatin just revealed to him that he was every voice in his head, Even if I would agree that there messed up Yoda would I still easily be able to point out that there did worse to Han (who regressed back to his A New Hope persona just in worse at it) and especially Luke who got character-assassinated. And this beside the fact that giving Yoda a light saber isn't breaking his character not only did Both Obi-Wan and the Emperor refer to a Light Saber as a jedi's weapon a Yoda is a jedi as Obi-Wan directly tells Luke the first time he mentioned him but also does Yoda with a light saber happen during and before the Clone Wars and Order 66 as well as his lost against Palpatin all massively live changing events for Yoda especially given that for the first 800 years of his live he was under the assumption that the Sith had been extincted only for them to return and take over while he was the grand master of the Jedi Order. Not to mention that people tend to forget about OT Yoda that while he told Luke that a Jedi only uses the power for knowledge and defense never for attack so did he also wanted Luke to kill Vader and the Emperor.
@@rynobehnke8289 Don't forget about the rule of two. In the prequels we actually learn something about the Sith. Also, will people accept Ben after all the trouble he caused them? Will he run away and become a hermit on Tatooine, or will he try to set things right by reviving the Jedi? Why did he even disappear when he died? Does Ben know how to become a Force Ghost? How does he know how to do that? Alot of things don't make sense. For this movie to work, we already need to get rid of Palpatine and that's what the whole movie is about... :/
Josh I watched TLJ three times. 1) I was waiting to see it with a friend of mine, but saw reddit leaks and videos and thought “surely this can’t be what happens”. So I watched it by myself, once with my friend, and another time with my family-so I could like the film. Cause I really didn’t like it at all, and I tried so hard to want to like it. Sad times
Think about why this final film is so convoluted. All due to one horrible movie called, The Last Jedi. None of this makes sense, Snoke was a new character in The Force Awakens and it's evident that all the build-up to The Last Jedi could and should have gone in a totally different direction, but nope, Rian Johnson created a DUMPSTER fire and that is why this film The Rise of Skywalker ended up being a mess. JJ Had nothing to work with.
Jerry Ziegner that’s what I was thinking. Rian Johnson left shit so JJ had to stitch together a shattered story with no direction to take. Another issue is Ms. Kennedy thought having multiple directors for a trilogy is a good idea 🙄 oh yeah thanks 3 men possibly women with different ideas and creative talents that will probably never talk to each other will shamble together a great amazing cash grab 🤣 well played nerd
YOU idiot, jj started this mess with The force awakens, the last jedi literally left the door open for anything and jj messed it up again, Last Jedi really made a point, bad guys win, people wont always come to your help, heroes are not who you expect them to be, this is not going to go the way you expect, all of those brilliant points that make starwars way more like our world were why the last jedi got the score that it did. Critics want that, not all the fans do, because this fandom is 40 years old and made of sore losers. Real fans also want that. But most people just love luke soooo much, never seen why, he never was anything interesting to me, not like anakin, not like kylo.
@@rohansampat1995 Agreed. JJ is the real sucker for trying to get everyone on a nostalgia trip, not having the balls to innovate Star Wars. Of course, Disney wanted to create another Skywalker trilogy so they took a safe route. However, I found that TFA and TLJ worked together really well to create something that was new but still familiar, it was an ideal set-up to create a grand finale. But no, Disney bailed under the pressure, they tried to play it safe, they put all this pressure on a director that can't innovate and it absolutely flunked! They should've sticked to their guns to let the final part be directed by either Rian Johnson or Colin Trevorrow.
Both JJ and Rian Failed hard. JJ set up a lame opening to start with. Sure the new characters had a lot of early likability and potential but he failed to write them well. The setting was wrong...the first half of TFA should have been establishing what happened over thirty years with it starting on a high note, Luke Leila and Han successful and happy together in high places in a prosperous New Republic, give it time and then introduce the new threat halfway before shit goes bad as we introduce our new heros and villains. Fk'n easy writing 101 and he made a lame reboot. Then Rian decides to subvert our expectations by literally shitting into the cake batter with hugely idiotic choices for Star Wars. It's like he was making a movie for a different franchise. JJ then fucked up again when tasked to fix the mess. All he had to do was have Kylo finding and training the knights of Wren to help up his powers to fight Rey. He could have gotten all nostalgic and had Anakin (Hayden C.) to appear to Kylo and help redeem him. Simple but JJ always resorts to just trying to confuse the audience with visual overload and yo-yo jerking emotional scenes right after plot holes to distract the brain from how poor the writing truly is. The REAL fuckface is Kathleen Kennedy who had no idea how to manage the Star Wars franchise and the production of it's movies.
