    Just a general question (I'm not too familiar with Essentially Ellington) are bands required to have all the music memorized or is this band even more incredible than they initially seem?

    • @goldenpooper4326
      @goldenpooper4326 2 года назад +5

      Although i am not 100% either I believe that it is an informal tradition in a way to come to the competition with memorized music (especially the top bands like Dillard and such) but I have seen bands play with music. Again I am just guessing and I have never played at EE

      They get extra points for memorising music that’s why it’s not because it’s a tradition or snything

    • @estaguy177
      @estaguy177 6 месяцев назад

      you can read it but you get more points if it’s memorized because they say that people play with more soul and energy when they play it by heart instead of being stuck in the page
