Got tongues as an "infant" Christian - had doubts for some years on whether it was ok or not and eventually abandoned it - just not sure. Now after years, just came back to speaking in tongues (in my own privacy) and can instantly feel that it very much edifies, and also getting prophetic words (appropriate bible verses) for sisters and brothers more than before. Thank You Father. Thank You for Your guidance.
Awesome!! Thank you Pastor JD! Good to know you believe in Baptism of the Holy Spirit! I have only watched your excellent "Prophecy updates" on Sunday's since about 6 months ago. I love you!!! SBN/JSM (Jimmy Swaggart Ministries) is also being used greatly by the move of the Holy Spirit in these last days. You would be an excellent guest on the panel of the program "Frances & Friends" weekday mornings on SBN. It's an very informative program that discusses current events and bible prophecy questions! You are doing great work for the Kingdom, Brother! You feed my hungry soul! God Bless you! Susie
Acts 2 King James Version (KJV) 2 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
+Linda MacIntyre The problem Linda is when somebody speaks the truth there are people who have their feathers ruffled. As the pastor said ,"his fight is against the spirits of darkness and powers and principalities of evil. Formidable enemies of Jesus and the Christian faith. I don't think it is too much to ask of us to bring JD before the Lord in prayer that he may be strengthened with might in his inner self and continue safely yet boldly to say those things laid upon his heart.,
Since you said last week you were going to speak on tongues this week, I have pondered this much. Yes. I believe it is a gift today as it was in the day of Pentecost. With that being said, I don't like to hear it. To me it is disruptive and interrupts my prayer. I find no edification and also the person who is supposedly interpreting (when there is an "interpreter) who knows if the person interpreting really knows what is being said in tongues? Churches have also been infiltrated with evil, and I know God is stronger, but I have heard hexes are put on people under the guise of tongues. I recently found myself in a church where they were speaking in tongues and some ran the aisles with the children running behind throughout the service. Not for me.....
Brother JD. You have chosen a very sensitive subject. Hence the (only) 12 comments. I truly believe I have the gift of discernment. But I would love for my soul to be able to pray to G-d in my prayer closet when I don't know how to pray. I understand you have this gift. You have made that clear. Do you realize how many people would love for the spirit to take over and pray for THEM when thy don't really know how or what to pray? Please tell us the benefits of the other gift (that we may have). We've honestly heard more than enough about the gift of tongues (that not all of us have).
Thank you JD for clarifying the meaning and significance of the spiritual gifts. Love your sermons! My only question is, what is the baptism of the Holy Spirit? Is it an actual baptism ritual or does it manifest in a prayer? If it's the latter, how do you know you've been baptized?
Pastor JD I still have questions: 1) Is speaking in tongues and praying in the spirit the same thing? 2) How do you know you're just not speaking gibberish if you are alone and can't understand yourself? I and a friend in childhood used to do this and have pretend coversations it actually sounded pretty real and if you didn't know you might actually think it was real. 3) In Acts chapter 2 when the Spirit came upon the apostles and they started speaking in tongues it was an actual language people of that tongue could understand, so isn't speaking in tongues really just speaking another language not a heavenly language? If anyone has insight into these questions please share. Thanks
+tzone 1. No and Yes, when using your prayer language, it is between you and God. God even understands when all we can do is groan. When praying corporately, you need an interpretation, by somebody or by you, but the prayer may sound the same uterances to you. 2. You may not discern a difference, but you can ask God for an interpretation of your prayer. I was listening to Andrew Wommack relating a story of when he was praying for a woman's son who had just passed away. He was praying for the child and does not know a lick of Spanish, however the mother said she herd him say get up, jump up, get up and play. So the hearer will hear what glorifies God. 3. Is related to what I said in 2.
Thank you for this message. I tried to contact John MacArthur once I had found what he believed to tell him about my testimony of miracles in my life. If these things cannot be attributed to the Holy Spirit - then to whom will be given the glory? He won't respond. Others like him have dismissed me as a witness to the gifts of the Spirit. Would that not border on blasphemy?
the oregon community should celebrate the life of a cop that protect the city colorado spring from that gunman since he was a good pastor and figure skater.
Thank you Pastor J.D. for your efforts to uplift us in the Word. I pray many have learned much from this teaching. Hallelu-Yah.
I received the gift of tongues, as a baby Christian.
For to help me grow. - Praying to God as a Shortcut .. bypassing my brain.

Pastor, I attend a Baptist Church and we and my pastor still believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, very much so. So not all Baptists ha.

Special prayer day worldwide for JD and his family this Sunday as near to 1pm as possible. Doesn't matter what the time zone is. He needs our prayers.
No problem. But why is he in so dire of need?
+plsjones Please watch his prophesy update.

So Paul doesn't elaborate on the "other" gifts. That in itself makes them less. Where are the descriptions and examples of the "OTHER" gifts?