Kylos good but anakin is a whiny bitch. I cringe every time I hear Haden say "from my point of view the Jedi are evil" I liked the film. I give it a 7.5 out of 10. I liked every scene with kylo, and Rey. Wasnt a big fan of the side stories of fin and that other guy. Didnt feel any chemistry between those two. I liked palpatine using his force lightning to bring down the fleet that was cool. It kind of felt like I was watching a video game story line at some points.
I accept a lot of the flaws in this film, but the force healing thing really gets to me. If baby Yoda can do it without any training, why can we accept that, but can't accept Rey doing the same thing after being trained by Leia? Also, do all Jedi and Sith have to have the same force powers? I thought Vader and Palpatine always made it pretty clear that force users tap into different powers. Or maybe I'm just stupid idk.
I'm just gonna remember these films for what I liked about them. This movie is very...well bad. But I'll remember it for the emotional scenes with Ben Solo, the cool fights between Rey and Kylo, and of course Babu Frik. I'm much happier just accepting it for what it is and having my own head canon. 1-6 is canon and 7-9 is fun fan fiction.
Yeah he is making assumptions that there was an overall logical plot, which there clearly isn't. He just needs to accept it as a lighthearted action movie.
@@sikid4000 Yeah that is what I said. Which is why the questions he is asking are meaningless. They clearly didn't have a plan and when they try to stitch things together it just causes more problems.
@@darthtroller what the hell?? well written!? Maybe a few but most of them are just flashy lights and big fights. There is no creativity or love in the movies. If Obi Wan healed Qui Gon he would've died. Also, Qui Gon got stabbed and lied there for like 10 minutes, he was probably a goner at that point. Yoda didnt need to heal Anakin and Obi Wan because there was no danger, he probably did regardless. Obi Wan did heal Luke in a New Hope though
@@mickeyjohnson5247 first of all you need to relax. Second the sand people knocked Luke out and dragged him a couple feet and he didnt wake up. Ben comes up and lightly places his hand on Luke's head and Luke wakes up feeling fine, no headache or anything. He most likely healed Luke
J.J.Abrams stole the plot from this _Star Wars_ comic which explained that Palpatine did die at the end of _Episode VI_ but his essence was transferred into a previously made clone of his body. If this was ever part of _The Rise of Skywalker_ it might have been cut when the movie was trimmed by about twenty minutes just prior to release: comicbook.com/starwars/2019/12/23/star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker-dark-empire/
Did anyone catch this? Ap’lek, the axe wielding Knight of Ren was the only knight who wasn’t cut down, he was force pushed into a pit, and as we know falling down a pit in Star Wars is merely a temporary setback.
.Disney had one job to do: take their newly purchased multi billion franchise and write a trilogy within that universe. With good writers. And planning. And characters. How do you fail? It's not like the bar was super high after the prequels. Somehow they limboed right under it.
Back in Episode III, had Anakin not intervened to save Palpatine from his lightsaber duel fight with Mace Windu, the Emperor would have been killed by the purple lighsaber-wielding Master Jedi the same way he finally was by Rey at the end of the saga, a stroke of his own lightning. Then, as it is the second time Palpatine didn't stop casting his bolt, it is probably and simply because he couldn't for some reason. He definitely couldn't while fighting Mace Windu, and was eventually going to fry to death. So I really (really) don't get why some ppl still feel the urge to complain about this. Makes them sound very smuggish imo.
I'm glad that the trilogy is over now i never need to watch this Disney trilogy again. To me the Disney Trilogy is an alternative timeline and i don't care about it. I just focus on the Star Wars i grew up on and i will only accept stories that don't contradict with the George Lucas era from 77-12.
Precisely. Even that I am not a fan of Ahsoka or TCW, since I loved "Obsession" from Dark Horse comics, Disney era destroyed everything else with a poor trilogy. It's kinda of a relief that everything is done now, I guess
Apparently they chaged the timeline to bsi before starkiller incident. Trying to force thier trilogy in our minds. Screw this triolgy. Ik it was garbage as soon as ep 7 put me into a depression.
And when I say TCW, I mean the The Clone Wars 3d show. I liked the initial clone wars era, and even more the roughness of the Grievous from 2005, specially the one despicted by the Cartoon Network animation.
