    Easy explanation... People sleep on the floor. -> Their bodies are warm -> The krait, seeking out warm and secured place, mistakes the sleeping people as potential shelter. -> It slithers inside the blanket and curls up. -> The sleeping man flips in his sleep, startling the snake. -> The snake bites and kills the unfortunate guy.

    It's a cold blooded, nocturnal creature that seeks shelter and the warmth of a poor soul sleeping on the floor in an uninsulated house. When they toss and turn in their sleep the snake gets spooked and bites them.
    This is my speculation based on.. you know, thinking. But it might also suck out your soul, who knows?

    • @ashb001
      @ashb001 2 года назад +1

      I think they are able to sense people or large animals using their infrared "vision", and generally steer clear of them. The other possibility is that the dark gaps among the blankets just draw snakes naturally. They almost expect to find prey there. That is moreso likely given that the Krait is nocturnal...it actively hunts during the night and does not need to rest or seek warmth.

    If I was in India, I'd use an actual bed rather than sleep on the floor. For camping I'd try sleeping in a hammock. The risk is sleeping directly on the floor. If the snake can't climb up to you, you're safe. It shouldn't be too hard, since the snake isn't trying to get to you.

      Nevertheless ...
      Go and google about Kraits they're trained well by nature to climb over rough surfaces if they gotta little support they can climb and bite your ass .
      You've got only 2 hours to save your life then cos the venom shows symptoms within 30 minutes of bite and it takes 4 hours to disconnect your access to oxygen .in 2 hours you won't be in the condition to walk and talk you'll just breath and see things around you and when it reaches 4 hours you'll pass away . If gotta bite then rush quickly to hospital and take the anti venom injection.

    Pretty terrible that they see this snake sneaking up on the sleeping person and just film it. They could have at least stopped it from killing them.

      Right! Doyle spent quite a time in india. Krait is more feared than cobra. Slithers in the night like a ninja and a painless bite. You are doomed!

    We also killed this snakes 4-5 times when they came inside home. We know this snake very poisonous. If it bites chance of death is very high, we can’t get anti venom in nearby hospital.
    So we Indian Villagers will kill snakes if they came inside home or nearby houses.

      It was probably gimmicked.
      You never see the _actual_ man when you see the snake and we only "know" he was there because the camera cut to him in the same area under a similar but not the same cloth. They would never put an actor in that kind of danger. There was probably some kind of contraption under the cloth to make it move and some kind of treat or heat source for the snake so that it would go there.
      They're in the same room, just never actually at the same time :) This is just a recreation. He's totally fine.

    Common Kraits are lot in Sri Lanka as well...Death in sleep is definitely a reality in rural areas, worst thing is since the bite is painless victim wont even realize it or even think something else....more dangerous than cobras or vipers in my view
