9:45 Check out my video on zinc!
In this video, we’re going to talk about how to increase your height naturally.
Children typically grow two inches in height each year between age one and puberty-this increases to four inches a year during puberty. Your height typically stops increasing between ages eighteen and twenty.
If you’re under twenty and want to grow taller, this information is for you.
While there is a genetic limitation to your maximum height, you can support your growth with nutrients. Nutrient deficiencies can significantly reduce your height.
Three types of hormones are directly related to growing taller:
    • Human growth hormone (HGH)
    • Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1)
    • Thyroid hormones
Low HGH can be caused by:
    1. Zinc deficiency:
    • Excess phytates
    • Sugar and refined carbs
    • Alcohol
    • Stress
    • Not enough red meat or shellfish
    2. Insufficient protein
    3. Lack of sleep
    4. Obesity
    5. Smoking
    6. Caffeine
    7. Low vitamin D
    8. Starvation
Low IGF-1 can be caused by:
    • Liver damage-especially a fatty liver from a high-carb diet
Low thyroid hormones can be caused by:
    • Iodine deficiency
    • Not enough seafood, shellfish, and sea kelp
The best supports to help increase your height are:
    1. A quality trace mineral product with zinc (or red meat and shellfish)
    2. Pituitrophin PMG (SP)
    3. Lots of sleep
    4. Avoid phytates
    5. Vitamin D3 (regular exposure to sunlight)
    6. Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting

So true about the zinc. I was in the 90th percentile for my height until I graduated high school. But I had extremely high levels of zinc even when pregnant before I started prenatals (usually a growing fetus takes it all) I was always hungry as a kid but ate pretty well. Also, all the taller people I know seem to really like cereal. Also, stretching. Almost instinctively I would stretch after sleeping or even when getting sleepy. I noticed my toddler does it as well (also 90th percentile for height).

I’ve always felt nutrition probably played a key part of height. I’m Latino, my dad was born in the mid 1920s and he was about 5’8” which was actually kinda tall for a Latino man, back then. My mom was 5’4” which was a decent height. Born in the early 60s, I’m 6’, my two younger sisters are 5’6” & 5’9”. I can’t help but think food in the 60s didn’t have all the additives & genetic modifications like today. Both my parents were good cooks and we ate balanced meals with a wide variety of vegetables and meats, including many organ meats that were not typically consumed by Americans at that time. I’d say that a good diet gave us kids 4 inches of height on our parents.

My brother stopped growing around 18 - 19, then when he was 31 started complaining about extreme growing pains (especially at night time). He thought it was arthritic pain. But shockingly he ended up growing 2 more inches. Went to see his doctor, the doctor got scared thinking it was cancer or something, they sent him to specialists, the specialists said yeah it happens. Its not common, but it happens. So all the nonsense of growth plates and their knowledge of growth and the body is obviously wrong.

I was 10 years old and I was a head shorter than other kids at school same grade, and got bullied a lot. Doctor said I would never get taller than 5’7”
My mom sent me to play sports, every summer, swimmer, basketball… and made me drink lots and lots of bone broth stew, beef, pork cooked with lots of different kinds of veggies 🥕..
During the day played lots of sport , after having a delicious meal then went to bed. I slept at least 8 hours a day during the summer, then bam 💥, from June to September , I grew about 2 inches..
Every since then , my mom contuned to use this formula on my height. When I started at college I grew to 5’11” , way taller than 5’6” the doctor predicted.
I kept drinking beef , pork , strew even in my college days, now I am about 6’1”.

I’m 5’4 and I’m 14 almost turning 15. It’s a pain in the ass to be this short. Especially if you are in the basketball team like me. My dad is 5’4 and my mom is 4’11. Both of my parents are very very short. My cousins in my moms side are over 5’9. My little brother is 5’9 and he is only 14. I wonder how tall I’ll be when I’m a full adult. I’m hoping to aim to be at least 5’8 or taller. This will give me a lot of confidence and will make me feel secure.

I searched up so many things to grow taller, I now basically accept this height (which isn't even bad), in fact I'm pretty tall compared to the average person when I walk around. In college though it's a little tough seeing all these 6 foot plus guys. Go do stuff. Sleep full 8 hours, stretch a lot, swim or play basketball, eat a LOT of food (but healthy foods), and at the end of the day, consistency and positive mentality. Good luck buddies.

He eats Cambell’s soup too. Sometimes he likes tacos. He loves pickles. He is very picky. He likes sweets but not as much as his little brother. When the boys eat with us, his grandparents, we serve real foods, meat, veggies and sometimes rice or potatoes. The oldest complains about the gross food we put in his plate. He is slowly learning to broaden his palate, but it is frustrating to see him reject the good foods.

To go along with Doc’s protocol… As a licensed massage therapist, I can tell you that you can stimulate growth with foot massage/reflexology.
Also hanging helps release pressure from the spine that gravity plays a big role on our bodies.
So I’d say keep your diet in check, exercise, and getting regular bodywork done will have a great effect on growing taller.
I would bet that you’d find benefits from using red light therapy/ photobiomodulation therapy as well.

I had a zink deficit as a child, I’m 6ft and I always felt that I should have been taller, my mom was 5.8 and my dad was 5.5 so making it to 6ft was good, but I thought I should have been 6.2. Now looking at the Netherlands they switched the nation, to a vitamin/ mineral rich diet and now they are one of the tallest nations in the world.

hi doc what are your thoughts on those that you use products like mk 677 or other supplements that promote hgh or igf or other supplements like aromatase inhibitors to block estrogen and such so the growth plates stay open? would you recommend this?

I remember I checked my height around November 2020 and I was around 159 cm and then February this year I checked again and I grew approximately 3 cm makes me now 162+ cm. I was so happy lol cuz I am 16 and people said girls would stop growing during this age but i am not. Hope i would reach 168cm some day, my height goal😂

My husband's first year in college, grew from 5ft. 4 inches to 6ft. I grew an inch taller after I got married, after I turned 24 & so did my aunt.

I think our family maybe unusual. We all stop growing around the age of 14. So we are really tall at a younger age but then others start to catch up years later. My youngest grandson is 6 ft 4 in. He only grew an inch after he hit 14. Plus we tend to get our puberty growth spurt starting around 10 years old.

Dr Berg Thank you. I would like to ask, I'm trying to grow up, do I need to give up rice and flour? How about eggs instead?
