Nevada Arcade still owned maybe?
no idea , Im in S NV now so I havent really heard a peep in 20 years.
I remember when that place was open. Great video. Thanks!
It never opened. Those are custom skylights, not solar panels ( the sun was magnified and popped opened one of the sprinkler heads, which soaked the unfinished grand staircase)The building is clad in clear redwood that we soaked in preservative before installing.
This property was purchased a few years ago, the guy who bought wanted it for his home. He paid $200,000, with $13,000 a month lease payments to the railroad.
Went there when t was no hot or casino...Hot springs only in 70/71..A great spot
From an article written by Riley Kessinger: "George I. Benny would purchase the River Inn property in a bankruptcy auction in 1979. The fraud associated with the River Inn, along with that of a long list of other properties, would eventually lead Benny to a thirty-year sentence in prison.
At the bankruptcy auction, Benny purchased the property formerly known as Lawton’s Hot Springs for $ 2,070,000 and declared that it would from now on be called the “River Palace.” The creation of the River Palace was not Benny’s first foray into the world of failed real estate, as he would also be convicted for fraud in connection with owning the master-planned neighborhood known as the Double Diamond Ranch. Benny began a “lavish spending program” that would upgrade the River Inn’s structure to the massive one it has today, but would eventually land Benny $16 million in debt once the “project was finally called to a halt” (Kling). Benny claimed he was investing his own money into each project when, in reality, he was not, and he would end up being sentenced to thirty years in prison for fraud and racketeering (Voyles)."
That REBAR was the hot tub / spa

My parents went there a few times when it first opened.
Lol that place was never opened. They straight lying to you
🖤💜💙💚💙💜🖤
Sorry bub
Much love
@@endTHEhegemony_Today They had a company party there.
@@bradenriley9066 Not in it's current form. This building never opened because George Benny (previous owner) went to prison for fraud so it was never completed-he was 16 million bucks in debt. Benny tore down the previous building and restaurant in 1980 (I think-he bought it in 1979), which might be what your parents are talking about.
@@ohenry4892My mother worked for First Interstate bank back in the 70s and 80s. They had a company party there.
It’s creepy going by when it’s dark
A guy was killed when his truck and camper got stuck on the tracks . 1975 ish
I went within the gates and took pictures around. Very interesting place, love abandoned structures.
What's the address?
I can't seem to find any pictures of what's inside.
Go to mike_c775 @instagram. Or abandoned_nevada @instagram. I took pics

Been there many times back in the day. Miss that old place.
I lived there in my sisters bus in the campground.
Lots of good times. Memories.
FYI I have heard of story we’re a guy used the River to access property but then the same guy was arrested for trespassing. Be careful very cool looking place.
Researching The Paranormal will investigate that building next year! Thanks for the Video!!
I actually applied for a job there when they were getting close to opening. I don't remember much about the interview except that the man who interviewed me told me that this place was going to be very upscale and I remember him describing how the place would look when they were done with construction. That was a looonnnng time ago. lol
Yeah the guy who bought it wound up go in ng bankrupt and the guy that owned it went to prison for fraud.
George I Benny was the man. He also owned Double Diamond Ranch south of Reno. He could have sold it for 100 million dollar profit and paid all his loans and still be rich. He was stubborn but had some good but inexperienced people around him. Some really good memories working there
Hello, I think it would be fun to do a follow up video with you. I am the owner of the property. It aint about sewer. Are you interested?
