Oh JD I am so happy to hear you talk about ''the music'' I totally agree with you 100% , recently I went to another church for one time, and the music was so loud that I wondered if my ear drums would have been damaged! I mean, goodness me, what is it with this ''new rage '' ? Well I understand you wanting to vent, and glad you did, Before you even said it ,that came to mind for me, that you wanted to 'vent' JD I pray for the completion of the building, and that Gods grace will continue to be upon it, and that there will NEVER be a division! I'd love to be there for the ''grand opening'' hmmmm... too bad I can't. but I shall be celebrating with you from a distance! God bless you JD!
Thank you Pastor JD I love your not leaving us in the dark about why things happen. I was wondering about the ark and as always, you took the time to explain why the guy died and what David had done wrong. It shows we must handle YHWH's word as he intended also. Thank you so much. I pray you will all be in the new church in October and that YHWH will open hearts and check books so you own it free and clear. No mortgage. Come on people , I know money is tight but a dollar, five dollars. That isn't much but if we all send even a small amount, it adds up. Let's build YHWH's church paid for.
I used to go to a church as Pastor described (a very famous one that has their own music channel), 30 minutes of loud, fast rock music with a 20 minute motivational speech. I was becoming more and more irritated with cherry-picking scripture that often led to it being taken out of context. The tipping point for me was the day I realised that I'd just sat through 20 minutes and not 1 scripture was referenced - not one! I realised that I was in danger of becoming a spiritually fat Christian from constantly being fed junk, and went in search of good expositional teaching to get my spiritual nutrition back on track. That was nearly 3 years ago, and my family and I have been part of Calvary Chapel Kaneohe online family ever since. I love being challenged every day (even though sometimes its hard and it hurts!), and the three of us sit together and talk about how we can apply it to our lives in the week to come, and reflect on one or two situations that could have gone better in the week that has passed if we had applied the scriptures, so that we can do better next time. Peace!
I experienced a similar timeline of experiences, so with our 4 boys we started home church. We are still trying to find a solid "normal" church in our area. I know normal is a vague category, however some of the strangest blending of prosperity, politics, and the world seems to predominate a lot of the churches here.
I'm starting back to the beginning of the study you've been doing on Chronicles. Love it! But wanted to address your side-note. I dig rock and role. I'm a lifer classically trained pianist/keyboardist/vocalist (call myself an aging rock-n-roller). BUT - you are dead on about the contemporary music of today. I haven't been called to any other church, but I am taking a sabbatical from the music ministry that I've been doing all of my life. And it's been hard. As much as I can get into the some of the contemporary music, and love and admire our Minister of Music and his family, but I miss the glorious music we used to have, especially at high holy days. A lot of our senior saints (and I'm almost there) are either avoiding the music portion of the service and only coming in to the sanctuary to hear the sermon, or many former members are leaving. The music is more like Christian rock chanting. Thank you for your teaching and dedication.
Oh, GOD bless you on plowing through those HARD TO PRONOUNCE NAMES; Oh, and by the way, MY NAME "Jada" IS IN THE BIBLE (see: 1 Chronicles 2:32 but Jada in the scripture is a man not a woman. Hahahahaha. Love you dearly, Pastor JD. Always look forward to these Mid-week Bible studies.
Dunno; from what I've read in the Bible God deals with individuals. He doesn't need an 'army'. From what I've read He searches the earth for individuals whose hearts are committed to Him. He used Elijah against the prophets of Baal; if He needed an army He would have amassed the 7,000 whose knees never bent to Baal. And who can forget Gideon's 'army'? This seems to be the usual pattern. Man wants to beat his chest and feel needed and important, and more churches seem to be feeding that need. I've even heard Christians saying they WANT to go through the Great Tribulation so they can witness. What we want is irrelevelant; what matters is what the Bible says. And if they really understood what happens in the Great Tribulation, they would obey Jesus and pray that they may be accounted worthy to ESCAPE (yes, even Jesus used the 'E' word) all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Lk 21:36
When I first viewed this it was not CC, but now when I view it I can see CC, so I can share it with my brother. Thank you for pointing this out to me! I appreciate it very much. :)

Thank u this book is difficult to understand. Thank u for explaining it..

I wish this was CC. My brother is deaf and would like the video if he could understand it.
It is when I do it? I've noticed that the CC doesn't come straight away when Pastor uploads, but its there the next day or the day after.
When I first viewed this it was not CC, but now when I view it I can see CC, so I can share it with my brother. Thank you for pointing this out to me! I appreciate it very much. :)
