The cbr f2 and the katana were always my favorites. Finally got an f2 last year, as a bit of a project making progress on it though! Man I can't get enough of how it sounds
This was my first bike back in 93, in the black/red/silver livery. I owned two of these through 97, and didn't buy another bike until two months ago. The F2 is what got me into motorcycling, and even though I went 22 years without a bike, the desire never left me.
I have a '91 CBR600 FM(F2). I bought it in July 2000. 28 years old, over 100,000 miles and still my bike of choice. My other bike is a 2007 Triumph Daytona 675 and she hardly ever gets a run out. The CBR is just so good!
I owned a '91 for two seasons. It was a beautiful machine fast, handled well, and comfortable. 240+ kmh. First 600 to boast 100hp and weighed roughly 440lbs. I loved it, and it was dead reliable.
You guys rock!!!!!!!!!!!! Brings back memories! My first bike was this same one! I out grew the bike quickly but what a reliable quick bike! Sold it at 70,000 miles! Parked it in my house on carpet and never leaked! I have owned many other bikes like ZX9R Ninja's and others and this F2 was damn reliable. Red lining every gear and was as fast as my bosses 2005 CBR600 which he even admitted it there was no difference. I beat the crap out of my old F2 oh god the memories :-) :-( Also Adam like a brother RIP our bikes before we bought were side by side in the BARGAIN NEWS paper. His listing was fora 1995 or 1997 HONDA CBR900RR.
We used the engine from this bike for our entry in the 1992 Formula SAE competition. However, we added a turbocharger from a Chevy Sprint, a throttle body and MAF sensor from a 3800 Buick and our own printed circuit board fuel injection/ engine control (no other team had their own controller). Great memories!
i gonna buy this bike. i have a zuki 750 now and had kawa gpx750 in the past, i should had buy a cbr 600 from the start, i had 3 civics and they are the most strong , riliable car you can get, i drove 70000 km in my first 1,4is 1997 90hp without any form of service. no oil change, it was a oil drinker, so i refill once in a while, with cheapest oil i could find.. honda is the way to go
I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s still a few of these still kicking around. There’s a 2000 CBR600F4i with over 332,000 miles on it. Most bikes get sent to the junkyard because of wrecks, not because of bad engines or any reliability issues. I bet you could buy one of these today and have plenty of fun and go as fast as you want to
Had this exact bike in the same color when I was 17 through 20. Got it used in '96 the year I graduated high school. I was a stupid kid and had to sell it to pay off fines. Wish I still had that bike. Loved that thing. Had a Vance and Hines exhaust and that thing was so loud lol
This bike had the best graphics and mimicked the red white blue if the 900RR and the NSR. I remember wanting this bike when new but got the FZR600RR which was more racy but less comfortable to ride.
perfect starter bike. Too many go for one liter superbikes right off the bat. I learned to ride on this and was happy for the 4 year i had one before moving to a Ducati 916
This was my first bike also, but I would definitely not recommend it as a first bike. It's a miracle I'm still alive honestly. I nearly killed myself on that thing at least half a dozen times.
The only CBR I’ve ridden in the F4i although I’ve owned a few Ninja ZX6R’s. The F4i was very impressive, well built and fun to ride. I’ve heard the 600RR is even better
Haha. My first REAL bike. Bought it used in 1996 from a friend. Mine was the black and purple with white rims. Awesome bike! I traded it in for the (then) brand new 98 Kawi Ninja ZX-9R. Back to Honda and a 2000 929RR after that then finally, my last one was a 2007 Yamaha R1. All GREAT and FANTASTIC bikes!! I really miss riding but east coast of Florida just ain’t the place for sport bikes. 😢
Starter bike my ass. Ditched the KZ1100 for the F2 and never looked back. Fucker is PLENTY fast for the street. Also have one of those CTs mentioned... bike rips with a 125cc jammed in 😎
I had one and it was a great bike 😁 I was expecting a braking run, 1/4 mile time, top speed and miles per gallon average from the show like with the cars even though I know what my bike could do.
I bought a brand new one of these in Nov 1992. Rode the piss out of that 1993 600F2. Sadly while visiting San Diego in 1998 it was stolen right out of my brothers front yard. I had a Disc lock and Steering locked and someone still yoinked it. Never saw it again and had to fight my insurance forever just to get anything for the theft. 2 things happened because of that theft. I never rode another motorcycle to San Diego and Progressive lost me as a customer forever. To which my dad had already warned me about, "Never do business with A Progressive... especially if the word Progressive is in their business name."
Yup My first bike was this exact bike. I forgot my Dyno numbers but it was very good with the vance&hines pipe and K&N filter. air filter and exhaust held this bike back. I think it was 90-97HP to the rear wheel. Funny enough it held with 900's because it was so light. My bike inch past my friends Honda 900 but my bike weighed 390- 400lbs and my body was 160lbs and my friend weighed 240-260lbs and that 900 weighed a lot more than my bike. So I won just because of weight.
@@jonathanlemieux7030 155 would be a stretch I think. I had one of these bikes back in the day and I recall hitting around 140. I was a kid then and my memory might not be correct though.

@@koalafan1455 I bought a 1993 CBR600 f2 yesterday as a first bike, didn't get to ride it yet, but I'm sure you can do it as well! Just have respect for the machine and you'll be good

The daytona for sell?
Started my love for bikes but I could not afford one at the time. I did however eventually get a '99 F4 that I still have.
Modern classic in my opinion. 👍🏻
Had the 94, it was a great bike

Your comment took me back..lol such a great game! Used to play road rash on PlayStation all the time

I used to ride home from work on my silver black and red 1993 CBR 600 and play Road Rash 😆 It was a great bike.

Honda really nailed it with the F2. My '93 still rides great today. As does my '96 F3.

Chain tensioners killed a bunch of them, but only if outrageously neglected. There are definitely F2/F3s on the road.
This was my first motorcycle. It was 15 years old when I got my hands on it, but it kept pulling until the day I sold it.
Such a beautiful bike and love the color combination. Definitely on the must have list right next to a Ducati 916.