Lightning is electricity. People who get shocked (with higher currents) can remain stuck to the source/conductor of electricity for some time. You’d have to remove them with a non-conductor. When your entire body turns into an electric conductor you can get stuck there, arrested, continuing to be a conductor. Also because our nerves communicated by electrical impulses. These impulses that move our muscles, that can move us away, get scrambles by the giant electrical current coursing through us, which is why it is difficult for us to rip ourselves apart from it. So according to my knowledge of workplace hazards with electricity, I sort of concluded that’s what happened with Palpy and Mace’s light sabre, and the same with Palpy and Rey. Even if he stopped producing the electricity/lightening, perhaps the way light sabres are is that they recirculate energy for some time, being what they are. It’s not a bolt do much as it was a current. Palpy was always creepy to me. I rewatched the prequels for the holidays and he always was.
Mace Windu used a technique called Vaapad, so it has nothing to do with physics. It's space magic and Rey simply knew how to be a space witch because she has spirits supporting her. It's like Harry Potter and that honestly doesn't make sense in the SW universe.
It’s really easy to forget that the sequel trilogy takes place over a very short period of time (like a month). Consequently, it’s hard to make a show from the sequels because there’s not a time frame that offers much opportunity to expand upon.
When did I ever say anything about being obsessed with “boy power?” I didn’t walk around with the “Force is for Male” T-shirts, nor have I stated male characters are superior than female characters. I just want a good story and based on what was presented, Kylo probably had the only character arc. Rey could’ve been great, but they decided to go the girl power route and effed it up. Finn also could’ve been great! A reformed storm trooper! How would that play in his arc? It won’t! He might as well been relegated to a scrapper that lived on Jaku with Rey permanently stuck in the friend zone.
I once took a second bite from a nasty steak and kidney pie as I couldn't believe the whole pie was that bad. The second bite was worse than the first. Watching this Star Wars movie twice must have felt the same way.
ITs all to serve the story. The idea behind Palpatine continuing to shook out the electricity is that you’re body/nervousness system literally goes into shock And gets kind of stuck. It’s happened in real world as we’ll.
In the expanded universe books, Palpatine had a bunch of mindless clones of himself to transfer his spirit into. The heroes had to destroy them to keep him dead.
Just saw it yesterday and I thought it was insane. Once I turned off my brain and viewed the film ironically I had a blast. For me Episode VI will always be the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga and the sequel trilogy will have been Luke’s post-Endor Fever dream. It was that ridiculous.
I'm 49 and my daughter is 17...We have both grown up with Star Wars...we were talking about how we both love Chewie but literally felt nothing when he 'died' and then felt even less than nothing ( if that's possible ) when he didn't really 'die' That's how we both felt as we left the cinema...
Hahaha lmao but no they both aren't good but I liked revenge of the sith but I can't even sit through episode 1 or 2 or even episode 8 but the prequels are way more bland and then episode 7 or 9 that's why I prefer the sequels over the prequels but that's not much of an accomplishment
No way man. Even if the sequels dont have th best story, they're still visually appealing and action packed in a good way. Episodes 1 and 2 are near unwatchable for 90% of the movie.
I saw it twice just for a video and literally barely couldn’t make it through the second viewing. I just watched Mando and reviewed Mando and got so excited because I went from bad Star Wars to a true Star Wars story! You’re totally right Adam should’ve been the main character. Good night man!
Hey guys, according to RLM theories, which I take highly, Palp that we see in this movie is the TRUE palp. The palp from the other films was a clone being controlled. Just like Snoke. The True palp is thousands of years old and is barely holding on to life with the force, and uses clone puppets to do his bidding. It kinda makes sense. It kinda doesn't. it kinda sucks that Disney took a huge steaming shit on Star Wars.
I love that channel but I think Mike is wrong with the palp we see in this film being the true palp, why would his fingers be all fucked up and his eye white if he hadn't come back to life? Plus when he drained their life force he looked more like his original self
When I discovered the original trilogy in the 7th grade, I rewatched those movies EVERY WEEKEND for more than a year. I have no desire to watch the sequel trilogy even a second time
I thought Revenge of the Sith made it abundantly clear that Palpatine created Anakin using the Force, and I didn't get that from any RUclips videos, but from just listening to the dialogue. Lucas's original draft script actually had Palpatine say, "I arranged for your conception...you could almost think of me as your father."
