I’m from Scotland and I love America, and I love these old quiet western towns, they’re just like you see in the movies! Love how everyone’s into the alien stuff too, likely because they’ve seen so much stuff themselves out there 👍
This was fun. I'm from the area so I can help out with a couple of things. Pioche is pronounced pee-ohsh. The reason for daytime headlights is that when large stretches of desert roads and highways get hot it causes a sort of mist-like distortion. Headlights help make cars more visible to other drivers within that distortion. I hope you spend more time in the area!
Zebras, camels, donkeys, wild horses, aliens, cool old forgotten towns with vintage style---this video has it all, Adam!! I love this one so much! I sometimes think that you're one of the luckiest people on Earth! Your road trip videos are the best of the best!
This is a great thing that you are doing for Nevada. Most people don't know about the wonders we have here in the Silver state. The one thing I would like to recommend is continuing on to Great Basin National Park. It will give you a completely different view of Nevada. It has very impressive mountains, forests, and even a cave to tour. Wheeler Peak is awesome. It looks like a pyramid glacier sticking out of the surface of the earth. Didn't d the cave though no dogs allowed. Except service dogs. Yeah no lazy dogs, really wow. Thanks again for the shout out.

Interesting fact: that entire train and the set up it sits in was once in front of Main Street Station Casino. The Casino owner across the street bought the land to build a parking garage. He bought the Train and I believe donated it to whoever would pay to have it moved. You are the G.O.A.T Adam. You always find the best places...thanks

Adam you're correct, that train is the one from Orlando. A developer by the name of Bob Snow who was a big player here in Florida purchased a hotel in old Vegas and named it Main Street Station as a hat tip to Church Street Station. He then brought in relics from all over the world including a few of those train cars which used to reside in Orlando and put them in and around his Vegas casino. The rail cars were used by Buffalo Bill Cody and Annie Oakley during their traveling shows pre Deadwood days. Bob Snow was a prolific collector of various rare items from around the world. I used to own a claw-foot bathtub from England that was in his collection. He started liquidating things and then sold the Main Street Station to the Boyd group some years back. The open desert is a strange and mysterious place.
Thank you for this. I lived in Vegas for 10 years and found my soul in the random desert places around Nevada. Loved the wild Mustang spotting as well! That was a favorite past time of mine, going and randomly finding a Mustang herd in the desert 🏜

That train, canopy and all, stood in a parking lot outside of the hotel for ages, but the land was sold to make way for the new Circa hotel (specifically its parking garage). So great to see that the entire display has been preserved!!
This is the first video I have watched on your channel, and it's amazing! Love your style. I could live in a shack in this area of the country, and die a happy man.
The “headlights on” zones are about accident prevention. Typically on open expanse two lane high speed roads accident rates (head-ons in particular) are researched to note the difference when head lights are on in daylight.

Oh wow. What are the odds that you would decide to travel down that quiet little highway that's off the beaten path, for you to find a seemingly random road that takes you to discover Ryanhenge, a Camel hanging out with a bunch of other animals, and of course Main Street Station. Honestly, all of that would have been amazing on its own, but we all know that you're Adam the Woo, so it absolutely cannot end there. Seeing the Main Street Station sign caused you to think about Church Street Station, a place that's thousands of miles away from where you are standing and as you were walking towards a railcar under the cover... boom! Right in front of you is a Church Street Station railcar. Seriously, what are the odds? Your ability to find things in places that seem to defy logic, is unbelievable. LOL. I can tell you I probably would have never gone down that road, let alone take the highway you're going down. You're a modern day Magellan. Lol

