I had high hopes for the Momentum. But lackluster lume and no LED for the LCD doesn’t quite work for me. I have the solar Arnie and honesty think it’s one of the best release from Seiko in recent years. The whole package just works for me. Though not the brightest I’ve seen, but the lume gets the job done. I agree with your choice. Hope Momentum will release v2 with better lume.
I agree. You get a ton of watch for a reasonable price when it comes to the Arnie. Hopefully Momentum listens to what the fans are saying and knocks it out of the park next time around.
Just pre-ordered for the next round of UDTs. Hoping they address some of the shortfalls but I'm willing to take a chance. I think the form factor of the UDT will fit me a bit better. Great comparison!
@working_mans_watches I went with the baton model instead of the new one with numerals. I did spring for the bracelet so we'll see how that is. They were offering 25% off right now so all in just under $300
We've come to the same conclusion on this. The Momentum is generally a better made watch, but the lume is worse, and the lack of a backlight kills the nighttime use for me. If I didn't have such a mess of a time in getting a working Arnie, I'd recommend it to people. However, I should not have needed to contact Seiko, and send the watch back to them TWICE to get a working Arnie. Shame, as I've really been enjoying it now that it works, but the fact that it two 2 months of back and forth to the repair center killed my enjoyment for the brand.
Yeah, I wish the folks at Momentum didn't get lazy when they were already 75% of the way there, but it seems they did. As for the Arnie, I can't believe you had so many problems with it. Looks like I just got lucky. The only thing I can find wrong on mine is the bezel misalignment, but whatever.
@@working_mans_watches It's really a shame that Momentum didn't wanna go all the way and really make it a top-tier watch. Trust me, I wish I just had some bad alignment with my Arnie, hahaha.
Great show my friend! Love the UDT but it ain’t the ARNIE!;)
Thanks for tuning in! I've said it before and I'll say it again...the only watch that can beat the Arnie is the Citizen Aqualand.
I was waiting for this battle.
I love your username. VHS is still the best way to watch movies at home.
@@working_mans_watches and porn 😀
That comparison I was waiting for😊 thanks 🙏
No problem. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
That was a nice teaser at the end 💪
Haha, thanks!
Absolutely killed it with those clips.
Really looking forward to round 2💪
Thanks!
Alright, you sold me on the Arnie. Ordering now!
You’re welcome, Seiko!

For me, Arnie is numero uno. I wish they were just a lil bit smaller. I'd like to have them in true OG size
So do I. I waited a long time for them to release the smaller version, but after five years I got impatient. Hopefully someday, though.
😂👍 Great review & I really wanted this Momentum after enjoying my GA2100. Might just wait for a GM2100 I like. Thanks
I like the Momentum a lot, but do yourself a favor and wait a year or two. They have some things to work out, especially the lume and the backlight.

Thanks! Which one of the new UDTs did you get? I saw that Momentum had options with numerals on the dial and PVD bracelets now.

Holy crap, that lume on the Momentum is awful. Arnie is numero uno!
He always has been, and always will be. Well, with the exception of Clint Eastwood, that is.