I almost picked up an old school Mickey Mouse Christmas card for my mom this year, then I remembered that giving money to Disney keeps supporting mediocrity
I never spent a red cent on this train wreck trilogy. I boycotted all of it the very day Lucas sold it to the dimwit merchandise mongrels....called Disney
I absolutely feel like Kylo Ren is the best character in this triology and everything would have leagues better if he was the main focus. This film was certainly flawed, it's complicated and I did need to think about how I felt. But I felt, for me, it was more on the enjoyable side. I absolutely understand why people don't care about it though. My hope is that they will have better people on movies in the future.
TFA was the worst of the bunch, it's because of that movies lack-of-setups that every other film had to either fill in the backstory -- or in the case of TLJ not. Imagine a movie with a ton of flashbacks and/or spoken exposition would have been needed to fill in all the plot holes. It was an impossible task that no screenwriter could have resolved. I think that might have been why RJ just said "fuck it". I hate all of the new films, but this one was by far the best because it was just stupid fun. I'll answer your questions as to why someone would like this movie. 1) Great character interaction 2) Sense of adventure 3) Over-the-top moments Don't get me wrong, the movie sucked, as they all did, but this one felt like a swashbuckling good time so long as you turn off the brain.
9:44 So, I came up with what I would have done with the pieces Disney had. I hope you like it: The Force Awakens: Start with C3PO and R2D2, they're with Luke and Leia in their new Jedi academy, training Rey, who's declared Luke's daughter from the start. DON'T have the First Order be huge, and don't have it be 30 years later, just 18. Better to have the First Order be the remnants of the Empire, on a few planets that preferred to have political stability and stronger control over crime sindicates. That way you can have a small Empire and a small Resistance that sympathizes with the new Republic. The Republic can help but only with money and volunteers, but can't force this section of the galaxy to submit because it has it's own problems trying not to fall to civil war over all the different factions after the Fall. Anyway, let's make Rey and Kylo cousins, but Kylo fell to the dark side, so Rey is more adamant to remain in the light, and becomes a bigot like the old jedi council. This becomes the central theme of this trilogy: Luke is trying to teach his students to be balanced in both light and dark, but Kylo became addicted to the dark and Rey is now fearful of it. Have Luke and Rey make plans to visit Degoba to finish her training, but the get wind that the Knights of Ren (an order of dark force user assassins) are targeting the new Senate, so Luke stays behind to protect the Republic, and Leia and Rey go to Degoba alone. Rey sees her dark reflection and is afraid, so she doesn't complete the training, Luke asks for help because the Rens are too powerful and both Leia and Rey rush to the Capital. They repel the Rens, Rey fights Kylo, she looses, but Kylo fails to kill her, as was his own training, and now both haven't completed their training. An Ancient Evil (the last jedi): Luke and the gang are left to wonder how or why are the Rens so powerful, and Rey only grows in fear of the dark side. They seek answers with some force sensitive tribes that are able to balance the light and dark. Rey reflects on her inflexibility. Meanwhile Kylo is more conflicted because he's addicted, but not evil enough to kill his cousin, so he defects from the Knights of Ren. He learns, however, that the Rens are working in secret for the first order, and that Snoke is not who they thought; not only a cunning politician, but something else. Somehow, though, the Rens ambush and capture Luke and Leia and almost kill Rey, who was saved by Kylo, who was, in turn, hunting the Rens to find out who Snoke really is. They get beat up, the resistance is decimated, the capital is attacked, whatever. Up the stakes. Final Order (rise of skywalker): Rey and Kylo work together to rescue their parents, they track them down to an old sith planet, and basically the whole movie is about rescuing Luke and Leia. The jedi younglings also want to help, and the republic dispatches some squadrons, and some rebels join, whatever. The point is, Snoke was actually Darth Plagueis, and him and the Rens got so powerful because they found some old, very old Sith holocrons with the most secret of dark techniques. And now he can crush all those who oppose him in a clean final attack. Now, the time together soften both Rey and Kylo, and they gravitate towards the opposite side of the force. Rey was actually afraid of the dark because she found out she liked it too much, and Kylo gain the strength to resist the pull, and use it with wisdom. They fight with purple lightsabers, dual wields, whips, force powers, go nuts. Now, this is just a concept. You can add Poe as Rey's love interest, but because she was so fearful of the dark side she avoided emotional attachments, and then changes. You can have still have Finn be force sensitive and go from a coward to a liberator. You can have grey jedi be what the true balance of the force means, and you can still have Anakin's descendants complete the prophesy. Have some cool grey powers, a ghost jedi council, a miniature rebellion, Nightsister magic, crazy stuff. Have the old gang have one last adventure. Have C3PO and R2D2 witness the story, like before. Have BB-8 be Rey own custom droid. Just PLAN YOUR TRILOGIES!