Fantastic!! I'm glad you appreciate the beauty the desert beholds. It has many secrets one cannot see at a glance. Loved seeing a camel. We have a local celebrity camel of sorts named Izzy. He's actually very friendly and loves people. Loving the Route 66 adventure. Traveled it many times to various areas.
From my very small amount of traffic engineering knowledge, the headlight zone is so you can see oncoming vehicles more easily, increasing safety since it's a high speed two lane road
Fantastic adventure. So enjoyable to hang with you. My 2 buddies Frank and Jerry and myself did so many trips like this. Brought back some special moments from long ago. Thanks Adam.
The wild mustangs ❤️❤️❤️. Absolutely beautiful. I love seeing them like that.- Cute old cowboy town you found. Looks like it could be an old movie set. - The reason you had to run the headlights I believe is so your car is more visible to on coming traffic. Other wise it would just blend in with the terrain. - You finding all the neat stuff out there in the desert.
What an amazing video! I was saying "WOW!" right along with you. Makes me want to go on a road trip right now! Thanks for taking us along on your awesome adventures. ❤
Could not believe the amount of solar panels when we drove through there. In Australia the biggest solar farm we went past on the way into Victoria was nowhere near that size.
If the road has dangerous sections, like narrow passages, tight curves or mountains...they require that you turn your headlights on in the daytime to help visibility of on coming traffic.
Where are you from? I'm in Colorado Rockies. The only time we leave headlights on are in tunnels or bad low visibilty storms. What good are headlights in the day time?
Distance is kind of deceiving with the dips in the road. Some serious accidents of people driving fast and not paying attention. The county sheriff patrols the road and catches some guys trying to see how fast their car will go on those roads.
@@redpill5471 They greatly aid your visibility to on coming traffic. Motorcycles have their lights on all the time. I come from Arkansas, and trust me, we have some switchback roads, where lights come in very handy during the day time.
@@LadyDragonsblood ummm motorcycles are smaller than cars and are hard to see. That's the only reason they leave headlights on. Also Colorado has 14,000 foot mountains with much deeper canyons than flatlander Arkansas. Im just speaking from experience.
@@redpill5471 Then fine .... drive without your headlights on. Just know there ARE some places where daylight headlights come in very handy. Why make an argument out of absolutely nothing.

I've driven on that highway many times. The "Lights On" during daylight hours is for safety, as in cars/semi-trucks passing into your lane of travel. I've seen several times why it's necessary.
Thank you for always being so consistent with these videos and showing us little areas around the country that a lot of us don’t know exist. Can you imagine if you did this on a global scale what that would be like!?

The last time I watched DailyWoo was six years ago in 2018 right before I moved. I had forgotten about this channel. But leave it to youtube to recommend this video to me. I'm now thinking about his bike jump off the slide in Southern California. His visit to his town where he spent part of his childhood in Oklahoma(?). Woo not getting hired by ;the local convenience store when he was younger. Guess there will be alot of videos for me to watch now.
I love this episode! I love the back roads, old towns and old mills/coal ovens you stopped at! Which hotel did you wind up staying at? Are we going to get a tour of the accommodations you stayed at?
Adam did you feel like Dennis Weaver driving your Plymouth Valiant through those mountainous two lane roads while being pursued by a blacked out Peterbilt Tanker truck???
Daytime headlights are so other cars can see you coming. if you pass out there in the desert, sometimes there are heat waves going across the road. You cant see oncoming cars if the lights aren't on . This happens a lot on the long straight roads!
I was back in Orlando Fl in 2015. Church Street Station area had had a lot of reconstruction/building which ruined the entertainment business' beside the station. Rosy O' Grady's was sold and a restaurant called Cerviche was in it's place with very few customers...Rosy's was a great place, a pity. The train carriage was used as an antique store back in the 80's. Great to see it again.
Looks like you're meandering in our direction...stop by and see us in Caldwell, Idaho. Lots of history here ( and guest quarters upstairs). Happy travels!
I really enjoyed this video, just exploring and seeing what you can find. I love discovering old forgotten towns. Plenty of those here in my home state of Oklahoma. For some reason I haven't made it out to Nevada to those wild open places to explore. I hope to one day make it out to the old west areas and just do that, explore! Thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
This was Awesome! I like the way you explain what your seeing, and what we are seeing. Thank you Adam for taking us along on this adventure! The wild horses was very interesting. I done a little research on the wild horses, and it seems that there are wild horse, wild mustangs, all over the higher elevations of Nevada. The mustangs are descendants of the wild horses of the early 1800s. Very cool. I am very glad that I found your channel, bc I absolutely love adventures like this. Brush off the conformity of society and it's signs, and Just head down desert or mountain roads and just see what you find. Thanks again for this. You are an explorer, and adventurer at heart! My maternal grandfather worked at Rex theater in Caliente during the Great Depression. He loved to tell abaut the day Aimee Semple Mcpherson and a small entourage rolled into town with car trouble. They had to stay the night while the car was being fixed, and bought tickets for the evening movie. Everyone in town came down to see her at the theater, and she gave an impropmptu sermon(virtually the whole town was LDS, but they appreciated hearing her all the same)

