- OSCAR WINNER:Best Score"'Round Midnight" is writer/director Bertrand Tavernier's loving ode to jazz and its creators. Real-life jazz artist Dexter Gordon captured an Academy Award nomination as the fictional Dale Turner; an expatriate musician in 1959 Paris. Herbie Hancock's superb music score won captured the ears of the Academy and he was rewarded with an Oscar.
Round Midnight changed my life. I learned how to play the saxophone because of this movie and hearing the music of Dexter Gordon helped me stick with the saxophone. I saw myself on the screen and believed one day be like Dale Turner… flaws and all 😅.
If you haven’t seen this movie, do yourself a favor AND WATCH IT!

@@benwhitaker5802 thanks, I figured it out. the thing was, the intro is not included on any audio release, it can ONLY be heard in this trailer and in the movie itself.