Palpatine was trying to kill Rey. He sent Kylo to kill her. It wasn't until Kylo turned back to the lightside of the force that Palpatine wanted to turn Rey because he wanted someone to take over his empire and clearly he was close to dying.
@@Mr.Sozzled No he's right. Alot of it was explained. It just was executed too quickly and a little poorly. I thought the scenes with the emperor got too cheesy and not believable
@@Sergeant_Camacho Well, the answer to that question does not lie within the movie story, but the outside. His highness Mr. Johnson wanted to make a polarizing movie, wrote Episode 8 before Episode 7 even came out, trashed a lot of things just to "subvert expectations" and Mrs. Kennedy did not interject when the supposedly big bad of the entire trilogy got killed in the 2nd chapter.
Nah, if you want to watch a train wreck yea off course your gonna watch it. I did the same cuz at least I was able to rewind some shit, especially when a wtf moment came up.
One thing that bothers me: in the fight at 5:04, Rey leaves herself wide-open, while Kylo holds his lightsaber down by his waist. Instead of reaching out and stabbing her, he just waits for her to swing at him.

Here's another problem that I realized earlier today: You have thousands of really bulky Star Destroyer ships all wedged together tightly in just enough space for them to fit; how in *HELL* did they not accidentally hit each other when fighting off the Resistance's attack?!!!
1: There weren't thousands 2: Integrated navigation, They had a navigation tower to guide them out after all. 3: They weren't even moving (from what I could tell)
But he didn't "inherit" a mess from Rian Johnson... he GAVE the reigns to Rian Johnson for The Last Jedi (and how!)... then was asked by Bob Iger himself to come in and fix The Rise of Skywalker after Collin Treverow was fired during production. All three of them represent completes ass-hats who should never be allowed to helm movies again... but no one is going to film school anymore, so these studios are fucked! JarJar Abrams couldn't make this a good movie because, GET THIS, he actually can't make a good movie!!! ALL of his successes are "love stories" about another type of film he can essentially copy and paste with new lenses and CGI.
I love the Darth Plagueis novel, and I think that James Luceno is the best writer of Star Wars lore material. I could never understand why he and other writers of Star Wars novels we love weren’t tapped for this latest trilogy.
It's all in me. Anything you want done, baby, I'll do it naturally! I can read your thoughts right now... I can cast a spell, see... Any time you feel danger or fear, then instantly I will appear... Wait... Did they create Rey from the lyrics of a Whitney Houston song?
1. Why did luke's light saber call out to Rey 2. Why did obi-wan speak to her through it 3. What was up with her mirror scene in TLJ 4. If luke and leia knew she was a palpatine - that's bizarre, and they're playing with fire training her 5. Why didn't "all the jedi" help kylo instead of Rey "rise" 6. WTF didn't Anakin force ghost step forward and take out palps
I think you can like it, if you just let it go. Kids don’t care and just watch. I bet they like it like the kids of then liked the prequels. But I just watched star wars two times and I liked episode 1-6 and rogue one. But there are a lot of things cringing me in al the movies and things that don’t make sense
That’s pretty accurate. About nothing in these films makes sense, but they are alright stand-alone films if you accept that: good visuals, action sequences and light-hearted humor distract us from the bad stuff.
All I'm saying is palps didn't stop because he was getting what he wanted. He wanted Rey to kill him and her being "all the Jedi" doesn't change the fact that she's "striking him down"
When he said Kevin lee I was wondering if he was talking about ufc but I said no, that’s got to be one of the film creators. Looking at this comment confirms it was ufc lol
On another topic did people realize at beginning of movie Kylo actually was on Mustafar in the forrest fight scene. Mustafar was recovering from past lava issues
Adam Driver 100% drove this trilogy for sure. He almost felt like a side character in Rise of Skywalker. Star Wars got the Game of Thrones treatment with ROS.