Maybe you can join me on my next movie venture! Would love to have your expertise in locations! Great content as always. Watch and enjoy daily with my jo. Go Clark Griswold!
Pioche is one of my favorite little towns. I used to love to shop in the antique store (owned by a guy from the Bronx and his wife,I came from the same neighborhood in the Bronx) the store was set up in sections like kitchen area, at the door there was a police Harley 3 wheeler with a manikin dressed in 50's police uniform. We stayed in a smell new "little house" on the main street. The people are very friendly and the area is almost as it was when the mine was working. Ely is another small town, my wifes father lived there and worked for a company that developed ejection seats for jets. The town folks are called "down winders" as many (including my father in law) died from radiation poisoning from the nuclear tests done nearby. The road to Ely is signed as the loneliest road in America, well named.
If you want to experience an area with wild horses; you need to go to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. To get the best experience of the Outer Banks you need to stay in Corolla; North Carolina. To get there, you need to get to Kitty Hawk and then make a left. The road is a two lane road and you pass through a small town called Duck, and then you hit Corolla. The town of Corolla has literally no big name restaurants, two grocery stores and several shops. Then to see the horses, you need to have a 4x4 or take a horse tour as to get to the area where the horses are; you have to drive on the actual beach to the village of Corova in which there are no paved roads. You then drive through the small 4x4 village in which you will see several wild horses that will go up to people porches, graze in yards, may cross your path or may even be some playing on the beach itself. Then back in Corolla, they have one of the oldest working lighthouses that is still operated by a lighthouse keeper. The lighthouse keeper lives on property and you can actually climb to the top of the lighthouse and look out over the sound and ocean. You can also take a day trip south to see all of the Outer Banks lighthouses like Hateras. In addition; prior to crossing a bridge to the Outer Banks there is a place that allows you to ride in an actual monster truck that also has an old fashion diner and gift shop.
I just mentioned about this area in another post. I don't suggest to say some are friendly because many are not and may kick you etc. Keep a distance. Even tame, semi tamed horses under human care may attack people even if not threatening them
I dont think thats enough power. Most people in nevada are hooked up thru Nevada power and a few get it from the dam. Nevada Energy corporation that is. A monopoly if i ever saw one.

