I saw that strat during your practice runs. I thought you saw it for sure when you were sweeping low on the pipe. I thought it was maybe out of reach since you weren't going for it. I ran through the track with the COTD stream running beside me. Over the entire video, I finally broke 43.277, so not close enough yet to compete, but I'm also not using that Zoman strat either. I could probably break into 42, but 41 is so far off. I'm happy to get AT for now.
We had very similar experiences this COTD. I was consistently doing times that would've been easily top 5, but hit the same tree you did and had the same bad run that left me with 39 seconds. I was also one of (to my knowledge) three people doing the two wheel drop off the ramp at cp3, and the other two finished 2nd and 3rd. Need to get that consistency in knockout rounds.
My 3rd ever COTD, first one I had just switched to controller, placed high 20s, second one was like 2 weeks ago, choked and DNFed first round, but did much better this time, 15th place! Definitely have been getting better at the game! Once I saw Zoman’s line in photo mode, I was awestruck! I also was surprised he was the only one going for it! Also, just a recommendation, I’d have the mod add a comment saying players will no longer be kicked, and tell them to go in photo mode if they’re out, it took me a second to realize why I wasn’t kicked, if I didn’t watch these videos, I woulda probably set a time
The mod keeps track of who is in and out. if a player who is out sets a time they get kicked instantly. As is it’s basically on the player to read the chat and know if they are still in.
The moment I saw you had a bad start on your final run I knew you should have reset. You were so focused on commenting that you clipped the tree that you didn't have your head in the game any more. You were just driving with "let's put down any time" mentality. And I'm not saying this in hindsight - I knew you should reset immediately. There was simply no point in continuing that run, when there was plenty of time to put better one. You had the consistency to do it, so there was no point in delivering much worse time. I like these cup of the day videos. Keep up the good work mate!
Nice track, that line zoman was doing was such a nice surprise, but I am a fan of no hidden lines for Cup of the Day tracks so also really hated it. I don't think non-obvious cuts are great for competition.
i had found that line Zoman used in warmups, but dismissed it as being too hard to pull off in rounds, ggs Zoman!

I knew about the risky line, when i made the map but i wouldnt expect it too be used too much.

He wasn’t taking that line that early on. it was late when he got the first 41 using that.
@@Hi_Im_Sandals Maybe. Two rounds later he put down the first 42.0 so he was likely practicing that line for at least one or two before that.

ya I knew it wasn’t the best but even my bad runs had been .4/.5 so figured it’d be fine to just continue.