The “Palpatine should just stop shooting lightning back at himself” argument is flimsy, at best. If you’re electrocuted while you’re doing something, you’ll continue to do it as you’ve lost control of your nerves. It’s like asking, “why don’t people who are being electrocuted by a fence just stop touching it?” They’re often unable and have to be knocked away using a piece of wood by another. Not saying I love ROS, but this criticism is really reaching. Sure it’s the Force, but still. It’s a passable flaw, if one at all.
If that's the case, why doesn't using electrocution powers immediately electrocute the user as well. I'm no physicist or anything. Plus, wouldn't that mean that once you start using the electricity power, there's no way to stop until you run out of energy and die? Like what the fuck
Tim Nergaard well I guess it’s because they’re channeling the Force, they’re not being affected by it until it’s been turned back on them. But obviously it’s hard to argue this using real world example as it’s fiction, I’m just saying that of all the criticisms, I think this one could be viewed as lesser. It’s plausible to me.
The way I look at this situation is that there is 20-30 years between episode 6 and 7 that I am really interested in finding out what happened. 7,8,9 are the end of a very long story that started with the fall of the empire. Theres the ghost crew and ashoka also now the mandalorian.
There not just bad ... this trilogy is the single greatest cinematic tragedy of all time ..... If movies are meant to suspend disbelief this entire trilogy fails over and over again from Ray going from thinking the Jedi are a myth to force user in a single day, to a Death star sun sucking planet, to bombs that drop in space, to weaponized hyperspace, to the Emperor surviving, to space horses running on a deck of a star destroyer, to Kylo trying to run Ray down with his Tie fighter, to only one ship in a fleet of star destroyers that have a map to navigate out of some magical space nebula .... There all written like a fucking video game plot or a cartoon
@@@hakatapawa7115 If you know what's good for you, you will never support a monopoly of any sort. You don't need inane movies to be happy anyway. Take some responsibility while you're alive! No one else will take it for you.
The problem with the sequels is that it’s difficult to like Rey. Her character feels force-fed, no pun intended, and is the hero just because “the Force is female.” The agenda to make this about the female hero ruined the potential of Kylo Ren. He should have finished the job with some kind of help from Anakin. No one cares about most of these characters because they hardly faced any conflict. Did Rey even suffer a scratch in the entire saga? Kylo was most interesting. He was even more conflicted than Vader was. As for the OT, they have their issues too. ANH is way too slow by modern standards. For example, it’s hard watching ANH after ROTS or R1. And ROTJ has those boring scenes in Jabba’s palace, which just drags along, and then Ewok scenes.
Kylo Ren re-forging his helmet was a visual representation of JJ trying to piece together this broken mess of a trilogy
i love how he seems to have this sense of ownership over it, yet it was never planned for him to be involved beyond episode 7

True.

I didn't really like the "side quests" in the mandalorian but episodes 7 and 8 were great
The mandalorian started off great and every episode after 4 was just babysitting in space
The “I am all the Jedi” is literally “I am Iron Man” when I saw it I was like ? Disney is just copying their own properties?

Palpatines amazing ark of getting someone to sign a paper!!! The prequels has similar world building to the newer movies! These movies actually have an extremely impactful villain!! It had a very consistent and interesting protagonist!! It had tons of fun action scenes!! It DIDNT MESS UP YODA’S CHARACTER BY GIVING HIM A FREAKING LIGHTSABER!!!
@@Rippen_Crippen ". Oh yes! Palpatines amazing ark of getting someone to sign a paper!!! "
Hey its not the movies fault that you can't understand the bigger picture of engineering a conflict involving a hostile takeover of his own home planet on a semi legal way using a contract to exploit a legal loophole to then gain pity point in the senate to gain more power as part of his bigger plan to reform the Republic into his personal empire.
We even get know exactly how both sides of the war get there seaming-less endless amount solders (ones with Cloning the others by mess producing them in factories)
What does you mean with "an extremely impactful villain!!"?
Do you mean Snock who come into power just because and who's actual force powers open dozens of unanswered questions who you can create a being as powerful in the force like him in a test tube (seriously and people say Medicloriens demystification the force at least with the Prequels couldn't you just clone someone to be all powerful with the force.)
Or do you mean Palpatin who with his message about his survival to the galaxy shows just how he lost any reaming amount of mind he had during the PT and OT.
Or do you mean Kylo who at the end of the day ended up as nothing but a puppet to Snock and than Palpatin (because really what did he accomplish between him killing snock and becoming Palpatines pawn) until he died to save Rey and who just believes into the memory of Han when not to long ago Palpatin just revealed to him that he was every voice in his head,
Even if I would agree that there messed up Yoda would I still easily be able to point out that there did worse to Han (who regressed back to his A New Hope persona just in worse at it) and especially Luke who got character-assassinated.