What an amazing video! I was saying "WOW!" right along with you. Makes me want to go on a road trip right now! Thanks for taking us along on your awesome adventures. ❤
You make my day, when I hear you talking to all the animals. Makes me smile and warms my heart.
Could not believe the amount of solar panels when we drove through there. In Australia the biggest solar farm we went past on the way into Victoria was nowhere near that size.
mate you read my mind! *waving from Whittlesea
Lynn, solar and wind turbines are the biggest waste of taxpayer's money there ever was
If the road has dangerous sections, like narrow passages, tight curves or mountains...they require that you turn your headlights on in the daytime to help visibility of on coming traffic.
Wow! Thanks for taking us on such interesting adventures! I'm an adventurer, but broke my neck a few years ago, so can't travel a lot. But thanks to you and your adventuring videos, I feel like I am right there exploring with you. So thank you!
Very nice trek out there with some unique items to adventure upon. I loved RyanHenge and the animals - they had to see The Woo. Always great Adam you never let me down I don't know how you do it through all these years! Best wishes!
I've driven on that highway many times. The "Lights On" during daylight hours is for safety, as in cars/semi-trucks passing into your lane of travel. I've seen several times why it's necessary.
😂 I always have to make sure I have a piping hot caffeinated beverage while watching the great adventures of Adam the Woo!
Thank you for always being so consistent with these videos and showing us little areas around the country that a lot of us don’t know exist. Can you imagine if you did this on a global scale what that would be like!?
I found my favorite moment of all time from all your videos (and yes I've watched 90% of them) this video and the wild horses. So happy you pulled over. Beautiful 😍
I was just out there last week. From Vegas, to Zion, Bryce, Lake Powell, and Grand Canyon. This video brought me back and continued on to the roads less traveled.
Thanks for the upload, I really enjoyed it.
I love these trips to areas many of us are unfamiliar with. I love all of your videos, but these are my absolute favorites. Thank you, Adam. Stay safe.👏🤠👏
You find the most interesting places to share with us! This one was really cool. Please be careful out there while traveling and out in the middle of nowhere. I really appreciate you.
Thanks for taking me along on your tumbleweed tour! Love the old towns and the scenery is awesome.
Thanks for the drive! I love the kilns and old west towns. Going back to a kinder, gentler time.
My guess about the headlight zones is that it makes the oncoming traffic a little bit easier to see, or to judge distances for passing etc.
Love this exploration of these small places!
Daytime headlights are so other cars can see you coming. if you pass out there in the desert, sometimes there are heat waves going across the road. You cant see oncoming cars if the lights aren't on . This happens a lot on the long straight roads!
You are in your element. This one was an award winner. Fascinating, fun and unforgettable.
This is what we love to do. Get lost on a road trip.
Your video is now one of my favorites of all time on youtube. Bravo Zulu!!
Good morning buddy have a great day always enjoy the road trips I see places we rarely 😊
How you managed to make that desolate drive so interesting is beyond me; you definitely have good attention for details🦓
Looks like you're meandering in our direction...stop by and see us in Caldwell, Idaho. Lots of history here ( and guest quarters upstairs). Happy travels!
Good morning Adam! Joining you today for exploration in the desert! Watch out for those painful cacti and sinkhole-like mining areas🙂.
See you in the next one pal, I look forward to it.
Everyone in town came down to see her at the theater, and she gave an impropmptu sermon(virtually the whole town was LDS, but they appreciated hearing her all the same)
Safe travels finding those hidden places. Enjoying the videos. Thank you!👍
Great coverage of central/eastern parts of Nevada. I'm born and raised in Vegas and pioche and ely are def some of the coolest towns in Nevada. If you haven't done goldfield and tonapah, make sure to check them out next time!
A herd of wild horses, wow! Loved seeing that 😀😍
Thank you for taking the road less traveled!
That's pretty crazy to find that train car in the middle of the desert from Orlando.
Love starting the day with a hot caffeinated beverage, a puff of a medication legal in my state, and one of your great road trip vids 👍❤️🔥
Thanks for bringing the small town views and as always a good glimpse of trains!
Two Thumbz 👍👍
You're better than any other tour guide I've met. Thanks so much for this adventure.
Adam, I’m glad you had a good time in California doing some Disney stuff and other things, but I’m glad you’re back on the road. I do open those videos up though of the Disney and I like the video for the support but I don’t watch them, I despise Disney but when you do all these open roads small towns the way you do it is just amazing. Keep up the good work drive safe out there.
who despises Disney!?!?
@@chucklakin49 we’re out here lol. I know Adam enjoys it and I’m absolutely fine and whoever likes it it’s absolutely fine just myself I’m not there.
Who cares if you like Disney or not?
@@chucklakin49 Disney isn't interesting.
There are more of us than maybe fans of Disney realize
Thumbs up number 60 here! Keep up these awesome uploads
Thanks Trevor
Such beautiful scenery, thanks for sharing.
look at that road view, what a place to take photos
Those areas for headlights because they are known to have dust storms.
Your a master at finding these weird and amazing things on your journeys. Gotta love out in the desert so much beauty. Thanks Adam for todays drive. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
This was one of my favorite videos from you really liked this adventure a lot.
It’s so interesting driving around and seeing things you didn’t even know was there.
Sincerely, you’d make an incredible location scout/manager for motion pictures. You have so much knowledge on so many interesting spots around the country. This town is so darn cool. Maybe you can join me on my next movie venture! Would love to have your expertise in locations! Great content as always. Watch and enjoy daily with my jo. Go Clark Griswold!
Thanks dude ! We gotta get together one of these days for sure
i wanted to see adam go to area 51 and just floor it, and head for the base see how far he could get lol
Appreciate you taking us along on your travels- stay safe!
OBX- my state’s wonderrland
I just mentioned about this area in another post.
I don't suggest to say some are friendly because many are not and may kick you etc. Keep a distance. Even tame, semi tamed horses under human care may attack people even if not threatening them
PS
Deer are friendly to humans... But NEVER run into a buck during mating season... Your life is in danger!
Fun fact: those solar panels are owned by the MGM Corporation and power the casinos! 🎰
Oh no kidding ?
I dont think thats enough power. Most people in nevada are hooked up thru Nevada power and a few get it from the dam. Nevada Energy corporation that is. A monopoly if i ever saw one.
Amazing vlog, Adam. Thanks for sharing. Good too see you back in historic Americana exploring facinating nooks and crannies!
This was outstanding. Loved every second. Great job.
Love this, I'm a Pioche resident and would like to clarify how to pronounce our historical town's name. It is pronounced: PEE - O - CH, the e at the end is silent. also EE - L - I is how you pronounce Ely. Keep it up I love these exploration adventure videos.
Pioche in french is a pickaxe.
I've heard you use the word " stanchion" many times usually in the context of a barrier. Wrongo dear Woo. A stanchion is a VERTICAL beam for support not for blocking or barricading anything. Regardless love love your vids. Daffney was a great addition. She's adorable.
It’s taken on a meaning of its own at this point in my mind . I’m weird
@@TheDailyWoo lol you're not weird. You're just our lovable Woo! I get your drift on word association 👍💖
Don’t forget “correlation” it’s used for reference or something akin to that 😂
This video is why you're my favorite You Tuber!! Love the random spots as I feel I'm standing right next to you when you discover these places!!
Thank you Adam love this stuff, those ovens amazing, amazing things were built to last, glad you found them
