Live for self = depressed Live for others = dis-stressed Live for the lord = blessed Excellent JD Farag, not dorky in anyway! Excellent in fact! Great bible study today!
Great teaching and sooo true! I don't know how I'd make through each day if I couldn't pray in the spirit. God gives us the strength and wisdom to face life through the power of the Holy Spirit~we have but to believe and receive.
Thank you Pastor J.D. for this teaching and for the lessons of what should be the focus in this life. I have found it to be true that focus on my Savior brings an inner peace that is hard to explain. Halleli-Yah.
Boy did I get a whuppin. I've had a whole lot of depression lately. This coming March will be 2 yrs since I've injured my lower back. It inhibits me from physically helping the body of Christ. I can't visit like I'd like. I need my "special" chair at home a lot. Oh to be like Peter or Paul when they were physically hurting yet in a constant mode of praise and worship to the Lord. I need tunnel vision. I need to see only Jesus NOT my pain.
Thanks for sharing, we too have someone who suffers devastating and chronic pain. If it isn't the side effects of the meds, it's the inability to nurture proper sleep and if it isn't the lack of sleep, it is how people treat the one injured, as if they too have lost their ability to reason or think. We pray you find your perfect rest in Jesus!
So happy for the new church for you all :) Finding a Spirit filled church is very difficult these days . When the Lord filled me with the gift of tongues , IT CHANGED ME IN TREMENDOUS WAYS .
Perfect priorities, Melissa! I love that. J-O-Y Jesus first, Others next, You last (of course, when Jesus IS first, then others seem to naturally come before yourself) Kind of reminds me of G-F-C Not the priority of Great Fried Chicken, (though that CAN be important, especially for a potluck at a Calorie Chapel Church) but the old standard American principle of God - Family - Country !!! God bless...
When I was saved in 1973, my boyfriend and I was invited to a very traditional and active Pentecostal church. The woman wore no makeup and wore dresses below knee length. In those days mini skirts was the style and my boyfriend and I caused problems for them. We went for entertainment, I would wear the shortest mini I could and my boyfriend would interrupt the pastor. For some reason they did not kick us out, instead the whole church fasted and prayed for us, I wonder how many churches would do that for a couple of wayward kids today. I started having dreams about heaven, judgement, etc... One Sunday I woke up and felt a different feeling, went to church that night, the service started, very Pentecostal active, and it was as though a hand pulled me out of my seat and propelled me to the alter. I fell to my knees speaking in tongues. I will always have a special place in my heart for that Pentecostal church. Yes, some spoke in tongues without an interpreter, but they knew how to get ahold of God for a lost high school girl that was going in a very bad direction. My boyfriend also was saved and we did marry a couple of years later, he passed away three years ago.
A question to anyone who might answer, is speaking in tongues an actual language as seen in Acts 2:4-8 or is it a prayer language as referred to in Rom 8:26? Here's where I stuggle with the Rom 8 definition, utterances too deep for words or graonings if you will, are neither words or a language so how can that be considered speaking in tongues? I understand it as to separate things speaking in tongues and praying in the Spirit may both involve the Spirit but how is it that they can be considered the same thing?
It's a known language but "unknown" to the speaker. It's not a language of Angel's or prayer language... Roman's is like if I were to say things like "umm" uhhh etc the Spirit will intercede and make your prayer perfect before the LORD
@@benjibcs8347 Just a little.😊 I forgot I even wrote this. It's kind of weird to go back and see JD in this building because he has been in the new one for years now. Thanks for your response.
+Jennett Pearson God has blessed you with salvation thru his Son, Jesus. let God be God and bless you and us all as He sees fit, whether it's speaking in tongues, being generous, walking daily in the power of the Spirit and etc and etc.

I've felt an unction to be a prayer warrior. Praying for grace in that area. Prayed for you and family.

Confused. Which word are you using in this teaching. Prophesy or prophecy?
yep , paul spoke in more languages than all of them
I would love to have the gift of tongues, but God hasn't blessed me with it.
ask Him he will give it to you!
+Diana Rice I have, many, many times. :-(

+pana wiya Thank you, Pana. That is where I am at spiritually. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, I'm blessed 100-fold in other ways.
+Jennett Pearson , not a problem as I'm also reminding myself of who God is and who I am. God bless from Down Under