The prequels are garbage and your taste is shitty.
Phantom sucked, clone sucked revenge had younglings and those fucking tax aliens getting killed si its alright
@@rynobehnke8289 Don't forget about the rule of two. In the prequels we actually learn something about the Sith. This movie is the definition of "Bad Fanfiction"
I cringe every time I hear Haden say "from my point of view the Jedi are evil"

.Disney had one job to do: take their newly purchased multi billion franchise and write a trilogy within that universe. With good writers. And planning. And characters. How do you fail? It's not like the bar was super high after the prequels. Somehow they limboed right under it.
Nope, Disney's job/goal in their eyes was to make a trilogy that would make money. That's really it.
Daisy Ridley only makes those two faces.

Exactly.
Was not expecting a Chael Sonnen “how does Kevin Lee fit into all of this?” Reference LOLLL
It’s really easy to forget that the sequel trilogy takes place over a very short period of time (like a month).
Consequently, it’s hard to make a show from the sequels because there’s not a time frame that offers much opportunity to expand upon.
Wtf is that true. Damn that makes these films even worse

Are you masochist?
If Kathleen Kennedy wasn’t so obsessed with girl power, Kylo could’ve been a great story.
So you're obsessed with Boy Power?
Why couldn’t this trilogy just be about Rey and Finn fighting Kylo Ren???
I don‘t know why but to me the „And I am all the Jedi“ line was ridiculously lame...
ITs all to serve the story. The idea behind Palpatine continuing to shook out the electricity is that you’re body/nervousness system literally goes into shock And gets kind of stuck. It’s happened in real world as we’ll.
This film gave me a migraine.
Yeah same this film is bad
Actually same, I walked out with a heavy headache

@@nemesis9410 what's ur top 10 complaint with this film and ur top 2 praise's for this film
This wasn't a jedi story, it was a Palpatine story...the skywalkers were just background
I could barely get thru the ONLY time I saw it, and I still feel queezy.
In the expanded universe books, Palpatine had a bunch of mindless clones of himself to transfer his spirit into. The heroes had to destroy them to keep him dead.
This is exactly how I feel.. I didn’t like it and didn’t hate it, I felt nothing throughout.. the movie failed to be a movie
Who else wouldn't have mind if it was 2 hours longer but more productive and they actually explain at least half of the things they didn't?
Just saw it yesterday and I thought it was insane. Once I turned off my brain and viewed the film ironically I had a blast. For me Episode VI will always be the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga and the sequel trilogy will have been Luke’s post-Endor Fever dream. It was that ridiculous.
I think u mean insane In a bad way
I'm 49 and my daughter is 17...We have both grown up with Star Wars...we were talking about how we both love Chewie but literally felt nothing when he 'died' and then felt even less than nothing ( if that's possible ) when he didn't really 'die'
That's how we both felt as we left the cinema...
Prequels > Sequels
Hahaha lmao but no they both aren't good but I liked revenge of the sith but I can't even sit through episode 1 or 2 or even episode 8 but the prequels are way more bland and then episode 7 or 9 that's why I prefer the sequels over the prequels but that's not much of an accomplishment
How about THEY BOTH SUCK?
@@andrewpike2398 Prequels > Sequels
@@AnnoyingSwedishGuy How about THAT'S YOUR FUCKING OPINION?
I have no desire to watch the sequel trilogy even a second time
I wished they had a better story for the sequel trilogy. Like I wished it was different than the last two trilogies.
Why are you still giving money to Disney?
Willowy13 because we are djmbass
I almost picked up an old school Mickey Mouse Christmas card for my mom this year, then I remembered that giving money to Disney keeps supporting mediocrity
I never spent a red cent on this train wreck trilogy. I boycotted all of it the very day Lucas sold it to the dimwit merchandise mongrels....called Disney
@@censorshipisbookburning3235 ??? Yeap, because their Disney Attractions suck...lol
Because people want to enjoy a movie without you using any type of bullshit
1) Great character interaction
2) Sense of adventure
3) Over-the-top moments
Don't get me wrong, the movie sucked, as they all did, but this one felt like a swashbuckling good time so long as you turn off the brain.
9:44
So, I came up with what I would have done with the pieces Disney had. I hope you like it:
The Force Awakens:
Start with C3PO and R2D2, they're with Luke and Leia in their new Jedi academy, training Rey, who's declared Luke's daughter from the start.
An Ancient Evil (the last jedi):
Luke and the gang are left to wonder how or why are the Rens so powerful, and Rey only grows in fear of the dark side.
Final Order (rise of skywalker):
Rey and Kylo work together to rescue their parents, they track them down to an old sith planet, and basically the whole movie is about rescuing Luke and Leia.
8:08 is that a Chael Sonnen reference? the infamous "Where does Kevin Lee fit in?"
"Adam Driver drives the series" YOU DID IT
Palpatine was trying to kill Rey. He sent Kylo to kill her. It wasn't until Kylo turned back to the lightside of the force that Palpatine wanted to turn Rey because he wanted someone to take over his empire and clearly he was close to dying.
there was a fucking legion of sith. I'm sure one of them could take over
Mr.ClickBait 420
Who? The Sith troopers were not force sensitive. At least most of them.
@@Mr.Sozzled No he's right. Alot of it was explained. It just was executed too quickly and a little poorly. I thought the scenes with the emperor got too cheesy and not believable
Still doesn't make any sense why Palpatine is back.
The entire sequel trilogy is hot shit together but TROS is the most fun movie by itself.

One thing that bothers me: in the fight at 5:04, Rey leaves herself wide-open, while Kylo holds his lightsaber down by his waist. Instead of reaching out and stabbing her, he just waits for her to swing at him.
So I have conversations with my family lately about this movie and they loved, and so I tell them what made you love this film? And they say bullshit responses that don’t really support their opinion and when I say why the movie sucks they don’t have anything to say.

HAKATAPAWA Lol if you are going to the theatres in 2019 expecting some big grand story you are going to be disappointed everytime, the days of classic movies are over but that doesn’t mean the new wave of movies is not entertaining. P
TeFaZ Cause I support Kathleen Kennedy and JJ Abraham’s
In Jedi Fallen Order the main character can sense memories from objects. So that might explain how Rey could see visions from Luke's lightsaber.....
But that's some specific thing Cal Kestis had. I don't like the idea of Ret having all force powers existing.
This is a really cool idea
Babu Frik was pretty dope
Here's another problem that I realized earlier today:
You have thousands of really bulky Star Destroyer ships all wedged together tightly in just enough space for them to fit; how in *HELL* did they not accidentally hit each other when fighting off the Resistance's attack?!!!
1: There weren't thousands
2: Integrated navigation, They had a navigation tower to guide them out after all.
3: They weren't even moving (from what I could tell)
I give this movie a 5/10 only because I know JJ inherited a mess from RJ.
It is not worth any more than one viewing.
He inherited a mess any competent writer could fix. Unfortunately J.J. is an uncreative hack and the guy that wrote Batman V Superman is even worse.
Jj inherited a mess from jj. Tfa was god awful and added nothing to sw but plot holes, a Mary sue and mystery boxes.
@@Elnegro.. unfortunately while I agree, he was ordered to play it safe and KK demanded an overpowered female main lead.

The Demise of Skywalker makes no sense but it will make money... Great for Disney very disappointing for the fan's
I love the Darth Plagueis novel, and I think that James Luceno is the best writer of Star Wars lore material. I could never understand why he and other writers of Star Wars novels we love weren’t tapped for this latest trilogy.

The young dude next to me fell asleep twice during the movie and I saw it in the middle of the day, so that says it all
Palpatine shouldn't have even been in the movie. You don't need to watch it twice to make sense of that fact. I question your sanity.
1. Why did luke's light saber call out to Rey
2. Why did obi-wan speak to her through it
3. What was up with her mirror scene in TLJ
4. If luke and leia knew she was a palpatine - that's bizarre, and they're playing with fire training her
5. Why didn't "all the jedi" help kylo instead of Rey "rise"
@@thesenate2676 exactly. that is the best way to view it

The “Palpatine should just stop shooting lightning back at himself” argument is flimsy, at best.
If you’re electrocuted while you’re doing something, you’ll continue to do it as you’ve lost control of your nerves. It’s like asking, “why don’t people who are being electrocuted by a fence just stop touching it?”
They’re often unable and have to be knocked away using a piece of wood by another. Not saying I love ROS, but this criticism is really reaching. Sure it’s the Force, but still. It’s a passable flaw, if one at all.
Nice explanation mate!
